4/5 My husband and I…read moredecided to stop by this cute gelato shop in Middletown around 1:30 PM on a Sunday. They had just opened at noon, so we were excited to be some of the first customers and check out the flavors of the day! The young lady working was super friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed happy to be there--which made our experience even better. She kindly offered us samples of several flavors, which helped us narrow down our choices. I ended up going with a scoop of Piña Colada and something new to me called Candy Dream--a purple gelato that surprisingly tasted like strawberries. Super refreshing and different in a good way! I got mine in a waffle cone, but was a little bummed to find out it was the last one already--only an hour after opening. My husband had to go with a sugar cone, which was still tasty, just not his first choice. We originally came in hoping for chocolate, peanut butter, or salted caramel, but learned they rotate flavors daily--so what's on the menu board isn't always available. Just something to know ahead of time if you're craving something specific. Overall, great little spot with delicious gelato and warm, welcoming service. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors (and hopefully snag a waffle cone next time)!

My husband got a pint of hazelnut and Creme Brûlée and the kids got a cup of Unicorn flavor since it's color blue. It was really good! Ambience was nice and service was good. I DO NOT recommend using South Mountain Creamery as a delivery service for family food needs. This is my second review. I deleted the first after being assured by SMC staff that the problems would be resolved. Well, fool me once... The delivery driver, has developed what feels like, a personal issue with my complaints. Because the food items are now either being overstuffed in the cooler or delivery box. Food is becoming thawed due to the lack of attention to detail by the delivery driver. I'm no longer using this company and I would suggest searching for better service providers.

The restaurant is in a cute location with plenty of parking in a beautiful old town, making it a nice spot to spend an afternoon. The menu had so many tempting options that it was genuinely hard to decide what to order. My husband had the burger and fries and said it was probably the best burger he's ever had. I ordered the chicken and biscuits with sausage gravy, and the portion was huge and packed with flavor. The Cobb salads at our table looked amazing, and our friends once again couldn't pass up the sweet potato fries, which are always a favorite. The only small disappointment was that they were out of the Maryland special crab soup, which I had been hoping to try. We skipped alcoholic drinks, but the bar menu looked extensive, and we did finish with a cappuccino that was very good. Overall, this was an excellent meal with great service, generous portions, and delicious food. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

How did I make it to nearly 50 years old before discovering Biscoff Cookie Butter? Honestly, I feel…read morelike I wasted decades of my life living in complete ignorance. I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter milkshake at Swirls Ice Cream Shop in Frederick, Maryland, and I am not being dramatic when I say it gave me goosebumps and made my toes curl. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?" Mission accomplished. Swirls is the kind of place that reminds you simple things can still absolutely delight you. Great people, creative flavors, fun events, and a Biscoff milkshake powerful enough to alter brain chemistry. 11/10. My life can now officially be divided into two eras: Before Biscoff and After Biscoff.
