I ordered: -protein bowl with steak (2 stars out of 5) -nachos supreme (2.5 stars out of 5) -chips and queso (4 stars out of 5) the protein bowl was really bland. the steak quality was pretty low and almost looks like ground beef. chipotle's steak is way better and much tastier and actually looks like real steak. the nachos supreme was also pretty bland, nothing special about it. it did come with a lot of cheese, however, it was not melted at all like the description on the menu says. 35%-40% of the chips were a little stale. it seeme like majority of the chips were fresh, but they threw in a 1/3rd stale chips to the mix so they don't waste what has already gone old. the guacomole and other ingredients on it were fine and tasted fresh. the chips and queso was the best part. the white melted hot queso was tasty and flavorful. again, some stale chips were mixed in with fresh ones in the brown bag. inconclusion, even with my $10 off coupon for the whole order, it really was not worth it, unless you're getting chips and queso with fresh chips only. the restaurant inside was very clean, however, there was not even 1 customer inside eating at 4pm on a Friday. I would not recommend overall as Chipotle and Qdoba are way better. read more

Hidden gem and needs more business! Fast and friendly service. The paneer taco isn't on the official menu but this place is better than velvet taco! I would love to cater from them. The service is so kind and quick. It gives casual/fast food joint vibes but would also be a cute date spot or to grab lunch. The tacos were very filling and made quite well! We wanted to try something new for our Taco Tuesday. This week we hit Taco Pros and we're very happy we did. The Tuesday special was a great price and there was a ton of filling in each taco. Tried the shrimp and barbacoa tacos. The shrimp was well cooked, tender and flavorful. The barbacoa was well seasoned and very good. The refried beans were great too. I'm a huge horchata fan and they didn't disappoint on that note either. Cant wait to come back to try some of their other tasty offerings. read more

Giving Taco Pros 1-star is even too good for them. What I ordered, & what I actually received wasn't even worth waiting for. I have NEVER received a quesadilla the size of a mini taco with HARD, BURNT, INEDIBLE CHEESE (barely there) and worthy of breaking a tooth on before. The order came with 3 tiny "quesadillas" that were cold, hard, & you needed a magnifying glass to find the "cheese" that was supposed to be warm & gooey. I have ordered quesadillas many times and never received this poor of an example of such item. I've gone a taco pros about five times since they've opened. I would agree the first time I went the food and service were all excellent. But each subsequent time the food, service, and time seem to be on a downward trend. The last time we went, I was with a friend that had a severe egg allergy. So we asked the front staff/ cashier if they had an allergy menu. Their respond was, "I don't know what that is, we only have menu menus" pointing to the sign above them. So their comments and gestures were offputting to say the least, especially someone that needs to be aware of what's in their food. We ordered some tacos, a quesadilla for my friend and some Horchata. They were starting to run low on the horchata... but they gave what was left. Unfortunately, the Herrada tasted spoiled, as though it's been sitting there for too long has gone bad. When the food did arrive, it was okay. But not worth the money spent for it. First time trying Taco Pros. Decide to take it to go after work. I am not going to lie, the reviews made me wait to try it. I kept saying to myself it could not possibly be this bad . I'm so glad I did! The young man at the register was super friendly and seemed to like being there. It took no more than 5 minutes for my order. Everything tasted really good!!!! The name itself scared me but I wanted to give it a try! Coming from the south side of Chicago, I knew I had to lower my expectations. We ordered the Taco Dinner, the steak tacos were MEH ok.. The meat was cut ip so much it kinda looked like ground beef. The rice was not good at all no flavor only thing that had flavor was the refried beans. The family running this location are fabulous. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, and their friendliness is beyond pale. However, I think they can cook better food than the recipes. They have been given by taco pros corporate. As others have said, the food is good, however, it is formula . My husband likes spicy food. He asked one of the ladies there if he could have a jalapeño. Not only did she get the jalapeño, but she roasted it and brought it out to him. The food made this great dinner for him. I just feel the people here make such better food than what they are being told to make. I would support them and go back. I will always make sure we get the roasted jalapeño!! read more

It's just cooked beef, on a taco We got Horchata and there is no refills on it so it's three dollars for basically not even half a glass?!? We decided to try this place because our area is seriously lacking in good Mexican food options (used to drive up to the taco truck) and we were VERY happy to discover the food tastes phenomenal. We tried a little of everything the first time to compare and discovered that the type of meat in each entree makes a difference. We love the chicken on the nachos and enchiladas, the steak in the quesadillas, and the pastor (pork) for tacos. The nachos are huge and the topping/chip ratio is perfectly proportioned - we get them pretty much every time. The quesadillas have just the right crispiness while staying soft and gooey inside, and I find myself hoping my son fills up before he finishes his as my go-to choice is the pastor taco. My daughter LOVES the burritos and they are enormous - they have fresh avocado in them also and all of the ingredients she loves without having to modify it at all, which is nice! I will say the kids' quesadilla meal was a little too small for my 8 year old so we just order him a regular one instead and skip the combo. We used to order strictly for take-out as my husband was on his way home, but last time decided to eat in the restaurant and it is very clean, bright, spacious, and comfortable! One word, bland. I was craving some tacos for lunch and decided to check out the place that took over Taco Fresco. I ordered three tacos (chicken, steak, and shrimp) Mexican style with tomatoes. First off the extra charge for things like tomatoes or cheese or sour cream at a Mexican place is ridiculous. Also they only have flour tortillas and I prefer corn but I can put up with that. What I can't put up with is how flavorless it was. The chicken was dry and the only spice they used was salt as far as I can tell. The steak and shrimp were cooked well but again, where's the spice? I don't even mean spicy heat but just spice in general. This is supposed to be Mexican food and yet I don't think cumin or a chili came within 50 feet of any of the ingredients. Spare yourself and just eat at Taco Bell, even that's better than this place. The food is clearly frozen that they just heat up. I ordered enchiladas and tried to switch up my sauces to which the cashier said I couldn't, makes sense since it's a frozen enchilada with the sauce already caked onto it. The "queso" was plastic.
