Went in there to buy paint. First associate could'nt help. Waited 20 min for manager. Finally gave up, and walked out. Very bad service.

After receiving poor customer treatment, I contacted the corporate office. They responded quickly,…read moresincerely apologized for the incident promising a retraining of the individual, and obliged my request for a $100 gift certificate to return me as a customer. I am not only satisfied but impressed with the thoughtful and diligent response of the Home Depot management. I have therefore increased my rating from 1 to 3 stars and have returned as a customer. Initial review (which has now been addressed) is below: I am writing this review due to the negative way I was treated when attempting to make a return. Upon approaching the returns desk with a halogen work light that was used a few times but being returned within 90 days, I was given a severe attitude and a 'business' lecture on why they don't honor customers who decide to buy something use it a few times and then return it. First of all, the return policy states that returns will be honored if within 90 days and says NOTHING regarding usage. The product was returned fully functional and I even encouraged the lady to test the item to ensure proper function OR to even just grant me store credit so that the business could still realize a sale. If I was in any way wrong or if my return violated any policy, she could have stated this to me or contacted the manager if uncertain. I in NO WAY deserved to be treated the way I was tonight and as a result that store has just lost a customer that has been giving them 6 years of business. While I did contact the store manager to explain the incident and while he was nice, apologetic and said the lady will be retrained, her hurtful words and attitude cannot be taken back. As a result, I am writing this review and intend on contacting the corporate office to ensure that I am taken seriously. Until then, I will cease from shopping at home depot. *Addendum 7/19/11 - I was contacted by the store manager who provided a sincere apology. We spoke in depth and I felt he was sincere about his commitment to customer service. I also received an email reply from a resolution team member. Also note Stephanie's response below. HD so far has taken the matter seriously. We continue to discuss and if we find a mutual agreement, I will return as a customer and increase my rating.

I stopped into Monaco Locks because I live up the block and am in need of a new front door lock for…read moremy home. I told the guy behind the counter I'm interested in the Yale Real Living lock with the Wi-Fi remote option. He quickly said we don't have that, and mumbled something else. When I asked him if he knew what lock I was was talking about he said yeah, we just don't carry that one. I asked him if he could get it and: Do you know how much it is installed? How long might it take to get? All questions went unanswered and he said let me take your number and I'll call you back. Two weeks later, I decided to stop back. Each time I went, the doors were locked and the hands on the plastic clock were pointed to an hour from then. Eventually I made it back there and caught him actually at work. I was The same guy told me I must've given my number to someone else, and that he didn't take it. He was wrong. It was HIM. And it was him that never called me back. At this point I feel like I feel like this guy just doesn't want my money. Then he answers the phone in the middle of our conversation and continues to stay on the phone despite the fact that I already waited about 10 minutes for the previous customer to finish and leave. Then he hangs up and asks for my number again and says let me find out what I can do. I left my number chuckling as I read the numbers aloud. That was about a month ago. He should be calling me back any day now, right? Haha DO NOT USE MONACO LOCKS.
