The seamstress is often unfriendly and unprofessional, and unfortunately the quality of the alterations has not justified the poor customer service. The work performed did not meet our expectations, and interactions have frequently felt dismissive. The cleaning service has also declined in quality. One of our garments was recently returned with a noticeable spot that was not there before cleaning, rendering the item unwearable. After multiple disappointing experiences, we have decided to take our business elsewhere. Worst cleaners I've been to. Ruined my comforter and blamed it on me! They also kept my comforter for over a week because of a "stain" they found. Horrible service, not friendly and then proceeded to hide the burn the caused by folding the comforter a certain way so I couldn't see it. Awful. read more

THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU HERE. Went to this cleaners for sometime but will not do business with them again. Took in a set of blankets to be cleaned and picked them back up after a week. The cost was $90. One of the blankets was a 100% organic cotton pillow top. When I returned home with my blankets I was surprised to find that my 100% organic cotton pillow top was missing and in its place was a polyester pillow top with yellow stains. When I returned to the cleaners to let them know of the mistake, they tried to convince me that this polyester pillow top was mine. On top of that, the owner's son got loud and was rude, telling me that I only come in twice a year and chastising me for having a tear in one of my blankets. I was blindsided; what does any of this have to do with the blanket they lost? This business is disorganized and unprofessional. Moreover, they have yet to remedy the loss of my blanket by refunding me the cleaning cost and the cost of my blanket. I paid $90 for them to lose my blanket and mistreat me in the process. I am so glad that I wandered into this cleaners when I first moved to the Lorton area. They have always taken great care of my items and charged what I believe to be a fair price for all of their services. There was a time when I lost a bunch of weight and they expertly handled the re-crafting of all of my suits and slacks, even the cutting and trimming of the jackets. Ever since then, Town Cleaners has been the only place for my alteration needs. The thing that really has me sold is the customer service and the family atmosphere. Never again. Wanted patches sewn onto sweatshirt sleeves. 4 on one sleeve, 1 on the other. First time the 4 on the left sleeve were on the back/under my arm, and took 8 days. Second time they screwed up the order of the patches on the left side, and it took another week to get it back. At $6 a patch, with specific instructions, this is unacceptable. read more

I've been moving around with my husband since 1977. In all those years Town Cleaners has been my best experience with a cleaners that you could count on every time to do the very best job. They have even replaced a zipper on my winter coat that looked like it was the original. So my first time at this cleaners I needed my shoe to be repaired. I dropped off my 1 shoe and they told me it would be ready within a week. They told me they would notify me when ready for pick up. I waited about a week 1/2 and didn't hear anything from them. I went back to see if my shoe was ready. I was informed that they needed my other shoe. With out being said I brought in my other shoe. When I received my shoe the sole was replaced on both (quality of material was cheap). Anyhow I was happy my shoe had been repaired. My 2nd visit I brought in 3 work button up women shirts. When I go and pick up my shirts the sleeves are wrinkly. I stated before I paid for them the shirts are wrinkly from the sleeves and the gentlemen who was at the registered said "that's the style of the shirt" I informed him it wasn't and what was the point of having something dry cleaned if it's going to look the same way as if I would do it myself. I was given a $3 off of my 3 shirts. Meaning he gave me 1 off each wrinkled shirt. I wish he would of told me they would fix it instead. I love that they often remember my name or phone number (needed for their computer system) and have my dry cleaning waiting when I get to the counter. The lady of the store did an absolutely immaculate job hemming my husband's Navy winter coat that had to be taken up quite a lot in the sleeves and the length as he bought it from someone else.
