Today we have decided not to work with Kellys Automotive in Manteo any longer. I had 3 vehicles…read morewith them and they have been doing the maintenance on my company vehicles. 3 of my vehicles have been in their yard for weeks with no parts ordered and nothing started to repair. These vehicles are company vehicles and very important that they be repaired in a responible amount of time. This morning i had a 4th vehicle go down and dropped it off at Kelly's. I waited around for someone to show up as they open at 8am. Kelly showed up and i began to tell him what was wrong with the 4th vehicle. I then started to ask when the other vehicles were going to be completed as i needed them to do work. He stated it will be several weeks before he could even look at them. Now remember they have already been sitting onsite for several weeks at this time. So i mentioned if he still wanted to do my work. At this time Kelly blow up and started cussing at me and screaming to get my sh@# out of his car lot. He charged me $1,000.00 to tear down a truck that i drove into his shop that i now have to pay to have towed off his lot. 1 of my vans gas tanks was crushed from when he put it on the lift wrong and doesnt want to take responiblity for it. He said he replaced the motor mounts on one of my other vans which is a lie as they have not been replaced, but i paid him for this. I paid him to fix the fan on one of my vans and it still does not work. I will be taken Kelly to court once i get all this information together and find out everything he was supposed to fix and didnt.

I had Mr Ok Mechanic on the phone saying he is not in a mood to work because it was to hot outside, and trying to expedite me as fast as possible, which he managed gratefully. I am not sure he is trying to run a business or an island parade... I would stay away and look for Dale's Auto Service instead. Business owner should, cut straight to the chase and remove the 24/7 BS from the web.

I can't say enough good things about Lantz's Towing. I found myself stuck deep in the mud late at…read morenight, and after trying to get help through my insurance company, the first towing service couldn't even come close to getting me out. They didn't come with the right equipment for the job and eventually gave up, so I was still stranded, frustrated, and pretty much at a loss. I call my insurance company back and they sent Lantz's towing to the rescue, I gave them the same information I gave the last towing company. They showed up quickly, even though it was pretty late and immediately went to work with the proper equipment, including a winch on their tow truck. The driver was professional, efficient, and had a calm confidence that made me feel like I was in good hands. I jokingly told him that he had probrably seen everything, but this situation had to rank in the top 100 for difficulty. His response? Not even close. He said it was actually top 5 when it came to difficulty and weird positions! It was clear this company knows their stuff. He didn't hesitate, and within 15 or 20 minutes, I was out of my stuck position in the mud and was able to park my car. I'm so thankful for Lantz's Towing - they turned what could've been a total disaster into a smooth, hassle -free experience. If you ever find yourself in a tough spot, these guys you want. We hit some serious debris on Rte 168 - (killed the transmission of a Tahoe - hello NC DOT!) - in…read morean SUV packed to the gills with six kids and supplies for beach week on the OBX. Tim went above and beyond - he loaded up his tow truck with an undriveable SUV, a mom and kids and took us to the door of our final destination. The ride onto the island couldn't have been more memorable - with stories of a life, cooking and banana bread to share. But there's more, one kid left earrings in the SUV and while I'm not sure Corolla is 'on the way' anywhere James was in the neighborhood and dropped them off a few days later.
