The Lodge at Brother's Cove - Tall ceilings and spacious dance floor!

    The Lodge at Brother's Cove

    (7 reviews)

A DIY engaged couple's paradise! PERFECT WEDDING!!!!!! We…read morechose to just rent the property and not go with the "all inclusive" package... and we are so happy we did! The rental of the property came with linens, chairs, staff set-up and tear down of their items, and some fake florals as well. You must be off the property by midnight, so I suggest ending the wedding around 11:00pm, so your other venders can clean up! The view.... BEAUTIFUL, BREATHTAKING, WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!! Our wedding ceremony took place outside at the gazebo; we couldn't have been happier with the moments and photos captured. The lodge (where we held the reception) was extremely spacious and comfortable for our wedding size of 75, with 8 guests at each table, there was plenty of elbow room. The temperature was cool (with 85degrees outside), and the dance floor was always filled- aside from dinner time. The Brothers Cove staff assured the details were taken care of and we had no issues with our open bar (you can only have 3 liquors, but our bartender helped us add on more in). We hired a local golf cart company to assist with shuttling, because if you have more then 75 guests it is a necessity to have shuttle service with the property. All licensed personnel and venders must be given to the property management before the big day; this is a norm we found in the area, and is to assure all venders have insurance. The overall experience with the Brothers Cove Lodge- yes, it was expensive to rent (over $4,000); you get a rehearsal time of 1.5hours either the day before or day of the wedding, your rental time for the wedding is from 12:00pm that day- midnight. Parking is limited at the top- about 15 spaces, but parking is available for guests at the bottom too. If any guests stay on the property... we just had the golf cart guys (HotWheelz/Michael- owner) drive to their cabins to pick them up. We did mark the guests cabins with balloons for easier sighting at night- I recommend this! Bears.... Yes, you'll see them!!! The actual cabins on the property: Brothers Cove does not own. We unfortunately had a lot of issues with cleanliness and broken appliances with 4/12 cabins rented, so definitely talk with the rental company of assuring everything works. You get a 10% discount on cabins, if you hold a wedding on the property. We stayed at "above it all" and it was the BEST cabin- 360degree views, 2bedrooms (one was used for getting ready, while the bridesmaids decorated the other for the beginning of our honeymoon), 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen, and plenty of space downstairs for a make-up team to get you ready. Rain chances scare any couple... if this happens, the ceremony will be set-up inside the lodge. We had a 60% chance of rain for our June wedding, but not a single drop fell. Cellphone service is limited, the drive up is steep, but the the views are worth it!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND BROTHERS COVE AND WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN!!!! PERFECT WEDDING!!!!!!!!! Venders We Used with this amazing property: *HotWheelz for transportation- (865) 323-0577. *Simple Bliss (day of coordinator): Misty Cooper *Cake Pump (wedding cake/cupcakes): Tonya *Chef's Catering (food/dessert): speak to Sarah *Andi Allen Photography: she was outstanding! *Julie Bartender: (865) 566-2876 (cell). *DJ (Knox Vegas DJ/ use Jack): (865) 282-8070. *Violinist: Millicent +1 (423) 262-3061 (amazing)!

If the review was strictly about the setting, I would give them 6 stars if I could! We had our…read morewedding here a few weeks ago and it's just absolutely gorgeous! The views and the lodge really make it a dream wedding. All of our guests keep raving about how beautiful it was :) Now behind the scenes is the planning and coordinating with the venue employees. From the onset of the booking they were beyond complicated. Every question I had was always answered with "no" and then several added complications that caused me stress. Instead of helping through the process, they just added more and more obstacles. They definitely do not like DIY brides and do not offer a helping hand whatsoever. The worst part was that the night of our wedding they began stressing out our wedding planner, telling her that if we were not our by midnight they would charge us $250. We had an issue with transportation which caused a delay. My husband and I were already in panic mode and they did nothing to help. Instead they were shoving us out at 12 and telling us we had to drive the trash down. I wish they would have just had some empathy for us on our wedding day. We spent the last hour of our wedding helping move things out of the lodge. If you book this place, mentally prepare yourself that you will not have their help and that they will add complications to the vision that you have in mind. But again, the views are to die for.

We held our ten (10) year Family reunion at the Little Valley Mountain Resort in late July 2025…read more We picked this particular Resort because I had stayed there late in 2008 and our Daughter & Her Family had stayed there early in 2020. Both stays were nothing short of AWESOME! So now our whole Family was going to stay & enjoy the Resort. All I can say is that things sure have changed over the years and not for the better. We had quite a few minor things affect us with our stay, but we were willing to overlook them. Like water off a duck's back. Then the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back occurred. We had a big bottle of Jack fall from the refrigerator and hit squarely on the glass top stove, cracking the stove top. I went down to the office and informed them of the accident. I also claimed responsibility for the damage and was prepared to reimburse them for replacing the stove top. The lady at the front desk asked for my name & phone number. She assured me that they would research getting the part replaced and would inform me as to how much I owed them. She also informed me that she thought the stove in that particular unit had recently been replaced in the last few years. DAMN the luck!!! On advice from my Brother we took pictures of the model / serial numbers. Turns out the stove was actually manufactured in May of 2012. So, thirteen (13) years old, not a few years old, as originally thought. Definitely at the end of it's useful life. Along with the age. The LED clock on the control panel had several lights burned out. Soo it was really difficult to tell what time it was. Thank God the clock on the microwave was just above it and functioning correctly. The bottom storage drawer on the stove was also broken. It looked all cattywampus and when I pulled it out to see why. I realized that the left drawer guide was all busted to hell. All indications of a stove near the end of it's useful life. We researched the cost of replacing the stove top. The top would be ~$200.00 - $250.00. A whole new stove would be ~$650.00 - $1,000.00. Depending on where you purchased them. Imagine our surprise when my Mother called me and informed me that the Resort had charged Her credit card for ~$770.00 for a brand-new stove. No phone calls, to Her or me. No communication once so ever. Akin to getting into a car accident, with a thirteen (13) year old, damaged car. You accept the responsibility for the accident and they demand, they want a brand-new car. We are at our wits end. Now all those minor inconveniences came to a head. The Cabin - The water had a very sulfury stench to it. So much so, nobody wanted to use the cabin water. We went through three (3) cases of water, for cooking and personal hygiene. No hair dryer. We had three (3) females in our cabin. All with long hair. They had washed their hair and then the search for a hair dryer began, with no joy. Thru phone calls to other Family members, in other cabins. We found out that they all had hair dryers, but we did not. The knife set in the kitchen was so dull. My Wife had to purchase Her own knife(s) to prepare meals. The spa, what a waste. My Wife went to use it and the foul stench that hit Her when She lifted the cover caused Her to reel back and closed it up as quickly as possible. Also the spa was running pretty much 24-7 and very, very, very LOUD. So much so, that it was very difficult for us to sleep. Our room was right next to it and for some reason every morning at ~0300 it would shut-off for about five (5) minutes and then restart. Waking us up every morning at ~0300. The Grandkids bunk beds had no sheets on them. Everyone is getting ready to retire for the evening and we find ourselves trying to put sheets on bunk beds that are walled in on three (3) sides. Which added another 1/2 hour to our day. Not to mention, not an easy task for us old disabled farts. The hand-held shower in our room did not work. Very hard for a disabled person to take a shower with just a fixed shower head. Then of course the stove issue (Read Above). The Amenities - The miniature golf course was a joke. The greens were covered with rocks, tree debris, & leaves. I weigh ~250 Lbs. and I was afraid I was going to collapse through parts of the elevated course, that were sagging under my weight. The pool had a pale green hue to it the whole time we were there. the sign of an, unhealthy and improbably balanced pool water. We did not want to risk the chance of getting a skin rash, red eye or urinary tract / ear infections. Compared to our stay in 2008. The beautiful mountain views are all but gone. Everything has been allowed to overgrow and take away these magnificent Smoky Mountain views. Instead of the beautiful mountain views, now all you can see are trees, trees and more trees. All said we will NEVER stay here again. Y'all's focus seems to have changed from a customer relationship base to a transactional model.
