This is a typical cookie cutter Hampton Inn. The rooms at this location include a mini fridge and…read morea microwave - not all Hampton Inns to. No complaints with the comfort of the bed, or cleanliness of the room, bathroom etc. Like most Hampton Inns, it only has a walk-in shower, but no bathtub - no big deal. The parking lot is extremely well lit, it's in a good neighborhood, and right around the corner from the Conroe Police station, so no worries about safety, or anything happening to your car overnight. There are plenty of places to eat within a mile of the hotel. That's the good part. Now for the not so good... I highly recommend getting a room on the 4th floor so no one is above you. Hampton Inns are notoriously loud. (if you use the Hilton Honors app to check in, you can see the floor plan and pick your own room, and even use your phone to unlock the door). I also recommend picking a room on the backside of the hotel, away from the highway. It's quiet, and you get a nice view of a pine forest. It's VERY cold in the hallways and in the room. It was a nice 68 degrees outside, but I had to run the heater because it was so cold inside. On one morning of my visit, housekeeping knocked, waited one second, and then tried to open the door. Luckily, I had the metal door hook latched (the extra deadbolt does not keep housekeeping out - I did not know that). The maintenance guys and housekeeping are very loud. I was awakened on Christmas morning AND the morning AFTER Christmas at 8am by maintenance guys doing some painting or some repairs in the room across from me. Repeated slamming doors, and what seemed like very loud talking in the hallway. The house keepers arrive later, but they also let the doors slam, and talk loudly to each other from two or three rooms away. You can hear EVERY word uttered in the hallway. Typical hot buffet breakfast served until 10am, but they start putting the seats up on the tables around 930am to try and discourage you from staying too long. Hampton breakfasts aren't worth your time anyway. Powdered eggs with bacon one day, and pre-made omelets with heavily processed, frozen sausage patties the next day. Rinse and repeat, over and over. Some cereal, a waffle maker, and a little bit of fruit.

However, some of that is just gilding. The best way to describe it is to harken you back to the second apartment you got after college. Not that awful one you signed up for, not knowing any better, where you came to accept the conditions like Stockholm syndrome and eventually name the rats in your walls. But this renovated hotel is more like the one after that. Where they at least gave it a fresh coat of paint before move it and the carpet was changed. Overall the place was very clean, albeit with small rooms and lacking amenities. However, it was the cheapest in Conroe, so understandable. If you are only sleeping in the room and not planning to hang out or be with family there, book it. The staff had it ups and down. Friendly over night folks, but they were in the midst of training day time people and each had an attitude. It was especially annoying to have to get new room cards on 4 occasions. Overall, 3 is somewhat generous, but still above a 2 star joint.

Under construction, dirty, carpet nasty, wallpaper peeling, no tv on arrival, phone doesn't work. Water turned off next morning without notice and no water available. An all around nightmare.

The conditions here are completely unacceptable regarding basic hygiene and safety. There is trash left in the hallways, and the overall cleanliness is atrocious. To make matters worse, the staff expects guests to do their job--we had to clean our own room and beg for fresh sheets and towels because housekeeping is practically nonexistent. Service and accountability are entirely lacking. They refused to return our $100 deposit with absurd, false excuses about the room's cleanliness, dodging our calls for a week. Most alarming is the lack of basic safety measures. This hotel claims to accommodate families, yet they don't even have a first aid kit on site. When my child got hurt and injured their head, the staff offered zero assistance, no bandages, and no disinfectant, telling us to go find a pharmacy ourselves. A completely unsafe, unhygienic, and dishonest establishment. Avoid at all costs!

I asked the front desk staff when the light would be back on and she said in about an hour. I went back to my car and went back inside after an hour and still no lights. Yeah I will not suggest to book with this hotel since they charge you for a service you could not redeem.

She assured us of an expedited check-in and delivered--efficiently and warmly. She even took the time to explain features on the hotel's app I hadn't known about, which really enhanced my stay. As a woman traveling alone, I felt genuinely cared for. When I returned late after a wedding, she greeted and asked if I needed anything--something I haven't experienced in a long time, despite traveling often. Holli made this stay comfortable, safe, and memorable.

Not that our room was terrible, it wasn't like the other Fairfield Inns I've stayed at previously. Google said this hotel was built in 2010 and it shows some wear and tear for sure. Check-in went ok. The girl at the desk wasn't overly friendly but that's ok. Our room was ok. Smaller than other Fairfields. Decor was "meh". Beds were comfy though. Shower was poor: pink mold on shower head, wall that the shower head was on was cracked in half and they slapped some caulk on it. Bathroom door was closed upon entering and when we opened it, we were overwhelmed with the smell of bleach. Mini fridge, microwave and small coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was good. "Egg McMuffins" sandwiches were a nice surprise. Other items included: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, muffins, yogurt, cereal, etc. Coffee was good as well. We swam in the outdoor pool. It's a touch on the small side but that didn't bother us because we were the only ones there. Outdoor furniture was old. When we were checking out, they began testing the fire alarm, which was alarming for sure. No heads up with that. No employee checking us out either. Just left our keys on the desk. All in all, it was a decent stay.
