So, I had been kinda needing tires lately but also wanted some nice after market wheels too. I did a ton of looking around online and knew what I had in mind as a look for my car. I set out early this past Saturday to shop in person and buy the whole package. Went all over Massachusetts and Rhode Island and kept striking out as far as terrible customer service everywhere I went. This Town Fair location was my final stop before I was deciding to just order online myself but luckily they met my expectations. I met Rob, who was professional, laid back and trustworthy. I explained what I wanted he showed me my options and within 20 minutes I had my dream wheel and tire package ordered. It took about 3 days for them to come in,they arrived the exact day he had told me with no bs. I went in, picked them up and had my bf mount them in our garage. (Mounting came free with my order but I'm possessive and need to be present while people deal with my car LOL) They looked absolutely flawless both tires and rims. They did an amazing job putting the rims on my tires and balanced them perfect. I had no shake or wobble..just a smooth ride. I scheduled an 11:00 a.m. appointment at Town Fair Tires in Johnston, R.I. due to two tires that have been slowly losing air, despite being only 6 1/2 months old. Upon arrival, I was informed that it would take 90 minutes to 2 hours just to inspect them--information that was not disclosed when the appointment was made. The employee's demeanor was unprofessional and dismissive. I have now been waiting for over two hours with no progress or communication. I did not ask because it would have made no difference to know what it was. I went to Town Fair Tire in Johnston RI. I had a tire fixed, using the Road Hazard Warrentey I got when purchasing 4 tires awhile back. Joe and the crew were unbelievable!!! He and his crew went above and beyond. I had a 330pm appt and I was out at 430pm with a new tire. Joe was very thorough in explaining all that had to be done! I've been going to Town Fair Tire since the early 80's when I lived in Stratford CT. It's the BEST! This week I was driving my Aunt Joyce from Providence to Bradley Airport to catch a flight. It was five o'clock and I had just gotten on Route 6 when out of the blue I saw that the tire pressure sign was lit on the dashboard of my car. This development was one of a series of events that made me regret getting up that morning. I pulled over to examine the tires. One of them was pretty low and even with the loud road noise from Route 6, I could hear air escaping the tire. Psssssssssssss. What a distressing sound. I wanted to cry. I knew Town Fair Tire was right down the road, but I was worried that they would be closed at 5pm. Thankfully they are open until 7pm on weekdays! Dory and her crew were great. They understood my situation and quickly took my car into the garage. In twenty minutes they pulled a large jagged shard of metal from the tread, patched my tire, and put Aunt Joyce and me back on the road. I am grateful for the attentive service and professionalism of Town Fair Tire. I also appreciate how kind they were to me and my elderly aunt during the entire process. My boyfriend set up an appointment about four days ago to have his tire repaired at the Hartford Ave., Johnston location.He very easily Made the appointment on his iPhone. The man at the front desk immediately took his information. The service man immediately came out of the back room and took his key. His tire was patched in 15 minutes. Don't patronize this place until they can get their act together. I understand that they are understaffed, and that's fine... but they do not need to make false promises and rush (if you think 25 hours of having the vehicle warrants a rush job), nor is it ever okay to upsell without asking permission, AND skip critical things like putting wheel covers back on. They also damaged our tire monitoring system sensor and didn't tell us. Great, we needed that because we weren't aggravated and inconvenienced enough. This was a truly awful experience from start to finish - it was not ready the day it was promised (after we went literally way out of our way to drop it off and pick it up to give plenty of time to work on it - a whole 24 hours!!), we got excuses and false promises, and after spending nearly $1k, we had to replace parts ourselves, scour the invoice (which we conveniently were not given until we asked) to find the multiple upcharges we would never have agreed to, and then had to buy a new $$$ tire monitoring sensor. They definitely don't value their customers' safety, business, time, or satisfaction!!! If they couldn't do the work, they should have told us - maybe they need a week. On a Saturday afternoon I hit a curb and blew out the side wall of my right front tire. I was 2:00 PM. I bought the tires at the Johnston store so that's where I went. They were very busy. I had to wait until after hours but the manager MIKE stayed and put a new tire on. Mike is what management should always be. He stayed late and he and another mechanic got me squared away. The guy that answered the phone at the front desk could not have been more RUDE , UNHELPFUL , or less interested in booking revenue for the company he works for. I needed to have my car towed there to have a flat tire fixed. I asked to be able to text or email a pic of the tire to see if he has it or how long it would take to order and he started whining that he wont give out his personal cell. I replied I am not asking for your personal cell and that I am just trying to send a video of the tire. I then inquired if there was a business email I can send a video of the tire to. He replied that he is NOT going to give out the business email. Completely rude and ILLOGICAL , just turning off customers and TURNING AWAY revenue for the business he works at. With all of the potholes in RI this winter I knew it was only a matter of time before I blew out one of my tires. Of course I get a flat tire and this place happened to be the only shop I could possibly drive to safely. I had a really bad experience with them in the past and didn't want to go here, but I really had no other options. $69 for a new tire, and it came to $96 after all of the service fees. Not too bad price-wise. I was told it would be about an hour and fifteen minutes for the service (of course I had a horrible flashback of being told this before and waiting three hours), and was ready to brace myself... perhaps grab some Chinese food for lunch next door. The waiting area is pretty dingy, but it's better than the last time I was there, and they have a nice TV and free coffee. Magically I was out of there in less than 15 minutes. I swear they must have had a note on my file that said "do not piss off this lady," because I was done before the other people in waiting there. Okay, so I've learned that they can change a tire and it won't kill me. I still won't trust them with a balance and alignment after what happened before, but I will likely utilize them again in the future. I would give 2.5 stars if I could. I met with Brian to discuss my options for tires on my vehicle. He mentioned some great choices. A couple days later I went back to set up an installation. They were extremely accommodating and worked with me for the day and time that I wanted. The installation took 2 hours and I was notified via text to the status of the process. When I picked up my vehicle I was thrilled with how great the tires looked and the informative details the staff told me about the alignment and outcome. I can't say enough about the high level of professionalism and courteous nature of all the staff I dealt with. They know their stuff and treated me very well. I recommend them highly. read more

I called in advance to make an appointment the day before. I was told that I was only person for that time slot and that my wait time would be 1 1/2-2 hours for 4 new tires. I was also told that the tires I wanted were in stock, in fact, that they had plenty of them. Upon my arrival the next day, I was informed that they did not have the tires I wanted and then tried to up-sell me. Fast forward 3 hours and 15 minutes... yes over 3 hours... I finally went up to the front desk and asked if my car was ready. They said, yes it's ready. I went to pay with cash and they didn't even have $30 worth of change in the drawer to give me. I cannot say enough good things about this Town Fair Tire. As someone who knows next to nothing about cars, I avoid going to any type of shop. At other shops I've consistently been taken advantage of and paid for work that hasn't been done, but Brian (I believe he is the manager?) at this location went above and beyond to make sure that I understood everything that was done to my wheels/tires, and even took the time to look at an issue I was having that was unrelated. He discovered an issue with my caliper that could have very well led to my car being totaled if I didn't get it fixed, and was helpful in advising me where to go to get it looked at. This issue was the result of a dealership not doing the work I paid for. Again, I cannot say enough good things and I will continue to make the drive all the way from Newport to Johnston because of how much they genuinely cared. read more

I think Town Fair is the best deal on tires. I think they actually have a policy that pretty much guarantees it. There are a few Town Fairs in the state. The one in Warwick is closer but that store is like the busiest in the Country or the northeast. The one in Johnston is the same and the wait is considerably less. I have my tires rotated, I get alignments, and I buy tires as needed from here. I drive a Saab and not everyone can do alignments on this car. Town fair can. If you want a deal on tires ask about their take offs. They have a guarantee with satisfaction. If you buy tires you get like 5 days to return them. Occasionally people return their tires. Town Fair then sells them at DEEP discount. I got 4 Toyo Proxes S for 65 bucks a piece. They are normally like 175. Its a hit or miss deal. I love it. I don't have any problems. read more

I have had a number of tires repaired at this Town Fair Tire location and each trip has been a delight (on my wallet and for my car). From screws in the treads to a broken bead the quality of the work on my car has been excellent. The only detractor is wait times can be exceeding long with little (or no) communication from the staff on how much longer the wait will be. read more

I'll never go to town fair tire ever again and neither should anyone else! I had a nail in my tire and needed one tire replaced. My appointment was at 2:30pm. At 4:00pm I asked what the hold up was and they said oh your car is next. . 20 minutes later they come out and tell me I have a nail in my tire. Thanks. Genius. We called my reputable extended tire warranty company (that works with herb chambers) and Town fair wouldn't accept payment from them because it could take up to 2 hours. I had to pay out of pocket. Whatever, no problem. Another 20 minutes go by and they come out and tell me they broke my wheel locks and I'd have to go buy another set myself. I said excuse me, you broke my locks and you're telling me to go buy new ones?! He said well yeah they make these things cheap. I had had enough at this point. I stepped outside and made a phone call and the kid came out and said ok we're gonna order them for you you've been through enough with us today. . Today I go and pick up my wheel locks and they ordered the wrong ones! They are just caps and serve no purpose to keeping the tire on. They also used a power tool at the time of original service and stripped the lock so bad I had to take it to Nissan and have it cut off. Also I left with 41 PSI in the new tire that should have been 33PSI. Luckily I was in contact with the regional wholesale manager who agreed to pay for the costs at Nissan. Had 2 new tires put on my car. Came to pick it up after hours and they did not leave the key in the vehicle. Checked out the tires they put on and they were the wrong ones. I was told to come in first thing in the morning and they will put a rush on it while I wait. I checked in and asked for the " person" they told me to ask for and he knew nothing about it. Probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Sergio at the front end was great, but "scottie' the manager was a completely arrogant, rude and unprofessional person. Clearly, he is uneducated and lacks interpersonal skills...I have been there a few other times with different cars for tires, but this was and will be the last time I go there for tires. I went to the store with my son's car that I had front tires put on about a year ago. Now they were completely bald after just a year. Brian was just wonderful. Was able to have my car towed in right before closing when I had broken down by the side of the road from a flat tire. Not only did he make sure my car was seen within the hour but I was not charged. Flat repairs are free here! I had a bolt in my tire which caused the flat. They were able to patch it from the inside. Came in off the road with a flat. Nail in the tire. A long way from home. It was a busy late Friday afternoon. Sure we had to wait almost two hours but they got the tire plugged and we were back on the road. You can't expect to be taken right away. There is a small waiting area with a tv and vending machine. When I arrived they told me if I didn't put the same brand tires that were already on my SUV that I would mess it up and blow my transmission. Called other places and they said that's ridiculous. Their web site says they have a hazard guarantee, no exclusions. I had them install new tires and within 2 months one of the tires picked up a nail near the side wall and so the tire needs to be replaced. They would not honor their guarantee, saying it is not covered because only certain tires are covered. If you look at their website, there is a box on the right side that says this situation is covered without exception. They are either deceitful and dishonest about their warranty which states: "For as long as you own your tires, if a tire loses air or goes flat we will repair it FREE! If it cannot be repaired we will replace it! There are no exclusions! (Run flats, sidewall punctures, glass cuts, curb damage, stones and pot holes). We will warranty the tire anywhere in the U.S.A.! read more

What a joke !! I had a problem with a tire to dropped by my regular garage . Mechanic said it's split I can't plug it maybe Town Tire can put an internal patch . Hubby says let's just 2 tires it was almost time anyway. It's 3:00 in the afternoon pull into Town Tire , hubby tells man what's up he comes out says "'funny I can't find a split ( car is in the lot not on the lift ) we still want 2 tires , he tells us what he has in stock we choose something in the middle . Finally he says car will be ready about 5:30 okay we jump in hubbys car and head home 5:45 still no call we call that day car is ready .
