Came based on the reviews. I haven't been to Florence before. Great location, remodeling was extensive. The restaurant was half empty, but the head waiter indicated we would have to wait for 15-20 minutes. Found seats at the bar and Jaimie was great. We both had the fish special which had swordfish. Mine was the grilled local fish; the other a salad with the same fish. Mine came with smokey corn, shallots, tomatoes and lemon chive butter. It was very nice to get the local color of Florence, a place that I had not previously visited. While the fish was slightly rare, needing to be "finished" further, it was easily fixed and deliciously devoured. It is worth a return visit. read more

We were passing through heading to Florida and this place was recommended by a local at the hotel. We were traveling with children and from the moment we walked in the door we didn't feel welcomed. We asked to sit outside on the roof and they said no children in that area. They sat us down, gave us menus and said we don't really have any food items for children. We looked at the menu and they didn't have much for adults either. Very expensive, atmosphere is dark and cold. Staff is not friendly, and impatient. We paid for our drinks and went to a different restaurant. The entire downtown district experience was disappointing and creepy. read more

Super good restaurant! I got a burger with truffle Parmesan fries and it was amazing! My only complaint would be that the menu is pretty small so it's hard to find gluten free or other dietary options. Still would recommend though! read more

I was in town for work, and regretfully did not stumble upon Town Hall until later in the week. Unfortunately, it does not open for lunch, or I would have tried to run over each day! The inside has been restored in a wonderful way: high ceilings, large barn doors, dark woods, and pictures hung that match the ambiance. The food was fantastic. It was on the pricer side, so this would be a great place to head to for a date or a special occasion. Or for a great meal to celebrate a Wednesday. The bar had great cocktails and wines. The service was also very prompt. I had the endive caesar salad and the scallop entree. Both were great. My only regret is that I was only able to eat here once and not snap any pics! read more

The atmosphere was great, beer and shots flowed however upon ordering the shrimp/seafood ceviche, there was some grittiness to it like it wasn't washed. I think I must have ordered the worse thing on the menu because all the plates going by smelled and looked delicious. Sorry but the fish and or shrimp was not cleaned- yuck. read more

Looking for a good upscale meal this is the place to eat and the entree are good size for Sharing. We had the steak for two it was great. They also have a great selection of wine and desserts are wonderful. II just sent my favorite cousin to eat here for their anniversary. read more

The best thing I can say about tonight's meal was the service. Tai was a wonderful server, right there when she should have been with such a pretty smile. The meal, not quite what I've experienced here before. I sure hope it isn't the 'ole bait & switch' routine that happens all to often when a new restaurant comes to town. The dry aged ribeye tasted much like an ordinary bone-in ribeye at best, sure not worth the price paid. We'll have another go due to past experience but TH doesn't jump right up to the forefront of our choices for an evening out like it once did. read more

I took my fiancé here for our first time and the food was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, our waitress was great! The only two things I was not a fan of was how long it took to get our food out. It took a good 45+ minutes. Then the prices are pretty high. Cheapest entree is $15 if I remember correctly. Upscale decor. Amazing cornbread. Interesting salad of arugula, gouda and strawberries. I had the paella. Super delicious. But an interesting thing happened with my husband's order. He ordered "steak frites". In NY that's a French Bistro dish of steak and fries. After a long wait, his order arrived. It was just potatoes. Waitress thought he just wanted potatoes ie frites?? Hmm....Getting too late to order the steak. Oh, well. Be warned. This place has a pricey price tag. Food is good. But watch out for the wine prices. Particularly, the Cabernet Sauvignon. This was our 4th time coming here. Best meal by far. Had the 2 "special" apps of seared foie gras (don't judge) and liver mousse pate. Both were divine. Entree's were the fried quail and the swordfish served with the best creamed corn I have ever had. Our waiter, Nathan, was fabulous. Attentive but not too much. Would not recommend for small children or kids who won't eat anything but nuggets. A little pricey which is why only 4 stars, but otherwise fantastic. read more

This is just what downtown Florence needed. The service was amazing and every bite of food my wife and I had was phenomenal. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. We started with the kale salad, she had the grouper, and I had the hanger steak. Everything was cooked to perfection. They really pay attention to detail. Great service and food. We decided to do a appetizer night to share a few dishes. Oysters were light and fresh. Collards and Brussels were great. Bacon steak was succulent. If you eat pork don't miss this. They have a summer wine/drink that we split a carafe of. It was like a sangria but lighter. If was summer in a glass. We liked it so much we went back to Sunday brunch. We tried Victors during our stay too. Town Hall beat them hands down. read more

Was in town last week on business, and caught this place on a Tuesday night. The food was excellent, service was great, and the dining room was very clean and provided a nice atmosphere for dinner. I had the Kale Caesar salad: chopped kale, parmesan shavings, roasted cauliflower, and topped with a scotch egg. The main course was a hangar steak, cooked perfectly medium rare, garlic parm fries. Save yourself time and money, this place is over priced and we had to wait forever to get our meal. The server was great but when we sent a dish back , we could read the lips of one of the male cooks as he looked at our table and mouthed something that rhymes with witch. The cooks are visible from most tables and so are their sanitary habits, which are disturbing. No gloves , bare hands , cross contamination. Upon leaving we had to walk thru a small alley and guess who's cigarette smoke we had to walk thru? Yep ! The cook that mouthed the favorable comments at our table. We went for dinner for a birthday celebration. Our reservation was made in advance and we were seated right away. I was a little concerned because I did not see anything I might want except the ribeye steak. But it was $48 and it was too much for my pocket. So, I had the pork chop (cooked medium well on the advice of the server) , about $18. It was excellent! I could not have been more satisfied. It was cooked almost like a steak and was NOT dry or tough (which is not always easy with pork). The 'Cow Peas' that came as a side were just 'blackeyed peas' (which I generally despise.) Surprise, surprise - I tried them and they were delicious! Better and better. On the flip side, the lemonade was a waste of money. All in all, I would definitely return for the pork chops. read more

Located in the newly remodeled Downtown Florence. The food is amazing. You can find anything from burgers to steaks to something for the adventurous eater ... like bone marrow appetizer. Had a great time here! We were attending a wedding rehearsal dinner, preceded by a cocktail reception on the open roof area. Great ambiance on the rooftop, nice place to enjoy a cocktail. The dinner was great, servers were on top of their game, food was served at perfect intervals, presentation was great, taste was tops! We were here for tonight from out of town and a friend recommended Town Hall to us. It was excellent. I highly recommend the Bouillabaisse, one of my favorite dishes, it was very good and fresh. We visited Florence for Christmas and this was the perfect place for a nice dinner out with my Grandmother. The pork belly was fabulous and so were the deviled eggs. DO NOT skip desert! The banana rum bread pudding and fried pie were out of this world! Our party of 5 thoroughly enjoyed every single dish we ordered. The service was phenomenal and the ambience was great! Townhall is warm and inviting. We will definitely be back the next time we come to Florence. What a fabulous evening! read more

First time coming here tonight and it was absolutely great! Went out for dinner with the family and we all enjoyed our food and the atmosphere inside was very nice. Our waiter was quick and got everything we needed and the food came out quick. Our valet driver Chase took care of our car and he was very polite and quick. This restaurant is wonderful. I have never been disappointed. I can truly say that the Hanger Steak is the best steak I have ever eaten. It is perfect every time I order it. The servers are always friendly and attentive and the manager always stops by to say hello and check on our experience. I have never been a huge brussel sprouts fan, but their roasted sprouts are delicious. I enjoy dining here regularly. read more

I sent it back and when it reached our table I found they had thrown the slices of steak back on (coated in a reduction). Scorched taste and rubber band texture. Fries were good. read more

Was in Florence for a tennis tournament with my son over the weekend and we were looking for a nice place for dinner. Found Town Hall on Yelp. We had an awesome dinner. The food was really excellent. I agree with the reviewer who wrote about the cornbread and butter. Really terrific. My son had the burger, which he loved and managed to devour. That came with some deadly good truffle fries. I had one of the specials, which was a heritage Carolina pork loin. One of the best pieces of pork I've ever had. Absolutely amazing! The grapefruit negroni wasn't bad to start off the meal either! The decor of the restaurant is really nice. Very modern, open kitchen, huge glass windows right in front of the bar. Our waiter Dion was also very knowledgeable and friendly. My son and I will absolutely come back here when we are next in Florence. read more

This is hands down the best eatery in florence owned by a fabulous group that has multiple other restaurants in downtown Charleston, Columbia and Atlanta! Town Hall, specifically, has wonderful staff who know their area of expertise. I have tried most of everything on the menu and the chef has consistently delivered a fantastic meal. If you get a chance to visit this amazing establishment ask for Terrell he is the man behind and in front of the scenes making things happen, providing support to staff and exceeding our expectations. I will not be back at this restaurant again. We had a reservation for 7 PM and were not seated until 7:30. Yet the table they seated us at had been open the entire time we were waiting. Once they took our drink and dinner order it took them almost 1.5 hours to get our meal to us. They told us they don't start cooking your entrée until you are completely through eating your salad. There were vacant tables in the restaurant so I'm not sure why it took them so long. Last time at this restaurant! read more
