Smog check was $39.75 and if it passes they add $8.25 so that would be $48 total. That's the cheapest I could find in the small amount of time I had. Place looked sketchy and next to a gas station that I couldn't even tell if it was open or not lol. It's only one man working there. He takes the calls, handles the payments and what's under the hood. Kudos to him! There was only one person in front of me but he was just finishing up with them. Then it was my turn, I showed him the coupon and honestly he didn't care for it lol. Dude was in motion, barely any small talk. Fine for me cus I wanted to be in and out! He didn't take long at all. Just told me $48 and since I paid with card they charge an extra dollar or in my case, 99 cents lol. Not bad! He literally only took 10 mins or less. There's a beat up couch I sat on but he does have a little heater in the small wait room for us to keep warm. Got my certificate and receipt and went on with my day. I definitely recommend coming here if u need a quick smog check!!

However, A1 Star Smig came to the top with ChatGPT based on my lines, dislikes, and expectations of services to be rendered. It was 30 minutes away. Well outside of my distance scope. However, who am I to argue with ChatGPT. I arrived at the location and was immediately taken into the service section. There was another vehicle ahead of me. The technician handed me the paperwork and started the mechanical process. He stated that truck is going to take over an hour. Your vehicle will take considerably shorter to complete. How refreshing is it to do business with an entity that can balance time management while keeping their customers at a low stress level. I had my dog with me and fully expected to take her for a walk while we waited. Dog and I - very surprised by the time I finished the paperwork the mechanical process was done, uploaded to the State of California, and I had all documentation and receipt in hand - on my way to tge next stage. The technician was fast, efficient, helpful and kind. I am overdue getting this done and he just looked at me - without condemnations referred me to the closest AAA Office to avoid long DMV lines. How cool was that!? My daughter and son in law normally handled all of this for me. They are going through a divorce. So I felt it was time for me to take care of myself and my business. A1Star Smog made this transition to independence so much easier for this 76-year-old woman. Leaving us more time to get back to Mdera and have some much-needed dog park time. Therefore, if the dog could speak she would definitely tell you A1 Star Smog is dog-approved as well as human-approved .

My whole visit took maybe an hour. What really made this place stand out was the waiting room. The room was air-conditioned with a cute little table in the middle and plenty of seating despite the small space. It's perfect if you're planning to stay and wait. It was early in the day, so I took a walk around since it's in the heart of Old Town, near all sorts of wonderful little businesses. As such, they gave me a call upon service completion.

There was a TV and a fee chairs and a rug. It served its purpose and was comfortable. I passed testing and he gave me my paperwork and I paid. No issues. Very pleasant experience. **side note I went to DMV afterwards thinking id have to stand in line with my smog papers. A kind lady told me to try the kiosk and if it didn't work, she'd let me have my place back. It went through easy peasy!! He had uploaded it online for me even though I didn't have my paperwork!! I had originally gone to Fresno smog over on Shields Avenue and received paltrier customer service. Plus I was overcharged. I did the right thing and came here the next day and they were able to help me out right away. Here's a difference; when you go to a smog shop, you can ask them to run a quick check using a very simple computer to see if the emissions are ready for testing. It doesn't cost them anything. That's what these guys did after I explained, that the truck had been sitting for a while, and they very quickly told me it wasn't ready for emissions to drive it a few more miles and then come back and it would give me a coupon. I plan on returning here every time I need some SMOG service because the guys are friendly, they help you save on costs!!! Great job guys!

Joe and his crew absolutely nailed it!…read more I brought in my Ram 2500 Cummins diesel for an oil change because I know how difficult these trucks can be to service properly. The Cummins diesel oil filter can be tricky, you can only access the filter through the passenger-side fender well. On these trucks, you really have to know what you're doing, right front tire has to be removed to properly access the fender-well opening and extract the oil filter. They handled the entire diesel oil change perfectly. Not a single drop of oil was left on my vehicle, and they also completed the safety checks, including my brakes and other important service items. I take all my vehicles here for automotive repair and maintenance. They are much more than just an oil change shop. They handle brakes, wiper blades, serpentine belts, light bulbs, transmission fluid service, radiator coolant service, spark plugs, tire rotations, rear gear differential fluid, general auto repair, preventive maintenance, and full-service vehicle care. In an ever-changing world where true full-service automotive shops are getting harder to find, Joe and his crew are a shining star of one-stop efficiency. In my opinion, they are the #1 best automotive repair and service shop in Fresno and Clovis.
