I'm old enough to remember when the Marriott brand stood for quality and comfort. This place did not deliver. The staff were friendly, but the room was pretty dirty. The toilet was messy, and the bathtub looked dirty. The beds were not comfortable and the pillows had no loft. They have free breakfast which was decent. It was busy and the poor staff couldn't keep up with keeping the food stocked. So if you decide to get breakfast here, go early. read more

The stay at this hotel was sufficient. Check in was easy, breakfast was good in the morning. They usually keep coffee on stand by in the lobby throughout the day. The room was a little underwhelming. The bath tub didn't drain very well, not sure if it was due to the angle of the tub but there's always water left in the tub. The side dresser top drawer was broken and was very hard to open. The doors and Walls are a little thin. Hearing people walk through the hall. Not sure if my upstairs neighbor was stomping or just heavy footed but the sound of walking above was very distracting and did not help with sleeping. They have shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. I ran out throughout my stay and requested more conditioner but never received it. If you're in a pinch staying here isn't bad, but not the best stay. read more

there are not enough words to express how much I hate this hotel. My husband's company booked us here for a corporate meeting (they must hate their team) - it's gotta be a property from the 1970's and possibly older. And I am confident that it hasn't been renovated since the 2000's. The carpet may have been replaced within the last 10 years and the kitchenette looks like it was redone within the last decade, as well. The bathrooms are all clearly original, with low-boy toilets, super low vanities and low step over tubs. The fixtures are ancient and there is terrible staining/damage around the bathroom walls/floors. HVAC is via what is likely the original PTAC through-window unit. The staff seems nice and I haven't seen the public areas (my hubs checked us in) - but the rooms and corridors are AWFUL. Marriott needs to come do a PIP here ASAP. read more

I booked a room here for one night & got the King size bed with sofa pullout with my little family. We checked in & got to our room and immediately noticed the smell of the room was a little off. I almost thought we got a smoking approved room so I called front desk & they assured us it was non smoking. Then I noticed hair on the bathroom counter and how dirty it was (looked like crumbled snacks & more hair all around the edge of the bed) and I knew whoever cleaned the rooms wasn't doing a good job. So I pull out the sofa bed & noticed the entire top was covered in pee stains. We went downstairs & asked for another room. The girl was really nice & gave us a room right next door. I was skeptical but gave it a shot. So we walk in to the next room, and I was a little skeptical at this point so I lifted up the bed mattress away from the box spring & found a vape pen. Then I pulled out the sofa bed and crumbs fell everywhere & saw a lighter fall out as well. That's when we packed our belongings and left. I was told I'd have to talk to a manager the next Monday for a refund. It was the second Marriott we stayed at in a week (stayed at one on a trip to Southern Cali week before) and we had a similar experience. We immediately checked in to a Hyatt Place and was blown away with the comparison of how clean Hyatt was all around. I wasn't going to leave a lengthy review but I will NEVER stay @ a Marriott ever again. We had a great stay when we were here visiting in Utah. This hotel was clean and had everything you would need. The mini kitchen was a huge plus since having a little one it made it easy to keep milk in the fridge and microwave. The girls at the front always said hi every time we came in and out. The location was great too. Rooms are definitely not sound proof so you can hear the freeway outside but it wasn't too bad. Would definitely recommend! read more

It's Saturday May 15 2021. Whoever is working the front desk is an absolute idiot who obviously has no professional skills. We just got into our room & are there for only 5 minutes. Our 1 year old son is getting ready to go to bed and I am carrying him and I hear a hard pounding and ask my husband if someone just pounded on the door. He said no. Then the phone rings. It's the stupid man at the front desk. His report is that he had complaints of someone constantly stomping on the floor. I'm confused because we have been gone and only just got in. I say "Oh I'm sorry it is probably my 1 year old son they're hearing I'm trying to put him to bed right now." His words back to me are exactly this. "Yeah well I'm gonna need him to calm down." WHAT?! You have no better word choices to use than that?? You can't politely ask if we can maybe keep him from stomping? Who hired this FOOL? What do you want me to do to him? Tie him up with a rope and tape his mouth with duct tape?? How UNPROFESSIONAL can you get. Families DONT STAY HERE. Unless you're okay with unsympathetic assholes working the front desk to call you in the most RUDE WAY POSSIBLE telling you that he needs your 1 year old son to calm down. Just average Hotel , Why Pay for Dirty Rooms which was not good at all?? Well We stayed for the week and Monday was not good because we stayed at their other hotel across the driveway and we could not get any sleep because its right by the highway. We had a room that was facing the highway and they said they just built the place but they did spend the money for excellent quality windows for sound proofing. Then they transferred us to this place and , and then we checked out on Sunday Well the last night they just didn't clean the room . It was dirty beyond belief . I am traveling on business and am staying at this property. The property is clean, convenient and has great amenities. But what has really made my stay exceptional is the staff. They are welcoming and helpful. Clayton went out of his way to help us feel welcome. He helped a resolve an issue with my booking that was caused by my company. He was so gracious. Amy was also wonderful; she recognized me a day into my stay and indicated she was pleased we ended up at this property. Its nice to stay somewhere that the staff recognizes and acknowledges me. First, the room (mostly the bathroom) was in disrepair. There was a mystery puddle on the bathroom floor, someone tried to fix a hole in the door with drywall mud and smudges on the wall. Secondly, I had been traveling with very little sleep and needed a goods night rest, when housekeeping decided at 7 PM they needed to do a room check and came right in! After talking to the "manager on duty" she informed me that she has nothing to do with housekeeping and I'd have to track them down and ask why they came in my room. It wasn't a good experience. The heater in my room didn't work. The night auditor didn't tell me anything about the facility, just simply handed me my key cards and credit card back. When I went to check out, no one was at the desk. I waited several minutes and no one showed up, so I left my key cards on the desk and left. I'm a driver and needed to get going. Plus I've stayed at Marriotts nationwide for over 400 nights in the last 5 years or so. So I was confident everything would be fine. 30 mins later my wife lets me know they called because my credit card was declined. They tried charging the rewards card I have on my app instead of the card I handed the night auditor. So I had to return to take care of that. Again, I waited at the desk for someone to grace me with their presence. Finally got that taken care of and left. I didn't get rewarded for this stay on my rewards account, so I filed a missing stay request and mentioned my dissatisfaction. The TownePlace staff responded by telling me I needed to update my account with a current card. Never said anything about the poor customer service or the non-functioning heater. My card doesn't need updated. It needs a payment made to it when I get a chance. I've done this many times in the past with other Marriotts without issue, so the manager needs to look internally. Given the response, I can see why the customer service is lacking there. They didn't even spell my name right in their response and didn't address their issues. Just tried to put the blame on me. I didn't get credit for this stay on my rewards account. I filed for a missing stay twice. The second time they said my stay didn't qualify and sent me the paragraphs for reference. I read through them and none of the conditions applied, so I responded asking what specifically made it not qualify. No response. MARRIOTT REWARDS PROGRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE was EXTREMELY poor this time. It might be time to file a better business bureau complaint. The receipt they loaded to my account shows I was refunded, but I was still charged for the room. So somebody got my money!! read more

I came here for a conference. Respond company book for us from August 1 to August 4. My flight arrived way early. I went to checkin and I was very please with the welcome of the staff. They did not hesitate or give me a hard time like other hotel about checking in that late. Morning came, I got called from front desk, indicated that there will be an extra 1 day charge due to I check in early. I said "NO". I was no informed in advance about the extra 1 day charge. She said she will speak with her supervisor and called me back and let me know that I will be charge for $90+ tax & fees. NOT VERY HAPPY WITH THIS. One of the reasons to book at a Marriott property is that they always have clean rooms and a nice bed. Not here. I booked two rooms. My mother's room was nasty. She laid down to take a nap and the pillows smelled like old fat man sweat. Yuck! Upon inspection it was clear the sheets and pillow cases were not changed but the bed was made up. Then walking into the bathroom it became clear that the room had not been cleaned. There was hair all over the shower. Gross!! I doubt it was an isolated incident. So either management knows about it (they do now, as we complained) or they have a training problem. If it were me, I would fire whoever was supposed to clean that room but cheated management by claiming to have cleaned it and cheated their customers by creating a horrible impression of the hotel. (3.50 stars) While hardly memorable, for either good or bad, the Marriott TownePlace Suites Orem property was clean, pleasant and quite convenient to my client's location. The rooms are a bit undersized as suites, and while fully functional, some features (such as the television) are poorly placed. Heating, water pressure and temperature (2nd floor) were very good. Television channel selection was limited. Outstanding Wi-Fi reception inexplicably denigrated on the third day of my stay. I found the free continental breakfast to be adequate, and the lobby coffee actually passable. While the mattress was comfortably firm, the sea of too-soft pillows took some adjustment to be made comfortable. Because this location allows dogs, I did a careful inspection for fleas, and found none. The Marriott TownePlace Suites Orem offers plenty of parking, and easy access from I-15. The front desk was friendly and eager-to-please; their magnetic strip door keys, not so much. Having to "recharge" both room keys four times in three days tells me that their security system is in serious need of overhaul (yes, the keys were kept far away from my cellphone). Scenery of the surrounding area is beautiful, even in snowy early-March when everything is monochromatic black (rock) and white (snow). I would stay here again. read more

My company set me up here during a trip to American Fork ( just a tad north). I assumed it'd be a run-of-the-mill, mid-grade motel-ish place. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, the nearly full-sized kitchen, the large work area and the adequate complimentary breakfast. But more than that, the service is what i base this review on. My first night there, the folks in the room above me--apparently a troupe of tap dancers and cloggers--were apparently awake all night long, slamming doors, shouting, running, rearranging the furniture, and (so it seemed) rehearsing for a street performance. In my sleep deprived haze, I came to the conclusion that the room above me was actually an entire floor of night owl housekeepers doing the laundry, going in and out, etc. (I know: at 2 a.m.). Turns out it was neither; just a large family from Asia visiting Orem, UT (uh, okay...), and in the throes of jet lag. The next day, I told the front desk that i needed to change rooms for my next--& last--night and they didn't flinch for an instant; the lady at the front desk put me on the top floor away from that room and offered to keep my luggage in a conference room while I was gone for the day and place it in the room once it was free. Because I was in two rooms I can say with confidence that the place is clean, updated, has free WiFi, a lovely bed, and generally nice amenities. My only wish (that the hotel can't control) is that there'd be at least one good restaurant nearby. As it stands, there are regular fast food joints, a rather creepy grocery store, and a very strange sushi place run by Chinese people who served me salmon when I said "SAKI" (maybe it's a Utah thing). (Oh, and the "Git SomeGuns 'N Ammo" store next door made me kinda nervous...) read more

This hotel was very clean, had a friendly staff, and provided a good breakfast. I stayed here for an event in the next town. This hotel had a reduced rate for the event, and also provided shuttle service to/from the event location (I had a rental car so I didn't use it). I like the suite rooms because they have a full sized refrigerator and cook top. I like being able to grab some drinks and cook a quick meal. They had the complete set up and they kept the area very clean- great house keeping. It's an easy on/off the highway and there is a gas station directly next door. read more

Great hotel!!! Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and have everything a traveler would need. This is an ideal hotel for travelers that are in a location on a long-term basis. There is a mini-kitchen with a full size refrigerator and freezer, stove, dishwasher, sink, cabinets...it's wonderful!!! The hotel is right off the freeway and is located in an excellent location across from a grocery store and next to a gas station. There is a weight room, indoor pool and spa and laundry facilities. The conference room had everything that we needed and was an ideal size. The complimentary breakfast was WONDERFUL! Friendly staff and very welcoming. But dirty common areas and very run down. We could hear our upstairs guest all night long walking with clogs or bricks. The breakfast was just a frozen orange and bitter tasting muffin. Right off that highway if you like location. read more

We had a mixed bag staying at this Marriott chain: Pros -new building -kitchenettes in suites -pets allowed Cons -next door to a shooting range (you can hear when someone is firing large calibers) -compact, box rooms with mind-numbingly bad wall art -$100 NON-REFUNDABLE pet fee -very average continental junkfood breakfast DEALBREAKERS -breakfast both mornings they ran out of the only fresh items offered: boiled eggs and oatmeal leaving only carb munchies and corn syrup muffins; front desk admitted to being understaffed and underprepared for a full house of guests and did nothing to make up for it -coffee is NOT served all day in the lobby redeeming feature: -Hannah at the front desk when we checked in was spectacularly friendly and helpful...then her associates dropped the ball the rest of the weekend... read more

We came to Utah for Thanksgiving weekend to spend some time with our family. We chose to stay at this TownPlace since it was close to them and we used our Marriott rewards points, so it was FREE ;) Can't beat that! We had a late check-in time and all our requests were met. (top floor, extra pillows, 2 queens) Our family had a room right next door, so that was convenient too! The room was nice and spacious. We love having the kitchenette and dining table too. These rooms are so well worth the price. New hotel and easy access from the interstate. It has many dining choices and shopping close by. Our room had the best beds! Love the comfortable sleep! Our family had a broken thermostat, so went down to the front desk to request assistance. Since it was a holiday weekend and the fix wasn't simple, they moved them to another room down the hall. It was a one BR suite! Awesome upgrade for no additional charge. We went to the lobby one night looking for hot chocolate and the front desk went out of their way to open the doors of the food area and get us some packets. Another time I needed to take some pills and the only thing I can drink with it, is OJ. Since the breakfast area was closed, they gave me one from the lobby cooler...for free! Loved the friendly staff! Pool area was clean and well maintained. Hot tub was perfect temp and the pool was enjoyable too. Ran out of towels though ;( Breakfast was awesome. Love the waffle makers...one large or 4 mini ones. Delish! Wide variety from cereal, eggs, yogurt, hot oatmeal, juices and breads. Convenient hours too. Stayed Friday-Tuesday. On Friday we used four towels for the pool and left them in a pile for housekeeping to pick up (if you hang them up they won't replace them). They were still there Friday morning. Housekeeping came, emptied the trash can and then left. That's it. Our key cards kept not working. At the end of our trip we had 10 keys cards when we started out with 2 because they kept having to give us new ones. The breakfast was great but it's more of a breakfast nook than a breakfast bar so you're all kind of squished in a small area while preparing your breakfast. All that being said - the staff was super kind, especially at the front desk, and the beds are super comfy. I loved the space of the rooms and that there was a stove, fridge and dishwasher. read more

Stayed at this place after 5 days of tent camping with 3 kids and it was like heaven! The service was ok, had to go get the sheets for the hide a bed couch from the front office instead of someone bringing them to our room and the key cards did not work at all. The double queen suite is awesome for the price! Full kitchen and dishes, each queen bed has it's own room with a tv, plus a pull out couch for the younger children. Right next to the i15. Maverick is right next door. Very convenient to get around Utah. The room was very clean and the kitchen would be nice for longer stays. Loved the layout of the rooms. The staff at the desk was very friendly and allowed an early check in. Breakfast is included although I haven't tried it. Only downside I found was the apparently close by fire department that went by twice to get to the emergency. Not during the night though so it wasn't a problem. I will be staying here again when I'm traveling through the area. read more

Very friendly staff and went out of their way to be helpful. Upon arrival to our room there was a used Q-Tip on the kitchen counter. We were given 6 towels but no hand towels & one wash cloth. Breakfast was the same both days, not sure if that's normal but if I was staying for a week that would get old. I don't sweat the small stuff, so what really got me is the road noise. We initially had a room facing the freeway and it sounded like the window was open. We moved rooms the next day, but since this place is surrounded by roads it did not make much difference. NOT PET FRIENDLY!! I had my dog in his kennel in the room for 2 hours while I was in a meeting. I get back after my meeting and my keycard doesn't work. I proceed to the front desk to get a new key, they tell me I can't get in my room cause my dog did damage. After being locked out for 30 minutes they finally take me to the room to show me, and somehow my dog is out of his kennel but the door to the kennel is shut, also was a blanket all ripped up inside of the kennel. I know for a fact that someone let him out and ripped up a blanket and put it in his kennel. It was a set up. The kennel was closed and he was loose! How can that happen if someone didn't do it? While he was out he dug up some carpet, which he has done in the past, he's still a pup, so that's why I made sure he was in his kennel. A piece of the carpet was loose and I informed the front desk 3 days before this happened and they said they'd take care of it, of course it never got addressed. Someone let him out egging him on to do damage. So now I'm being charged for damage to the carpet as well as a new blanket. This is Very shady place. When I was locked out of the room they said I couldn't go in until I gave them another cards info to pay for it, so they knowingly left an unattended pup in a room and wouldn't let me in til I paid. Giving him more time to do more damage. you have a pet do not stay here. read more

We love this location when we visit Utah! It is close to Provo AND Salt Lake. Its right off the freeway which is very convenient. There are also several places to eat right by the hotel and even a gas station making fueling up car and people very efficient.
