They had just opened at noon, so we were excited to be some of the first customers and check out the flavors of the day! The young lady working was super friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed happy to be there--which made our experience even better. She kindly offered us samples of several flavors, which helped us narrow down our choices. I ended up going with a scoop of Piña Colada and something new to me called Candy Dream--a purple gelato that surprisingly tasted like strawberries. Super refreshing and different in a good way! I got mine in a waffle cone, but was a little bummed to find out it was the last one already--only an hour after opening. My husband had to go with a sugar cone, which was still tasty, just not his first choice. We originally came in hoping for chocolate, peanut butter, or salted caramel, but learned they rotate flavors daily--so what's on the menu board isn't always available. Just something to know ahead of time if you're craving something specific. Overall, great little spot with delicious gelato and warm, welcoming service. But the staff were nice in explaining what was in each flavor, double checking for allergies, and providing us samples. Their smallest size was $3.50 when I went this month which is decent. I like that they are flexible with the amount of flavors you can mix as long as it fits in the cup. Located in the midst of a farm you can cross the road to pet some cows making it a fun excursion with kids. Of course that also means that if you were to eat the ice cream outside, you will be greeted with the smell of manure and there really isn't any space inside to eat.

I ordered the chicken and biscuits with sausage gravy, and the portion was huge and packed with flavor. The Cobb salads at our table looked amazing, and our friends once again couldn't pass up the sweet potato fries, which are always a favorite. The only small disappointment was that they were out of the Maryland special crab soup, which I had been hoping to try. There is plenty of covered outdoor seating in the front and sides of the exterior. There is even a children play area connected to the parking lot on the side of the building with a playground. Inside was quite small compared to the outside, the line inside was moving pretty quickly. They offer a selection of shakes, cones, toppings, and even no sugar added flavors. Others got Coffee ice cream in cup, then Coconut and Mango Sorbet in cone, and Pup Cup for our dog. Apparently Sorbet was too sweet and it's better in cup than cone. Don't shoot the messenger, goes without saying. Everything was good and I liked my BG and Mint CC flavors. Though it was a guilty pleasure but it is what it is. I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter milkshake at Swirls Ice Cream Shop in Frederick, Maryland, and I am not being dramatic when I say it gave me goosebumps and made my toes curl. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?" Mission accomplished. Swirls is the kind of place that reminds you simple things can still absolutely delight you. Great people, creative flavors, fun events, and a Biscoff milkshake powerful enough to alter brain chemistry. 11/10. My life can now officially be divided into two eras: Before Biscoff and After Biscoff.
