Food is great. Customer service not so. Ordered from here many times. Today Grub hub driver decided to either eat my lunch or delivered somewhere else. I called the driver 3 times and they hung up. Text just to find my food order and no response. Called Grub hub to be told they can't help. Called Velvet taco 3 times, the 3rd call someone answered. I asked if they could make another lunch and someone to deliver to me. They said they don't and if I wanted a refund to go through the app. No where in the app does it let you get a refund. Found in the app that if you want a refund to call the restaurant as soon as possible. Customer service is key in a lot of businesses and obviously today Velvet taco in Naperville doesn't have it

Taco combo with elote and chips

Finally got a chance to try Velvet Taco. It did not disappoint. Had a Chicken Rotisserie Bowl; hubby had a Taco Combo (2 tacos, a side, and a fountain drink). Fun taco choices! He had one Fish & chips, and one Rotisserie chicken. His side choice was elote corn and chips. Everything was absolutely phenomenal! Big portions. Tons of moist chicken, rice, avocado crema, guacamole, pico in my bowl. Hubby said it was one of the best fish filets he'd had. Very tasty. Highly recommend Velvet Taco. We're both anxious to return and try some of the other yummy options.

The tacos were average at best. Nothing exciting that I'd want to come back. One feedback - please add some vegan gluten free options to the menu. I got the Nashville tofu and requested for corn tortilla. I did have a reaction since it didn't strike me that the crispy part of the coating is made of flour.

This restaurant has plenty of options for tacos and bowls including veggie options. I went with a combo with one shrimp taco and one rotisserie chicken taco. Both of the tacos were packed full! The shrimp one had so much shrimp in it. For my side, I got the queso and it was tasty. Combo also comes with a soft drink. I feel like it was a decent amount of food. My husband and I also split a piece of their red velvet cake and OMG! So good! The cashier that took our order was super friendly. I noticed that she was that way with all of the guests. The food did take a little bit, and we got there before a busy dinner rush. I see this place doing well in the new Block 59 addition.

Block 59 is really growing. We decided to grab some food, and we decided on tacos. First all, they have red velvet cake it's delicious! I had the brisket, rice, and refried beans. The portions are generous, and I was stuffed. There's plenty of parking as all the lots are somewhat connected. The staff here are super friendly.

I've been here several times (as well as a location in Dallas) and very much enjoy their food. A few quibbles. - The menu is big and each dish has lots of ingredients, so study up on what you'll order before you go or you will be standing there forever figuring it out. - The same dish hasn't always been consistent: one time I ordered the chimmichuri taco and it was spicy, another time it was blow your head off spicy. - It's pretty loud in here. Music is hard to talk over, and it's fast casual, so you order at the counter and then someone is blaring over the loudspeaker, "Johnny, it's taco time!" My favorite tacos have been the chicken and waffles and the quesaBirria (though those can be a bit greasy). The corn tortillas are a bit tough here; the flour ones are better. You can also get bowls, and on Mondays they sell a whole rotisserie chicken package. I love their queso Blanco as well as the thai- inspired queso. There are a few alcohol options (margaritas, sangritas, ranch water) plus fountain drinks. Overall, still wish we would get a Torchy's in the Midwest, but I'll take Velvet Taco for unique flavors and tasty combinations.

Good vibe. And musica for a tasteful flavor explosion at Velvet taco. I came for their soft opening, and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It's fast casual with food made to order. They pause the music and call out your name when order is ready. I personally had the brisket barbacoa bowl which was great. A filling meal, the meat was tender but had the right chew still. The dining room is comfortable and trendy. Since they were testing their service and being max full I'm sure it was a bit slower than what it'll be, but the food is definitely worth it. The staff was hard at work and was friendly. I'll definitely be back for another taco dinner next time. Gosh I always choose something other than what theyre known for. I should have gotten tacos instead as the flight of tacos that my friends shared seemed really spectacular! The plaza Velvet taco is in is relatively new Block 59. Was very difficult to find parking at 530pm on a Saturday. The margarita is good and strong. Sangria has a good wine taste and the right sweetness. Steak was very good my kids devoured it. Shrimp was good smoky flavor. Though the kids thought that the bowls were spicy. I think if the kids get bowls again, that they have pico de Gallo on the side. And queso instead of the crema sauces. Adults would love the blend of flavors. It's a solid A meal. Great to spend time with friends.

Gluten Free Rotisserie Chicken Bowl missing extra corn tortilla.
    Kelly K.

1st time ordering from VT via Uber Eats Delivery... 1st I don't know why it's so hard for workers to fulfill orders properly? I didn't get the extra corn tortilla I paid .65 extra for with my GF Rotisserie Chicken Bowl and I didn't get tater tots with my kids chicken Taco sub corn tortilla for flour that came with my kids meal. It's maddening to choose a restaurant pick out what items you want then something else arrives. My kids chicken taco made with 2 chicken tenders was small but flavorful as well as a bit of spice from Queso Blanco. I was looking so forward to VT tater tots :-( My gluten free bowl was very good black beans have a "kick" guacamole was great buttered rice was extremely delicious you get a Huge portion enough for another meal. I used part of my kids meal corn tortilla to make my own Gluten Free taco. If I go back? I will go to the Velvet Taco restaurant where I can get my missing food items resolved right away not have to go through Uber Eats for resolution.

All three veggie tacos! Queso and elote!
    Dana R.

Big fan!!! I was so excited to try this place. We had never been before. I was even more thrilled to see there was a vegetarian menu and my favorite taco was the fried paneer cheese taco. I definitely could not handle the heat on the Nashville hot tofu, but it was still flavorful. The beer battered cauliflower was really good as well! I appreciated it being able to download the app and order right there helped me skip the line and got me a free queso. The Elote was bomb and had a lot of flavor! I will definitely be back and can't wait to enjoy these yummy tacos again. The restaurant itself had a cool vibe and was definitely fun and hip.

Came here with a friend for lunch. It was packed when we arrived around 2pm. We were lucky to find seats. They have many GF options I could choose from. We tried their trio of dips which had guacamole, queso and elotes. It was delicious. I ordered a veggie bowl with corn tortillas. I asked them to switch gloves and they noted the allergy on all my items. It was a lot of food so I was able to bring it home.

They're…read moredog-friendly and welcomed us onto the patio with our little Shorkie puppy, making it a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful weather, have a few margaritas, and relax. We started with the complimentary house-made salsa and warm tortilla chips. The salsa was robust and incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of kick. The chips were fresh and crisp, with the perfect thickness and satisfying salty crunch that made it way too easy to keep reaching for another one. We also ordered the queso fundido with chorizo, which came out piping hot and bubbling in a cast-iron skillet with roasted peppers and plenty of chorizo. Rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor, it was definitely worth ordering for the table, especially scooped up with the warm tortillas and chips! For our mains, we had the birria tacos and Tampiqueña. The birria tacos were excellent; tender, juicy, full of rich, savory flavor, and even better dipped in their consommé. The Tampiqueña was equally impressive, with a perfectly cooked and well-seasoned steak, cheese enchilada, Mexican rice, refried beans, a wedge of fried cheese, and a generous scoop of freshly made guacamole. It was a substantial plate, but nothing felt like an afterthought; everything worked together, and the steak was the standout. My only gripe would be the margaritas; they were... fine. They could've used a much heavier pour of tequila. But credit where credit's due, they were ice-cold, refreshing, and went down very easily alongside the meal. Our server, Chris, was excellent throughout our visit. He was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and personable. Despite taking care of us and four other tables on the patio, he checked in at all the right times and made sure we always had what we needed without hovering or making us feel rushed. All-in, our bill was about $124 for two, including tax and a 22% tip. Considering the amount of food, multiple margaritas, and the overall experience, we felt the value was pretty reasonable for the Downtown Naperville area. Between the excellent food, great service, and being able to bring our puppy along, we really enjoyed our first visit to Fat Rosie's. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, the portions were generous, and we left very happy with our choice. It was exactly the kind of laid-back patio dinner we were looking for, and we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

BIEN HERE BEFORE As…read morepart of the Bien Trucha restaurant family, Quiubo serves some familiar flavors in downtown Naperville. The Water St area has a great variety of restaurants including Vasili's (modern Greek), Blue Sake (sushi), SixtyFour Wine Bar and Quiubo (modern Mexican).  Technically I ate from here once - takeout during covid - but it was so long ago it might as well not count.  Most recently, my wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday in late June and sat outside. The sangria ($14) was strong, I appreciated the extra touches like apple bitters and a float of bourbon.  My wife loved the Pa'Dentro ($15), a cocktail with tequila, passion fruit, and orange liqueur.  The mango habanero margarita ($15) was also mixed perfectly.  5/5 The guacamole ($11) was fresh and flavorful: avocado, tomatillo, onion, cilantro, serrano and lime.  My wife found it a bit too spicy (diced serrano adds more heat than a traditional jalapeno) but I enjoyed it despite a small-ish portion.  4/5 We also got a queso fundido de camaron ($16): melted chihuahua cheese, red onion and pan seared shrimp, with tortillas and cilantro-serrano sauce.  Pan searing the shrimp instead of grilling them is certainly a choice....but not one I'd make again.  2/5 Esquites ($8.50), on the other hand, were awesome: grilled corn, epazote butter, lemon aioli, cotija cheese, tajin.  One of the best we've tried in a long time, but for $9 we expected a lot more elote!  5/5 The birria tacos (2 for $11) were very good; my wife was right to point out they should've come with a cup of birria juice on the side.  The tacos al pastor (2 for $10) were delicious: marinated pork with pineapple, cilantro, onion and salsa morita.  Next time, more tacos!  4.5/5 For dessert we got flan ($10), a creamy vanilla custard with caramel, rompope and cookie crumbs.  It was a denser style of flan and tasted amazing, but I don't know how I feel about that random pile of cookie dust.  4/5 Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 3.5 It took way too long for a server to come over and take our order at the beginning.  Thankfully the food came out FAST!  The bar, on the other hand, was lagging big time.  We were more than halfway finished with dinner by the time our cocktails showed up. Also important note for cheapskates like me: they do not serve free chips & salsa.  Quiubo isn't that kind of place, so if you want salsa with chips, you'll have to pay for it. * TL;DR * Rest assured you can get the same high quality tacos and cocktails from the Bien Trucha group. We were really impressed with a couple items like the esquites/elotes and al pastor tacos, as well as the atmosphere inside.  The vibes outside were solid and even though service was slow at first, we'd love to come back.  I'd recommend Quiubo for sure.

The quality genuinely reminded me of more upscale spots like A Toda Madre or Bien Trucha. The prickly pear margarita was on the smaller side, but they certainly didn't skimp on the tequila. It was crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with my meal. Despite a busy Saturday afternoon, service was quick and friendly, and more importantly everyone in our party loved their food and couldn't stop talking about how fresh and flavorful everything was. We also appreciated the toppings bar and salsa selection, which made it easy to customize each taco exactly how we wanted. My only knock is that several tables sat dirty for a while after guests left, and the dining room didn't seem to get much attention. Since this was our first visit during a busy lunch rush, I'm hesitant to say that's the norm, but it was noticeable...
