Lots to like about this hotel. First of all, the room the clean & comfortable & the bathroom is nice & spacious. Jacob at the check-in desk is one of the nicest, friendliest people you will ever meet. I arrived early so our room wasn't ready, but he offered to hold on to our luggage as a courtesy. The lobby is bright with high ceilings & the breakfast buffet is definitely a nice time saver with a good range of hot food, cold food, toast, bagels & juice. Book early because this particular weekend, they were completely sold out by the time we arrived & full price rooms were nearly $350 per night. Luckily we paid a lot less booking thru the Hyatt app. Parking structure is next door. read more

We were at the Utah Valley Convention Center (across the street) and only had time to find a quick snack within walking distance. From the moment I walked in, the two kind employees at the front desk, were both warm and welcoming to offer assistance. Knowing that most hotels have a snack area to make purchases, I inquired and the front desk guided me to the area. The Hyatt Place offers a great selection of beverages and snacks for purchase. They had exactly what I was looking for :) Additionally, there's a section for toiletries, in case you need travel sized items. I'd like to thank Dani for her cheerful smile and courteous assistance. I am a loyal Hyatt rewards member and even though I wasn't staying as a Hyatt Place guest for lodging, I still received excellent customer service from three employees during my short visit. Very nice, great location. Only complaint is the parking... was told could park on street for free and that the police "don't usually ticket you for that"... ummmm, what?? There were signs everywhere indicating 2 hour parking ONLY. Breakfast is no longer complimentary. The lock on the bathroom door would stick, I even got stuck in the bathroom and had to ask my husband to lift the door (from the outside) so I could unlock the door... good thing I wasn't traveling alone. Bed was incredibly comfortable so that made up for the bathroom mishap I guess. read more

Despite this place having the parking under construction, we loved our stay here. Very clean hotel and very helpful staff. My only complaint is that I wasn't warned about the parking until after I had already booked the hotel room. You have to walk a 1/2 block to park or pay $20 a day for covered parking. After we figured it all out at the front desk, it actually wasn't a big deal at all. But a warning would've been nice. read more

The hotel is new, modern feel, clean and inviting. Checkin was seamless and fast. Staff was friendly, and helpful. Room rate (at the time of booking) was $109/night.  Parking is free and was easy to access. Though the hotel was at full occupancy, we did not encounter any difficulty finding a parking spot. They also have a exercise room, small outdoor pool and hot tub. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Living room has a nice desk with lots of outlets for computer or phone charging, coffee maker, small fridge and large L shaped couch. Bathroom is clean and bright, water pressure was ok. Breakfast is included with a variety of options that rotate daily. Selection was top notch and ranged from cage free scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, steel cut oats, hot grains, yogurt, fresh fruit, variety of juices, coffee, tea, waffles and other carb offerings. Overall, I'm pleased with the service that we received from the staff and the amenities provided. This hotel is conveniently located near the convention center, restaurants and convenience stores. Would absolutely stay here again when visiting Provo. read more

Our family of 4 drove to Provo for our kids' hockey tournament. We arrived a day earlier than our (mandatory) reservations for the tournament, so we stayed at Hyatt Place. We were able to get a same day reservation while driving. The hotel is new. The room was clean & spacious. We even entertained a few hockey friends up there in the room before dinner. The free breakfast in the AM was great. A gentleman at breakfast was helpful and in a great mood (& he said it was his first day working there!). Here's another great example of the staff: I left behind a charging cord for my portable speaker, and the staff found it. They saved for 5 days until I recalled where I had left it, and they are mailing it back to me. Pretty great of them to do that. read more

Stayed in Provo for one night as we were passing through Utah on a road trip. Hyatt Place was located just a short walk from downtown and was a clean/comfortable hotel to stay in. Parking was behind the hotel on site. Had to go through a little bit of road construction to get there but it wasn't a hassle. Breakfast was grab & go (due to COVID restrictions) and they offered a decent range of options. Room/Bathroom were clean and spacious. Comfortable bedding. Great location off of the Main Street of downtown. Walkable options of lots of restaurants in the area. If I ever find myself in Provo again I would definitely stay here! read more

Beautiful hotel, minus the horrible customer service (Shane). Minus the 6AM construction noise that the manager Joe Pepper claims did not begin until 7AM. Which he wasn't in my room at 6AM joe didn't start work until 7AM so how could he know what I was experiencing. Poor management conduct, I was rudely awaken by dump trucks and construction equipment outside my room window. Out of all the rooms in the hotel Shane decided to book me in room 439, Furthest most room at the farthest most point of the hotel hallway. I'm not asking for any apologies but I'm asking that you retrain your staff. The next time a customer explains that the rate was $101 on the Hyatt place website plus taxes do not tell them you can not honor that rate, but instead book it online. Worst customer service in the hotel industry. read more

We were charged $85 for a "pet fee" without having been informed and we didn't have a pet! There was no conversation, no investigation of any kind to verify the presence of a dog, no informing us at checkout that we were being charged. I only realized we were charged when I was reviewing my banking activity. I called Hyatt right away and it took forever for reception to bring up our information. Then, I was left on hold and forgotten about, so I had to call back. It was then I was told "a housekeeper heard barking coming from your room, so that's why you were charged." What kind of ridiculousness is this!? We didn't check in with a pet! We only stayed one night, a total of about 12 hours in fact, and at some point in this short amount of time a staff member "heard" a dog barking so they just go ahead and charge us without verifying or speaking with us? It's pretty reasonable to assume this staff member misheard (we do have 2 young children), or assumed the wrong room #. Yet we're not given the benefit of the doubt. To make matters worse, I was told no one on the premises had the authority to reverse the charge and I'd have to wait until Monday (today is Friday) to speak to a manager. When an establishment makes a mistake, there should be no time wasted to fix it. Despite the cleanliness, comfort, breakfast, and location (all 5 stars), I'm leaving this negative review because the customer service has fallen very very short. Definitely not a family friendly hotel. I called the front desk asking if their pool would be open during my trip before we arrived. (I canceled another hotel because their pool would be closed.) They told me the pool would be open so we paid an extra $50 a night for this hotel. Second day here they close the pool for maintenance. Never mentioned it when we checked in. Never mentioned it over the phone. Parking is a joke. They warn you about it, but they do not warn the construction will begin before 7 AM. It's a high-rise parking structure so the construction noise is very loud at that time. I'm very surprised they let them start working that early. Avoid this hotel. The Marriott across the street is nice. Many nice places to stay in the area. Don't get sucked into this trap. They basically lied to get me to stay here. They knew I was calling for the pool and my kids would want to use it during our vacation. The smugness of the hotel clerk definitely didn't help. She acted like the emptying of the pool was general maintenance that would be conducted weekly--during a drought of course. I guess Marriott really is better. Some of the staff was helpful and professional and the room was clean, but I could have found those things and an open pool somewhere else. Maybe good for business if you enjoy construction noise at 6am, but avoid for families. (Construction noise started before 6:15 AM today.) read more

My experience here was great. Location is right in the middle of town, so if you have a son or daughter student living nearby, it's easy for them to visit you. Parking was across the street at the Marriott because the Hyatt lot is still under construction. They charge $10 per night usually for the parking, but it's complimentary for Globalist status. Pool closes at 10:00, so I didn't get to take advantage of it. Super quiet at night but morning downtown traffic begins after 7:00 am, as you might expect on weekdays. Very clean hotel and rooms. Both beds and pillows were very comfortable in my room. I'll definitely stay here again. read more

I keep giving this place chances and it keeps disappointing. Worst Covid response I experienced. I had cancelled travel plans to Paris, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Provo. The only hotel to not offer a refund? Hyatt Place Provo. The manager was rude and he avoided my calls. Previous stay I was given a room on the main level. I was awakened every morning by someone running on the treadmill. Definitely a noisy place. Try other options in the area if at all possible. read more

Accessing the hotel was a joke. I can understand that the parking needs to be behind the building and there's some construction going on. However, there was little direction as to what entrance to use and the entire parking lot was covered in ice, making it extremely unsafe to walk on. Also not ideal that the parking lot isn't lit at night, so you can't even see where you're going. I called the front desk to make sure they were aware, they said they would take care of it. Woke up to the exact same experience. Told the front desk again. They didn't seem to care. I hope no one got hurt due to their negligence. There was also no place for my dog to go to the bathroom, which was frustrating given I had to pay $75 to have him with me. I've never paid that kind of pet fee and have had much better experiences. Would not recommend staying here. I won't be back. read more

You may say it's unfair to judge a hotel during this "pandemic" but I think they way they handle this situation speaks volumes about their overall hospitality practices. First off, their pool, gym and continental breakfast were all closed. No warning either. They only let us know this upon checking in. Second of all, their toilet paper was so cheap, you could see through it. Don't they understand the cheaper the TP the more people will have to use of it just to get the job done?!? The room itself was nice enough. The shower was probably one of the best I have used at a hotel. The bathroom looked as if it had barely been wiped down but not deep cleaned. I'm pretty sure the complimentary lotion was half used and there was a stain of some sort (looked like gum?) stuck to the carpet by the bed. The parking lot (not easily accessed) looked like a stagnant construction zone, and there were only a few parking spots even remotely close to the hotel itself. The rest were at the back of a sketchy area that shared a parking lot with Smith's grocery store and it was filled with cars that looked as if they were living there permanently. Not very professional. Overall we were not very satisfied with this hotel, especially with what their normal rates were. Thank heaven we booked on Priceline and didn't pay their full rate. Either way we won't be staying here again. There are lots of hotels to chose from in this area. read more

Had an issue with my reservation due to an error on the Hyatt app. The staff promptly addressed it, and allowed me to switch my stay to a nearby Hyatt. This was a great hotel. Everything was clean. The staff were pleasant and super helpful. They took dogs which was great for us. Rhe pool was warm, hot tub was a perfect temp. Both clean. Hyatt place is a newer hotel close to downtown provo. It would be an easy walk from the hotel if you wanted to visit some nearby restaurants. Pros: Convenient location Quick check in and out Lots of hot water Mini fridge Ok bedding (which is expected since it is newer) Better than basic cable television Outdoor pool and spa Workout room is limited space, however, it is newer and did look worn out yet Elevator worked well Cons: Walls are not well soundproofed. For a newer hotel I expected a but less footstep/dancing from the ceiling at night and in the am Also, when our neighbors turned their music on and had a full on "f u" "no f u!" Conversation I could hear it all (Noted: concerned about a full on fight I called front desk and could hear their phone ring-I am only guessing it was the front desk) Breakfast was meh Parking is shared with court parking. The lot is not that big Bed was really soft. As soon as My husband laid down I would roll next to him ( he is under 190) Housekeeping. First day no housekeeping was done. Front desk was not answering so made do with a hand towel Three towels seemed to be enough in their opinion for 5 people (save the earth!) Also, shampoos are not replenished ‍ Staying here would not be my top choice again. Mostly for the amount of easily heard noises We paid d about 110 a night for two queens and a sofa bed. Didn't plan to stay here but car trouble forced a stay. The staff was so friendly, I felt like I was back in my home state where people say hello and ask how you are. The room was very comfortable. There was a deck in the room that was large enough for my husband to set up his work computer and all other things needed for his conference calls.
