I originally had this appointment the first week of December but I had gotten my hair done by her sometime late summer (for the 1st time) and had just taken them out early fall, my scalp was still a little tender from that, so I decided to reschedule. And so I had to wait another month to get my hair braided. Which I didn't have a problem with as that's her policy, just context. Fast forward to today, my appointment is at 7am, she confirmed the night before. I have very thick, long 4c hair that I spent all night blow drying. Y'all know how it is. She braids in a tiny *ss room with no mirrors and zero conversation which was odd for a 7hour long appt. With the recent spikes in COVID, I wanted to check in and ask about her disinfecting in between clients and stuff. A very valid question that anyone would and SHOULD have. She should be proud of her taking care of her space as keeping clients safe. She then canceled my appointment. And canceled my call, refusing to communicate with me as to why she canceled when I hadn't requested that. And zero communication from then on out. The appointment I had waited 2 months for. I have a big feeling that she outed herself and she wasn't even disinfecting. Bc if she was, why would she cancel and why wouldn't she have a conversation about it? I never leave reviews, I usually don't speak up unless I have something nice to say bc I'm a huge fan of supported small, especially Black businesses, but this lady is shady asf and did me dirty. And y'all should know that she is possibly: Unsafe. And definitely: Unreliable and shady. {I also felt like when she braided my hair the first time, she used too much hair per part for the size I chose, which was the smallest option. It didn't come out as full as it usually does when I get braided. I totally understand the fact that you're not supposed to use more fake hair than real hair when it comes to the ratio of the braid, but being that I have thick hair, it would've looked cuter, more accurate to sizing, and lasted longer if less of MY hair was used. After a couple of minutes I walked out to my call and the chick who was supposed to do my hair had been sitting in the car next to me the whole effing time! I was quoted $250, and I paid a $30 deposit based on that quote. A $100 price increase after I've already booked and paid a deposit is completely unacceptable. What made the experience even worse was them asking if I was leaving after they tried to upcharge me. Yes, I was leaving--because that's not the price I agreed to when I booked. Now I'm left with an unbraided head, looking a mess, after waking up early, driving to my appointment, and expecting to get the service I was originally quoted for. I will not be returning. I highly recommend that anyone booking with this salon get all pricing in writing, save your messages, and keep receipts. This experience was unprofessional, and pricing should be transparent from the start, not changed once the customer arrives.

But she actually does it ALL! She was even able to accommodate me on a day that most hairstylists tend to take off and I was soooo thankful.
