Loud AC unit affected our sleep, plus matress caved in a bit. Would never stay there again!

Please note: manager Andrea fixed my problem by speaking directly to me. This hotel charged my account almost 500 dollars for two nights, and neither Hilton Honors, nor the hotel manager will speak to me on the phone! Copious emails, with no answers to my questions. Six customer service staff all gave platitudes, and I'm sorry, but could not explain charges. I'm at a loss. The manager has never tried to call me. Hilton, post Covid, is like screw you, instead of how can we help you. NOT ONE MORE DIME AT A HILTON PROPERTY. read more

Do not stay here!!! Front desk issued a a strange man a key to my room who proceeded to use and walk in. I asked him to leave and he did step into the hallway stating it was his room. Inquired about property left...I checked and there was none. I didn't feel safe and asked for another room and was given one. At 8pm the manager and a witness knock on my door and inform me the police could come by for questioning. I'm a Diamond member. Gross incompetence! Don't stay here. Trash! read more

This is a typical cookie cutter Hampton Inn. The rooms at this location include a mini fridge and a microwave - not all Hampton Inns to. No complaints with the comfort of the bed, or cleanliness of the room, bathroom etc. Like most Hampton Inns, it only has a walk-in shower, but no bathtub - no big deal. The parking lot is extremely well lit, it's in a good neighborhood, and right around the corner from the Conroe Police station, so no worries about safety, or anything happening to your car overnight. There are plenty of places to eat within a mile of the hotel. That's the good part. Now for the not so good... I highly recommend getting a room on the 4th floor so no one is above you. Hampton Inns are notoriously loud. (if you use the Hilton Honors app to check in, you can see the floor plan and pick your own room, and even use your phone to unlock the door). I also recommend picking a room on the backside of the hotel, away from the highway. It's quiet, and you get a nice view of a pine forest. It's VERY cold in the hallways and in the room. It was a nice 68 degrees outside, but I had to run the heater because it was so cold inside. On one morning of my visit, housekeeping knocked, waited one second, and then tried to open the door. Luckily, I had the metal door hook latched (the extra deadbolt does not keep housekeeping out - I did not know that). The maintenance guys and housekeeping are very loud. I was awakened on Christmas morning AND the morning AFTER Christmas at 8am by maintenance guys doing some painting or some repairs in the room across from me. Repeated slamming doors, and what seemed like very loud talking in the hallway. The house keepers arrive later, but they also let the doors slam, and talk loudly to each other from two or three rooms away. You can hear EVERY word uttered in the hallway. Typical hot buffet breakfast served until 10am, but they start putting the seats up on the tables around 930am to try and discourage you from staying too long. Hampton breakfasts aren't worth your time anyway. Powdered eggs with bacon one day, and pre-made omelets with heavily processed, frozen sausage patties the next day. Rinse and repeat, over and over. Some cereal, a waffle maker, and a little bit of fruit. read more

Dirty, dingy and sleazy. Holes in carpet. Two women at front desk staff give real creepy vibes. Room smells stagnant. Toilet bowl in room is most uncomfortable toilet to sit on. It does not accommodate the male body correctly and I am forced to have parts touching the inside of toilet bowl. Disgusting. Walls are thin and I can hear light movement and normal volume talk from the next hotel door. Dirty, dingy and sleazy pretty much sums it up. Hopefully no bed bugs!!! they have rats! they have bedbugs! they have ROACHES! *pictures included* room & bathtub was dirty, i tried to get housekeeping to change the sheets. all i got was "me no engless" it was noon, why are all the housekeepers just laughing amongst themselves not getting anything done? I used to stay here every year when I would go to the Renaissance Festival. I usually enjoyed my stay here but as I checked in this time I searched my bed as I do every time I stay at a hotel and found they had bedbugs. I packed all my stuff and got a refund and left I will never come back here. Bedbugs are not a joke. If you bring them into your home good luck ever getting rid of them. They will ruin your life. So always check your bed when you travel. read more

We stayed here this past weekend. They were fully booked both nights with weddings, Renaissance Festival, etc. I wish I had gotten their names from the front desk. There was a woman at night and a man during the day. They were both so friendly and welcoming and helpful. This hotel was fabulous!!! Their free breakfast was excellent! Their rooms were super clean and fully stocked. They had excellent tv channels with plenty of shows to choose from including HBO. My DH and I were both extremely pleased with this hotel and will absolutely stay here again!! read more

We stayed here in March 2020 right as covid hit. This particular location was a bit outdated. Some of the carpets looked worn beyond my liking. I even asked to see some other rooms. Yes, I Karen'd the heck out of this visit. The other vacant room wasn't better so we stayed where we were. The only salvation was the morning breakfasts. We did enjoy that. Fresh breakfast is always a winner in my book. But, we will likely stay somewhere else next time. read more

We stayed here in June 2019 on the weekend, cost $132 nightly. Room was nice, an expected size. Room and bathroom were clean. Internet was working and easy to setup. Connected my Apple TV to the LG easily. Hold the "input" key on the Directv remote to select HDMI2. Worked fine. Breakfast was typical. Not a fan but something in your gut. Although this was close to I-45, no issues with noise. I'd stay here again. read more

Not what you see online on any hotel Booking sit. Completely filthy, disgusting. The previous 4 star reviews must have been written by their own staff because I was not the only one in the lobby demanding a room change and refund. DO NOT STAY HERE. Our room lights did not work. Phone did not work. We had black mold in shower tiles, and many large sticky black spots on the carpet as well as food splattered in the walls. Nightmare. read more

Stayed here twice in a 3-week period for 12 nights total. Room was clean and everything worked. Bed was comfortable. Hotel staff were all very friendly. Not a 5-star review due to the amount of noise in the hotel. Noise from outside, especially the tire store employees that use the hotel parking lot, was extremely loud at times. Room walls have zero insulation as you can easily hear the conversations of people in the rooms next to you. read more

"Disappointed" is the most accurate word I can use to describe my experience at this property. I'll start by stating that I do not have high expectations for the City of Conroe since I have stayed in nearly ten hotels in the area over the last two years. This time I elected to spend a little more money to stay at one of the Hilton properties due to my Honors membership. Sadly, the money was wasted because this hotel is double the price for the same quality available elsewhere in the area. It started with (what appeared to be) a drug deal occuring in the parking lot by a suspicious car circling the building several times until a guest met them for an exchange while I unloaded my car. Then I was checked-in by a lady wearing a tshirt - she was super nice but not dressed like the Hilton employees I'm accustomed to meeting. I also only received a bottle of water, not the Honors welcome bag. The room was hot when I entered it because the air was off, but did cool down quickly when I turned it on. The floors throughout the room squeaked like I was staying in an old timey Western themed haunted house even with the carpet. The desk chair was 100 years old and virtually destroyed (see included photos); however, the room was very clean and the restroom was sanitary. That being said, all of this can be overcome with a good night sleep, but that never happened. The mattress was as comfortable as a cement slab - so firm I considered sleeping on the floor to have more cushion. It also had a set of minature pillows that resemble throw pillows instead of king or queen pillows. The a/c cycling on was so loud it would alarm me every time it happened (until I switched the fan to 'on' mode for constant noise instead of the variation of quiet to noisy). And possibly the most irritating sound came from the toilet.. after a flush it would boisterously whistle for 65 seconds while the tank refilled. It is so loud that I worried about the neighboring rooms thinking the fire alarm was sounding, or a pack of dogs thinking they're being summond from miles around to surround the building. When it finally stopped, I had to pop my ears to rebalance the sonic pressure to the a/c commotion. I literally, and I mean 'literally,' did not get a wink of sleep until after 5am; only to have to be up at 630. The breakfast with cheese omelettes and bacon redeemed what would have been a two-star review. TLDR: I will not stay here again. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. I am not sure who was working @ 2:44am on 7/23/19 but they would not answer the door bell to open for booking. I checked and they weren't full so I ended up going next door to the stay at the Halliday inn express. As a Hilton rewards member I am extremely disappointed. read more

We stayed here based on previous reviews, but I would not stay here again. 1) The hotel did NOT smell good. It actually smelled like musty smoke. I didn't ask but I wonder if they still allow smoking in this hotel because the scent was so strong. In any case, our room smelled horrible. I immediately knew there was mold but didn't see any right off the bat when I walked in. It wasn't until I turned around to lock the door that I saw it surrounding the doorway. We got in late or else we would have switched rooms or possibly even hotels. 2) The A/C unit was malfunctioning so it was FREEZING in there. I bumped the temp up 2 degrees at 2am and then went back to bed. I dozed off and woke up a few minutes later yelling "fire!" at my husband! After both of us jumped out of bed and turned on the lights we realized that the heater had turned on and was burning the dust, lint, etc. that was on the furnace. We just turned the whole thing off and went to bed but the moldy smell was now a very strong burnt moldy smell. I slept with the sheet over my mouth and nose as an air filter. 3) I took a shower in the morning and found more mold in the bathroom. Also, I the bathroom door would not shut. It was just my husband and I and our 2 kids so no big deal, but if we had been sharing a room with anyone else this would not have been ok at all. UPDATE: After the hotel seeing my review they contacted me and asked what they could do to make things right. I told them "fix the problems, especially the mold" and they said they would send me a gift card for my troubles. It's been months and the gift card never came. I think they were hoping I would change my review. I have. It is now updated to "1-star" instead of 2. The only reason I gave this hotel 2 stars is because of the breakfast. It was well stocked, warm, and tasty, plus the coffee was fresh and made well. read more

Great location. Really good gym. Very quiet, and somehow, the hotel just smells really good. It's new, clean, and there's plenty of high and low seating in breakfast area. I stay in a lot of these hotels and this is one of the nicer ones. I'd definitely stay here again, though if i were on a budget I might be forced to try another hotel. Anyway, enjoy! read more

The hotel was dirty. The rugs needed replacing, tiles are cracked and had scuff marks and the floors needed sweeping. It looks like they are running out of money, the waffle mix was mixed with so much water you couldn't make a proper waffle, the powdered eggs were also runny and the beds are hard. The picture below is of the floor in the lobby bathroom and the second is of the rug right out our door. Will not return. read more

My husband and I were in town for a wedding and stayed at the Hampton Inn for two nights. I am in a wheelchair so we stayed in a wheelchair-accessible room. The room was clean and comfortable, but what impressed me the most was that Hampton Inn sees the whole picture when catering to their wheelchair-bound clientele. Let me explain...in every other hotel chain I have ever stayed in, the rooms were wheelchair-accessible as far as having wider doors, a roll-in shower and lower light switches. But they all had platform beds that I had to practically climb into. But the bed in our room at Hampton Inn was at a regular height so that I had no problem getting in and out of it. That alone is worth 5 stars to me! If/when we travel out of town again, Hampton Inn will be on the top of my list of hotels to stay in. read more

There was coffee at all times in the lobby. Breakfast was great every morning. I made sure to get up every morning and I usually do not eat breakfast in the morning. You can't hear what is going on in the next room and I know that the hotel was booked. It was an awesome stay. Thanks for the awesome stay. read more
