I really like that they have day-old boxes and the Boston creme croissants were quite tasty. Generally I like them better after a day since the filling can absorb into the croissant more. They made for a good sweet and savory combo. The espresso on the other hand was very dark with some grounds in it. Wasn't what we were looking for. Overall, it's a cool library feeling atmosphere and the food was good. Not as sure about the coffee.

The same bakery you know and love from H Mart now has a stand alone location in the heart of downtown Frederick. I took a spin around, snapped some photos and then grab a tray to load up with goodies. I love that its self-serve. You can always get the one you want without the awkward and mostly ineffective pointing and direction giving from behind the glass lol. I picked up a nice mix or sweet and savories. I think my favorite was the spicy jalapeño ham & bacon roll. It was soft, spicy, salty, and just the right amount of sweet from the dough. You can order finer pastries, coffee, and boba tea from the counter and eat in or take it to go. I'll be coming here every time I'm in town for sure!

It turns out it was a Korean bakery & cafe which was unexpected for the area. We got the salt bread & egg tart which were both great! They also included an extra small pastry as a bonus which was nice. As for the teas, they were on the sweeter side so I wasn't the biggest fan. I wish we could adjust the sweetness and the boba was ok, it hardened up pretty quickly. I'd return for thr pastries but not the boba.

My husband had to go with a sugar cone, which was still tasty, just not his first choice. We originally came in hoping for chocolate, peanut butter, or salted caramel, but learned they rotate flavors daily--so what's on the menu board isn't always available. Just something to know ahead of time if you're craving something specific. Overall, great little spot with delicious gelato and warm, welcoming service. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?"
