We landed here after playing Priceline roulette. And almost got what we paid for. Very recent upgrades to the poor reviews from 2 years ago. Everything has been touched up and looks new. However, some of that is just gilding. The best way to describe it is to harken you back to the second apartment you got after college. Not that awful one you signed up for, not knowing any better, where you came to accept the conditions like Stockholm syndrome and eventually name the rats in your walls. But this renovated hotel is more like the one after that. Where they at least gave it a fresh coat of paint before move it and the carpet was changed. Overall the place was very clean, albeit with small rooms and lacking amenities. However, it was the cheapest in Conroe, so understandable. If you are only sleeping in the room and not planning to hang out or be with family there, book it. The staff had it ups and down. Friendly over night folks, but they were in the midst of training day time people and each had an attitude. It was especially annoying to have to get new room cards on 4 occasions. Overall, 3 is somewhat generous, but still above a 2 star joint. read more

Under construction, dirty, carpet nasty, wallpaper peeling, no tv on arrival, phone doesn't work. Water turned off next morning without notice and no water available. I'd give a zero if I could!! I booked this room through Hotel.com. I ended up feeling good to drive closer to my destination, so I decided to change my mind and canceled within 5-10 min of booking. They charged me $133 for a stay that never happened. I contacted Hotel.com and they said they could only reimburse me $85 because hotel refused to make up the rest. AGAIN, I never even stepped foot on their property! And now for sure never will and will tell everyone I know not to as well. read more

It's not a Baymont anymore, it's a fresh Comfort Inn. Quiet, GREAT bed and pillows. Small shower, but hot water. What a value! My room was $70.00 pre tax for the night. Also a huge 55" TV. read more

The lady at the front desk was EXTREMELY rude the three times we interacted with her. We called to discuss a refund we have yet to receive and she was yelling at us from the moment she picked up the phone. Was no help to us at all. When I arrived early for check in before 5pm, I was greeted kindly by the lady at the desk. That was the best part of my stay as it just went down hill from there. They could not accomidate the reservation that I made for 2 queen beds, so they sent a roll-away for my son to sleep on. The bed that they said was a king was actually a full size, it was broken and when the lights went out, the bugs started crawling! Roaches! I requested to be moved to a different room the next night which they did, it was a much nicer room...but it too was full of roaches when the lights went out! I understand that since Covid, it is hard to find good help, but if you can't get the help, shut down some of the rooms if you can't handle to customers. They did not refund my $ but if they would have, it will not come close to what I will pay for an exterminator if I take any of these nasty pests home! read more

Theres no fun in this fungus...the minute we got out of the elevator to our floor we were hit in the face with the smell of mildew. In our room it was even stronger. We attempted to swap rooms and the new room was even worse to the point of making me ill. We got our money back and bounced out of there super fast. Go literally anywhere else. read more

On the 2nd night of my stay my vehicle was broken into and several items were stolen. I do not hold the hotel responsible, but their follow up has been ridiculous. During my 5 day stay I had to constantly be checking in with staff on getting camera footage to the police after I made a a police report. I was told by the manager, Dawn Benson, that they could see someone circling the parking lot and that they stopped by my vehicle, got out and looked into and around it. She said she would continue to look through footage for the actual theft. It wasnt until the 5th and final day of my stay, after asking everyday after the status of the footage, that I was told second hand by an employee that Dawn said the owner Ravi Patel would have to look at the footage instead and that he would get back with me. Also through out my stay, I found the exterior doors would not close after entering or exiting the hotel. So if you stay here, be aware that anyone can enter into the building regardless of whether they have a keycard or not. read more

Was told multiple times that wydham only has their name on it but each hotel is independently owned and the manager at this location makes all the decisions and it will take 12 days to get to any resolution. We left and might have to pay for it but no amount of money is worth staying here. The lock on our door was also not working. I guess this place is good if you want to send your most hated realtive here. I normally stay at Wyndham hotels for my work. But this one was for personal reasons and I have to say the pictures were deceiving and upon arrival when heading to my room I saw a bunch of signs that say no smoking and the entire floor smelled like tobacco smoke. The room was ok but everything is outdated. On the other hand the staff was friendly and they did allow my girlfriend and i to check in early. 5 stars on customer service but definitely a 2 star on appearance and smell. I will not be staying here again if I ever have a reason to come back to Conroe!! read more

My niece and I were excited to be here. The price is right for this hotel we are staying in. But, as we entered the room it had a mold and mildew smell. I have horrible allergies. The only way for us to get through it was to turn up the air conditioner. I just had surgery so I was feeling like I was going to pass out . After resting we both came out of the room I heard the Lady with dark brown hair pulled back in a ponytail with her voice raised negatively at a customer on the phone trying to get his money back. She did not handle that call in a professional manner at all. She slammed the phone down. I understand that the customer is not always right. She was not either. I was very put off by that desk lady. Not a happy camper this morning. The room is OK - typical mid class hotel. However, last night at about 11:30 the smoke detector in the adjacent room started chirping. I called the front desk and they said they'd take care of it. Needless to say, they didn't. It's still chirping this morning. Which means I got almost no good sleep all night. The adjacent room has adjoining doors, and the smoke detectors are right by the doors. So although the chirping smoke detector wasn't in my room, it just as well could have been. Maybe a call to the Fire Marshall will get it addressed. What kind of hotel doesn't change the batteries in their smoke detectors often enough to protect their guests? I talked to the front desk again this morning. Their excuse for not addressing it last night is that there was someone in the room and they couldn't get in touch with them. Except I gave them the wrong room number and nobody was in the actual room. Seriously, they couldn't walk 30 steps down the hall and listen? I could hear it from the hall this morning! One of the worst hotels in Conroe... First the staff is very unproffessional.. The front desk attendant had her kids running around.. And the manager was okay with that.. Second the rooms are outdated and have a old smell, shower was didn't work properly.. If you stay here, spray everything down with lysol.. T.V. didnt work properly..Mattress were wore out.. All in all this place reminded me of a crackhouse or whorehouse.. They have made there business off of contract workers looking for a cheap place to stay.. And not carrying at all about sanitary conditions.. And then to top it off the breakfast is stale and old.. Not even worth getting up for.. Beware of this place!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! read more

This place is horrible. We went inside and immediately getting onto the floor we got sick from the stench of mildew the room was even worse. We went down to swap rooms and when we came back up the new room was just as bad if not worse making us ill. This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at recently. The phone does not work so you can't call the front desk to yell at them about the heater which doesn't work. And it only blows cold air. Stay away from this unclean and hostile hotel. On multiple occasions I was treated very unprofessionally by the front desk staff at this hotel. While most of the other staff is friendly and helpful, the mood of my stay and vacation was negatively impacted by the multiple interactions with rude and unfriendly employees. In addition to the negative employees, the overall cleanliness of the build was very disappointing. In a previous stay I noticed the following morning the white sheets I slept in were covered in multiple different stains. There was a very unpleasant (sulfurous?) odor when first walking into the room, coupled with overall grime throughout the room on both visits at this hotel. While my above stay and treatment may have been a fluke with this hotel, it still was a very negative experience which impacted the rest of my stay in Conroe. Beware, you are taking your chances when visiting this hotel. While I have had positive experiences with the employees at this hotel, I have had some very negative interactions on multiple occasions. I have recently reached out to the Wyndham corporate support department to voice my displeasure, in hopes to have a positive resolution from the concern over my treatment as a customer. read more

I'm impressed so far but I still have 11 days to go. I was greeted by a friendly young American lady at the desk and she took care of me rather quickly. There was a young man cleaning up the lobby which was well taking care of. Fitness center is small but I really liked the Bowflex treadmill but they could use some cleaning wipes to clean up the equipment after use. Comfortable rooms and reasonably priced. I'd stay here again. IHOP in the same parking lot helps to. After being here for a week I'll update things. Room is comfortable had to go ask for a couple of towels to get out of the tub in and some more soap and shampoo because the cleaning lady never would leave any. Those are the only things I've found so far but those things are minor considering everything. read more

"This is the motel 6" the desk attendant told the police as we walked up. That was just the beginning. Staff was not friendly, windows and doors are paper thin, pillows are like bags of cotton balls, walls need repainting, mattresses are old, waffles mix was very runny, milk was watered down, basically the whole place needs to be remodeled. Stayed for a week there for work. Terrible experience and service! Called front desk to let them know I was leaving for a bit and to have my room serviced while I was out. Told her that whoever did it yesterday didn't even take any of the trash at all so now we got double trash. When I came back the lazy worker left the towels on the sink, didn't even grab the old towels on the floor, and didn't do the bed! They only grabbed the trash. I called the front desk and all she said was that she will let the area manager know. Ended up putting our dirty towels in the hallway. Very dissatisfied of lazy workers who are in the wrong industry. The next day, directly walked up to the front desk to make sure they get the room properly serviced. Told the lady why and all she said was I don't know anything about the issue. No apologies no I'll take care of it right away nothing! Terrible place to stay for sure! read more

I really have no idea what these fools are talking about. Quite frankly, I was worried before I checked in due to reviews. Thankfully, it must just be their extremely high standards when you pay $75 a night for a room (uh, that's on the cheapest side for a hotel by the way). When I checked in, I was greeted by a very nice young woman at the front desk. She had me checked in in a matter of seconds and I was off to see my room. I was surprised by how spacious my room was. The usual suspects surrounded my king sized bed, cute chair, nightstands, an office desk, TV and BONUS! Fridge & microwave. I can't complain too much especially since this place is in such a great location. I'm here on business, but I am practically across the highway from a shopping center, which includes TJ Maxx and if the breakfast isn't anything to write home about, I can walk on over to IHOP. read more

This is not a classy hotel by anymeans, but it will do in a pinch. The beds are a little hard, the rooms are dated and could stand a real good cleaning. Our bathroom shower had been cleaned, but was still dirty around the top edges. The breakfast is a standard fare continental breakfast OK, but not great. There is a IHOP next door. The best thing about this hotel is it's proximity to the Hospital. You can get to Conroe regional and back without ever having to get on a main road. This made it great while a family member was in the hospital and we needed a local place to stay. For the price of the room, you should get better. The Hampton down the road is slightly more expensive, but a much better place to stay. read more

They were dishonest to us on multiple occasions (saying we didn't pay when we 100% gave them our credit card, and saying that someone else checked in our room under our name). Here we are 10 days later and still no money has been deposited into my account. I called back explained the situation to Sarah & (instead of her listening) she tried to put in a request..again. If I could give a lower rating I would. This hotel has to be the bottom of the barrel of hotels I've ever been to and I've been to quite a few. Thinking the name Wyndham meant something but clearly it's nothing but an equal to a roach motel. The smell of this place is atrocious. The paint is literally peeling off of the walls as you walk down the hall and the room we stayed in has what appears to be dried vomit stains on several places of the floor. The AC is set at 66 but feels like it's blowing 86. The room was over $100 a night so I was thinking it would be decent and like I said with the name Wyndham I actually thought it would be better than decent. Wrong. Not even close. People keep saying 'It's Conroe what do you expect?' Not sure what that means. All I can say is whoever the owner is, you suck and should not be allowed to own a hotel. We had to come from out of town for surgery, and this was recommended as being convenient to the hospital. I can say that I found it to be a very comfortable stay. The room was good sized, the bed was very comfortable, the linens were fresh, and the way that the towels and toiletries were presented was really nice. The staff were all very nice, and made extending my stay very easy. I would recommend this hotel, and will be using again for any extended stays in Conroe. read more

Last minute hotel. We've stayed there decades ago and was not too bad for a hotel of such. A female employee was very kind and helpful. Nothing against her. Once in the elevator I smelled insect/roach spray. Walking down the hallway the walls they were not in the best conditions, smelled like cigarette smoke and animals. As soon has you opened the door it had a mold smell and the floors were wet throughout the room. Cigarette holes on the blanket. Dogs everywhere small and large. Slept on my own blankets and covered my nose because of the smell and covered my ears incase of any bugs. I didn't eat the breakfast but my family did. Once we saw ROACHES I did not eat there. We checked out a day early. We were not staying there any longer, we checked out early. We called the Baymont (reservation) they seemed like they kind of cared but that particular Baymont owner would have to agree to refund something. Received an email they will not refund anything do to the cancellation rules. Hotel seems like it had effects from all the storms/hurricanes in that area. I do not blame any employees they do not have control on how the owner maintains ($) the property. Well lack of. Seems like they do not care about the customers. It was close to where we needed to be. Next time we we get a nicer hotel even if that means driving further and paying more. read more

The young lady working the front desk the evening I arrived was not professional. I asked to have my sheets changed the morning after my first night b/c they were stained and had to ask a second time. The bed was made when I returned but with the same sheets from the night before. Luckily a housekeeper was still on my floor and was able to change the sheets before she left for the day. There was mildew in the bathroom, the floor & walls in bathroom & the walls in bedroom were filthy & the toilet seat was in bad condition. The room was not clean, to the point that I felt I had to Lysol everything. The walls were painted over sporadically. Some people will say "you get what you pay for", but I disagree with that statement. This is the hospitality business and standards should be the same across the board when it comes to offering excellent customer service and clean rooms. Overall, my stay was uncomfortable & I cannot recommend this location. I just wanted to add that I tried to send this review straight to the customer care area of the Baymont site but it would not allow me to submit. read more

First off called to book the room. Was told the rate and gave my credit card to reserve the room. Once arriving to the hotel the front desk informs me the rate has change because they only have 4 rooms left so the owner raised the rate. Thankfully the guy at the front desk did his best to get it back to what I booked the room at. So $90 a night I get in the room and I have brown water pouring out in the tub, toilet and sink. And it smelled like it looked. Moving on to the bed... lumpy, could feel the coils poking out. And on to the pillows... I mean really can't even afford standard sizes pillows?? They are the size of throw pillows. Instead of sleeping I'm writing this review if that tells you something. But on a good note the ac works great and it has a decent tv. read more

Hotel does not live up to the Wyndham name at all! Hotel rooms have an awful smell and feel very muggy. The bathrooms are old and the tile is rundown. Walls are dirty and outdated decor.
