Veggie Tostadas - with chickpeas

The best authentic Mexican food! And the extensive vegan/vegetarian menu options are truly unmatched. Everything is delicious!

Esquite- marinated corn in a cup

We visited Totoro's for an early dinner on a Wednesday night while in Naperville. When we arrived we there was only one other family seated inside so we were able to order right away. The friendly cashier greeted us right away and offered menus. I ordered a chicken Gordita, rice & beans and small chips and guacamole. My friend ordered a Gordita, 2 tacos, and esquites. We were offered any salsa we wanted for our entrees and asked for an assortment. The chips and guacamole came out first. The chips were a large portion. The guacamole was creamy but was missing something. The food came out next next! Everything was super fresh. The Gordita was larger than expected and piping hot. Well stuffed with chicken, cheese, beans and topped with lettuce and tomatoes. It was fresh and hot but the chicken was lacking in flavor. The side of rice and beans was a generous portion (I was able to share it). My friend loved the tacos. The esquites were a little heavy on the cream so that made the temperature lukewarm to cold. As we sat inside the dinner rush started. I would return again in the future. The service was friendly, the portions were generous, and the location was convenient.

Chiliquiles and breakfast burritos

Legit Mexican food in Naperville. I lived here a few years and yearned for good Mexican food. Totopos opened the year I moved. Happy to now have a great place to go when I visit. - Located in a strip mall. Only one table in the corner and a high bay against the window - the lady working the counter was fantastic. Talked with passion and knowledge about the menu, prep style, seasonings, etc. - I had the chiliquiles and y'all...they were legit. Over easy eggs, extra sauce (my request) and a well prepped chorizo (good flavor and not greasy). Flavor of the sauce was fantastic. - chips still were firm, which allowed the sauce to hold the eggs and chorizo when eating. Beans and rice were well flavored (assuming the beans were cooked w lard - which is the only way to go). - my companions had the steak breakfast burrito and the veggie breakfast burrito. As you can see, they are seared on the grill after prep for a nice crunchy outside. I will be back - every time I am near Naperville. Kinda wish I was there now.

Chicken taco and Barbacoa taco - Mexican style

We stopped by last night, to dine in this time. There is only one table and some counter seating. We grabbed a couple of seats at the counter. We got the chicken tostada, 3 taco plate with rice and beans - two chicken and one chorizo. We also got chicken tamale and pineapple and coconut tamale - which was new to us. It tasted sooo good, I could've easily eaten three of them. All the food tasted good. My only complaint is about the salsas, they only give a couple of small salsa containers with the food. Each time we wanted some more, they only gave us these two small containers. Would love if they have some other salsa option when dining in. Otherwise, the food is really good.

Great spot for Mexican food. Everyone there is friendly and everything is made fresh. I've had quite a few of the tacos, the vegan tostada, quesadillas and pazole and enjoyed all of them. It's a small place and looks like most people order to go, but there is seating to eat there. Make sure to read the signs because that is often where you will find options that are not on the menu.

Super friendly service and great prices. One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area for casual dining! highly recommended

Great lunch spot for speedy service. My coworker had a torta and I ordered the steak burrito. I enjoyed the red sauce. My belly was happy when we left. Small but quaint. I will return.

Taco trio with vegetarian rice and beans

The place is small form inside a couple of outside stealing but big group will have hard time in seating. But the food is great. There are so many options for vegetarians and vegan. They have soy meat varieties which are so good. There are menu items that are authentic and different than you eat anywhere else. We tried taco combo with 3 different options grilled veggies, soy chorizo, and soy sausage. We tried tamale with black beans and soy chorizo. Tried Gordita with soy chorizo and with cactus also. They make food fresh so really hot which you want. The server was very sweet and helpful. They offer specials which change so we will surely return to taste other dish.

Are refried beans served here vegetarian? Are they fried in pork fat?

Their refried beans are vegetarian/vegan! All items on the "vegan/vegetarian" menu are carefully made avoiding cross contamination of meat/animal products (except for cheese/sour cream upon request) :)

The venue is well-staffed by pleasant, friendly, caffeinated staff. So, up to this point, I'd be happy awarding them 5 stars. But, I visited Tasty Biscuit this morning, and noted some things that I wish/hope Management and Corporate would address: 1. Sometime over this Summer, the Counter disappeared! You CAN'T have a Diner without a Counter!! I understand that this building is problematic - but when Quincy's was here, it was just fine. 2. The Staff was maybe a little too brisk for my Saturday 8:30 AM visit. I counted 11 in black t-shirts on the floor (probably more Servers in the back), moving at breakneck speed, although the restaurant was FAR from full. This may or may not be an issue to you. I enjoy a leisurely breakfast: over the past 5 decades, if I'm late for something, it's usually MY fault, and I politely tell my Server: who ensures their service is prompt and accurate. I go "inside" even if there's a drive-in Window. I enjoy chatting with people (hence my preference for Counters ) and try - ALWAYS - to try and make the Server's lives more pleasant and jolly. A little Kindness goes a long way! Not here, though. By the time you see the Server, they're walking away! An incident this morning - I was looking at the News on my iPhone, when I heard a bang on my table. I decoupled from my phone, and there on the Table was my BREAKFAST! I looked around, and there was nobody nearby- not a runner, not my Server. Not a word of greeting or warning or "here's your breakfast, Mr. Valued Customer!" Odd, impersonal, bleak, alarming, unjolly, soulless. and unsettling. It REALLY impacted my experience, dining there. 3. This morning, the food was not hot. It was not COLD either (or I would have raised a fuss), but it was not HOT, either. My butter would not melt on it. With all those people on the floor, and not at a "rush period", THERE IS NO EXCUSE. Not that J'd get one anyway from the Ijet-fueled Servers. 4. In my dotage (as my Usefulness in our "Winning Society" wanes and flickers out) , when I'm presented with the check, I present my Credit Card and my AARP Card. Whether Tasty Biscuit accepts them or not (they don't)!, this is an unobtrusive and (I've been told) POLITE way of giving the Server "all the information they need" without slowing them down. Essential, in this case. "God forbid I consume a nanosecond of their paid time!!! " The AARP card was not: * Acknowledged (Servers on Hi-Test) * Discounted (Tasty Biscuits' Corporate decision; I'm okay with that) Y'know, after mulling over my Experience this morning, I'm forced to re-rate my Review to Three Stars: * 5 stars to begin, based on my previous visits * Minus two stars for my Experience this morning. In the broader context, Tasty Biscuit, there is JUST NO REASON fir me to justify spending $21.93 (with tip) for a Belgian Waffle and an Iced Tea. None whatsoever. My only recourses here are to: * Enact a "No-Tip" policy unless the Service is truly exceptional * Stop visiting Tasty Biscuit altogether * Stop eating out. Period. I dislike the latter two, so only the first remains. It's apparent that the Industry wishes me to accelerate what's already happening: to make room for a younger person who has no traffic with Service, Kindness, and Human Interaction. Home-schooled Gen Z, probably, or rooting for the Fueher. Or both.

Service is great and both breakfast and lunch options are delicious! Today I opted for a savory/sweet mix with the smoked salmon avocado toast and French toast. The smoked salmon avocado toast is loaded up with salmon (no skimping here) and it's fresh and tasty- with an egg included too! The French toast is on fluffy challah bread and is perfect with a cup of their coffee or a latte.

I would most likely try something else next time. Hot Honey Chicken Quinoa Power Bowl (8/10) - it was really good and had good flavor. The hot honey was lacking. It wasn't spicy or hot. Adding additional hot sauce made it a lot better. Cinnamon Roll French Toast (5.5/10) - very light in flavor. A lot smaller than expected. I was very disappointed in their size. My spouse liked it more than I did. We definitely have conflicting thoughts on the toast. I would not get it again but my spouse would. Cookies n' Cream Harborccino (7/10) - very sweet. Explodes with cookie flavor. Tasty but definitely more a dessert drink that you drink on its own. Farmers Market Benedict (5/10) - the eggs Benedict were tasty. The sauce was great and the spinach was perfectly cooked. However, the tomato is just raw and uncooked tomato and feels like an after thought that did not fit the dish well. Neither did the artichoke hearts. I couldn't taste the basil and I was divided on the mushrooms. They were tasty sometimes and other bites weren't great. They were inconsistent. I didn't love this dish and wouldn't order it again. However, the potatoes were great. Price: it is a pricier place. Our total was $70 before tip. I wouldn't say this was a $70 worth brunch but I'll leave that up to you. Service: the hostess was very polite and sweet. Warm greeting. Our server wasn't at the same caliber of hospitality but she was, by no means, rude or untoward. Ambiance: it was rather empty but in a comfortable way. The tables and decor were rustic and country-core. Additional Notes - I didn't love that the cups looked dirty and worn. The menus and condiments need a quick wipe down. However, the pepper and salt were very clean.

We stayed in one of the panoramic rooms which was less luxurious than expected because of the sound of the highway and the views being mostly of a parking lot, highway and a pond. Could've been better…read more.. My wife and I were nearing the end of our ten day upper Midwest road trip, and needed a place to sleep on Friday night before taking a Saturday flight back to LAX from Chicago. I used Hyatt properties exclusively throughout the trip since I have a nice stash of points to use for free nights. I had reserved a stay at the Hyatt Place in Munster, IN, since it was very close to my wife's relatives who we were meeting that night for dinner. However, a couple of days before, received an email from the Munster Hyatt Place that many of their rooms did not have air conditioning because of the storms that had passed through their area the prior week. So ended up canceling the reservation (Hyatt will return your points if you cancel at least 24 hours before your stay) and decided to book something that was closer to where we were going to pick up my wife's mom the next day. The Hyatt Regency Lisle was the closest and also had the best redemption (at only 6,000 points). I was surprised at the low cost for a Regency, but figured it must be the location. We ended up checking in late, around 10 pm. Since we had to catch our flight the next day, we had to bring all of our luggage and various knick-knacks that we've been purchasing (and dumping into the back seat of our rental car) and bring it all upstairs. There was nobody out in front (which wasn't a big deal), but absolutely no luggage carts anywhere to be found. The lobby was empty, with one lone guy manning the check-in desk. He checked us in, told us we had a room on the 3rd floor. Hyatt sends out surveys after visits, and one of the questions asked if the guest had been recognized as a loyal member of Hyatt. The only times it did not happen during our road trips, was at the two Hyatt Regencies, this one included. Built in 1988 and last renovated in 2012, with 317 rooms and 13 floors. Thus elevators are a must. Well, two of the three elevators were out of service, and from the look of the sign, seemed like for a while. It has enough meeting spaces and ballrooms to host large events. And there was definitely night events happening, with the low price of rooms and it being a Friday night. There was no bottled water offered, so my wife went to the ice maker to get ice to melt down for water the next morning. We also spent a bit of time packing our bags, making sure we didn't hit the 50 lb limit (I had purchased beer to bring home so it was a bit of a challenge, but we made do). The room was definitely an older style, but the room and BR was clean with a shower/tub combo. It was meant to be a place to get in/out for an overnight stay, and figured I had done alright. There is no complementary breakfast at Regencies, so decided to checkout (via the app) and leave by 9am. I should have guessed what would happen...with only one elevator working, and people all trying to get to the lobby to leave, each elevator stopping on the 3rd floor was already full by the time it reached us (since there were 10 floors of people above us). After waiting 10 plus minutes, letting 2 elevators leave without us, was determined to get onto the 3rd one. It was full and a young women said 'Oh no, there is no room'. Yeah, I was a bit of an ass in making space for my wife and our bags (didn't ask..just told the people in front, "No..We are getting on...please make room). People were not happy, with some smartass in the back grumbling..."it's only the 3rd floor...you could have taken the stairs"...lol...pretty sure he didn't have any luggage. Luckily the elevator didn't break down with all the people, and we got out of there as fast as possible as soon as the door opened. Reading reviews, it was clear that the elevator situation has been bad for a while now...should have read Yelp before making the reservation. Lesson learned!
