Overall, good experience. There were very friendly and helpful. They responded to the emails promptly. They are very helpful with addressing concerns during and after installation. However, I do wish that they put more thought and paid more attention to details in the beginning. Some of these issues can be avoided. For example, I wish that they would've compacted the DG more carefully before laying down the turf, because there were high and low spots that had to be retamped later. Additionally, they could've prepared the site first before putting down the stones and pavers, so that the pavers are completely flat and in line. I had my lawn done by Mayo in April 2019, it is AMAZING. We hung out in the backyard (and continue to do so) more in the first month of it being done than in the entire 7 years we have been in the house. It took an area under trees that was eroding and just had dirt and weeds into such a beautiful area. And Mayo is great! I am pretty direct and like things pretty perfect, and he made sure that I was happy. He also added in a path I was not going to do, and that addition is probably my favorite part of the job, so he is great on design. I waited to write this review because I wanted to see how everything held up. We have one area that needs a bit of fill, it was something you could not see initially, but due to settling it has come out. Mayo came out to take a look and is going to take care of it. Mayo is awesome as a small business owner, and he is just a nice guy that we have enjoyed working with. Highly recommend!!! And please be patient, he might need a bit of time to get to you, but know that when he does it will be done right. His rates are lower, I am guessing, because he does not have an office full of people manning the phones, but that means he needs to get to all the admin stuff as well as making sure your job is exactly what you want. read more

They completed the work on time as promised and the quality of the installation was great. No other company could beat their price & we had such a small section of backyard condo area to do, we decided to see it through. Communication with Mayo was immediate though, getting a hard day/time when they would be able to come out was a PROCESS. It took ME calling HIM several times, keeping up on him, asking/trying, to set a hard date for 3 WEEKS until they were able to simply give us a day they could even foresee coming out. We live in Central South Austin, so not an inconvenient area. No communication until 7:00 PM on a Sunday, did his truck show up & two men got to work. Their light didn't work, so we extended a lamp outside so they could see. They finished the following evening, this time, before it got too dark. Overall, the price is good, I'm sure if we had a larger project for them, they might care more to get it done in a more professional manner, seemed to be careless with our project. The work is good, we have had our turf a couple weeks now & it's working well, no complaints on the work that was done. read more

Mayo and his team are really the best. I called 4 companies and just trying to get someone out or get a good quote was very difficult. And no follow up from any of them. Not Mayo. He was priced right and made much better recommendations, even giving suggestions on other areas unrelated for landscaping. They were actually 2 days early from his quoted install date. Finished the job quickly. He also loaned me an extra piece of grass to temporarily cover another spot for a party we were having as we were struggling to get our backyard ready from a new pool install. Most importantly, months later after I had an issue with some installed planter boxes, creating a roll in the grass, Mayo promptly sent his crew out to take care of it. You really should call this guy. I highly recommend Tough Lawn. You'll be hard pressed to do better than Mayo. read more
