This was a nice little find in Shamrock while we were waiting for storms to arrive. Very unassuming joint with a busy drive up. Burgers are basic, hard to mess up and filling. We both had exactly the same meal: the cowgirl sirloin, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll. I found the steak to be adequately cooked and Flavorful, but not the best steak I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were bland, appeared to be instant, and very dry, so much so that no amount of butter moisten them up. The green beans were rubbery and hardly cooked well enough to be hot when served. The Service by McKenzie was outstanding. She checked on us several times and was pleasant, friendly, and very cheerful. The ambience was about what I expected. I was hoping for a better review, especially since this is the second time I've eaten at this establishment, And while the prices were certainly much lower than the Metropole, the food was not nearly as good.

The pizza was prepared very quickly, and while I was waiting had a wonderful visit with the owner and two other residents from Canadian that I don't run into that often. However once you get inside it's anyone's guess as to what is available for both food and drink. Today on a Saturday morning a couple walked in and walked back out. I went in after them and asked the lady at the counter what happened. They wanted coffee and she didn't make any because she said she had only had one customer. No point in making a full pot. Interesting logic. The only food was what was in the glass case. Donuts, kolache (only one kind a giant pig in a blanket), and croissant sandwich with eggs, cheese and options for meat - as long as it's in the case. Not a flaky croissant because it's in plastic wrap. Good thing is that she heated up the sandwich and kolache. Not sure this place will be around long so if you like donuts it might be a good option for you. Not sure about the coffee. You take your chance on that.
