Room 512

Phnominal! I'm a Hilton points girl, so it's all Hilton all the way for us. Love the digital check in/check out, and everything in-between. Our daughter recently moved to Conroe, so one of the first things I did was look for Hilton properties. I was so impressed by this place! I know it's been around about three years, but it looked brand new...both in the lobby/common areas and in the rooms. We stayed in room 512, and since We were going to be there for a while, I grabbed a few groceries to take advantage of the kitchen in the room. The room was very clean, spacious and very comfortable. The staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful when we wanted to extend our stay. I'm attaching pictures of our room (512). Yes I realize there are pics from the business owner, but sometimes it's nice to see reality matches the marketing. :-)

We were a bit nervous coming here because there weren't many reviews but I'm glad we took a chance. The hotel smelled really nice and clean at all hours. The hotel staff- all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is nicely designed and has a lot of great amenities including a little gym area, a computer and printing station, a pool, etc. We got a studio king room with a little kitchen. It was super cute, clean and comfortable. Overall we had a great time here and would stay here again.

I'm a Hilton brand fan girl & points junkie, so I'll skip the basics (service, toiletries, digital key, etc - all great stuff) and get to the specifics of this location! Pros: super clean, beautiful hotel - quite new & they did a great job with this one! Amenities were great - pool, outdoor gas grills, happy hour with snacks & drinks, basketball court, fitness center, and my favorite... FITNESS SUITES with your own private gym in your room! Free breakfast was very good, all the basics but well done. The only con is that there are no in-room safes - I thought I was missing something when I couldn't find it, but I called the front desk and they confirmed that they'll lock your items up at the front desk... but that's not convenient for me at all so I didn't bother. Who wants to go back & forth to the front desk to retrieve valuables (passport, laptop, etc) that they may be using often but want to keep safe otherwise? Minor annoyance but worth noting. Overall I'd definitely stay here again if I had a need to be in the area again!

Have stayed here a few times overall I've had a pleasant experience. A few bad ones but they always address my concerns. I'm not sure you can stay somewhere as often as I do here and not have a few bad moments. Most the the staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms usually are very clean.

What a great place. Large rooms with microwaves, stove tops, large refrigerator and included utensils, pots / pans, plates and cups. Great gym with weights, aerobic equipment, pulleys, kettlebells and more. Pool outside was beautiful with several small palm trees and running water like a small fountain in the pool. They have a full breakfast everyday with various eggs, pastries, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, milk, etc. They also have a dinner menu Monday-Thursday evening. Breakfast and dinner are included. Dinner had things like pasta, salad, chicken, potatoes, green beans, etc plus 2 types of beer on tap and red and white wines - self serve so between 5:30-7:30 pm it's all you can eat or drink.

Very nice room with friendly people... The shower lever on the faucet was a little wobbly, but everything else was good.

The rooms are clean but is a little overpriced. It was an ok place to stay while work was being performed on our house.

It was a tad chilly but the Pool, Grill area and Basketball court looked very nice as well.

We were in town for a coin show and decided to grab a last minute room for three before heading north for SFA to visit my oldest daughter. About 5 o'clock in the evening I pulled up to the lobby and my wife went in looking for a decent rate and got a $180 rate (it's about $260 total charge- $50 hold for incidentals which is refundable, and $210 after local taxes for the room) Very clean and nice "new" feel. It does have a convention meeting area and the staff was very nice from the front desk to the cleaning help. We liked the night lights attached to the bottom of the bed that are motion detection in the event you get up in the middle of the night. Gives you great lighting for your feet but doesn't really disturb the rest of the room. They also have them in the bathroom. Pillows were a bit too mushy in my opinion and the shower heads did not have the pressure I like to have so this one falls just short of top ratings for me. Felt very roomy for two double queens and we had a pretty good view of the front parking lot from our room on 7th floor to keep our car in sight. There is a dining area on site but breakfast is not included in the room fee so you have to pay separate for that. There is a quick convenience area if you want to pay inflated prices for Nicknacks/snacks. They did have two chargers in the self-parking garage, but warning it is quite a long walk across the conference rooms area and you need to bring your room key to gain entry back into the hotel (and also in the elevators here to the rooms). Two level 2 chargers (about 14 miles an hour recharge), with a sign that said 4 hour charge limit. Safe place, decent deal last minute, and nice and cozy feeling inside. I'd say this is more of an on the road stop rather than a destination stop. I will include separate review, but an awesome sushi/hibachi place right next door is also worth a try!

The TownePlace Suites in Conroe had none of that of course! It would be weird if I left a 4-star review if they did! TownePlace Suites was super clean. Almost as it was a brand-new facility. If it is a brand-new place, then it makes sense. If it is not brand-new then the staff does a great job. The studio room has a full-sized fridge, a couple of stovetop burners, microwave, Keurig, and a dishwasher. The room is laid out great with a desk for working. The place is perfect for an extended stay. I am not big on fan on the usual hotel chain breakfast, but I love it when they have bananas and a lot don't it seems anymore. I grabbed a banana and a muffin for my drive. I wasn't expecting much but this muffin was some sort of lemon berry with a lemon curd in the middle. It was delicious! I almost turned around so I could get another. Definetly would stay at again!

The staff were courteous and friendly, and our room had an ample supply of towels, silverware, and dishes. I also love the room having a Keurig, and my Louisiana-raised self really appreciated the Walk-Ons being within walking distance. We stayed in a studio suite, which was perfect for the two of us, but if we had a child with us, it would be a tight fit. If more than two are in a room, a one-bedroom suite (or two bedroom) would have plenty of space for everyone. I'll also note the hotel was extremely quiet, despite its close proximity to 45. There are a ton of shopping places in the area, including a TJ Maxx on the other side of the freeway. If we need to stay in the area again, we'll definitely be back!

However, some of that is just gilding. The best way to describe it is to harken you back to the second apartment you got after college. Not that awful one you signed up for, not knowing any better, where you came to accept the conditions like Stockholm syndrome and eventually name the rats in your walls. But this renovated hotel is more like the one after that. Where they at least gave it a fresh coat of paint before move it and the carpet was changed. Overall the place was very clean, albeit with small rooms and lacking amenities. However, it was the cheapest in Conroe, so understandable. If you are only sleeping in the room and not planning to hang out or be with family there, book it. The staff had it ups and down. Friendly over night folks, but they were in the midst of training day time people and each had an attitude. It was especially annoying to have to get new room cards on 4 occasions. Overall, 3 is somewhat generous, but still above a 2 star joint.

Not that our room was terrible, it wasn't like the other Fairfield Inns I've stayed at previously. Google said this hotel was built in 2010 and it shows some wear and tear for sure. Check-in went ok. The girl at the desk wasn't overly friendly but that's ok. Our room was ok. Smaller than other Fairfields. Decor was "meh". Beds were comfy though. Shower was poor: pink mold on shower head, wall that the shower head was on was cracked in half and they slapped some caulk on it. Bathroom door was closed upon entering and when we opened it, we were overwhelmed with the smell of bleach. Mini fridge, microwave and small coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was good. "Egg McMuffins" sandwiches were a nice surprise. Other items included: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, muffins, yogurt, cereal, etc. Coffee was good as well. We swam in the outdoor pool. It's a touch on the small side but that didn't bother us because we were the only ones there. Outdoor furniture was old. When we were checking out, they began testing the fire alarm, which was alarming for sure. No heads up with that. No employee checking us out either. Just left our keys on the desk.
