    Fish Burrito and Chicken Quesadilla
    Bailey P.

Great food and very affordable! We stopped by on a Friday night and the place was hopping! We were lucky to snag the last table. It seemed like their "to go" is pretty popular too. We ordered at the counter and it didn't take long for our food to arrive. I tried the chicken quesadilla which was delicious! Big portion - LOT of cheese - and it came with guac! My boyfriend had the fish burrito and a beer which he said was both a 10/10. Our meal also came with complimentary chips and salsa. I hope to be back sometime soon to try the shrimp burrito!

YESSSSSSS! I've been struggling to find my go to taco spot and I can FINALLY say Jefa Tacos is it!!! My husband and I stopped in for dinner here during the week. Throughout our time there carry out and dine in orders were consistently being prepared. Staff members were friendly and helpful. They also gave us complimentary chips and salsa. I think the chips are made to order bc they came out fresh and were still hot. They were delicious. The space can seat up to ~50 people. It was designed nicely and sets the tone of an authentic Mexican taco spot. I tried 3 tacos - tinga de pollo, al pastor and the Jefa taco. Their chicken tinga has been the first 1 I've ever had that was not dry. It was cooked perfectly, juicy, and was full of flavor. My husband and I shared rice and beans and I'll definitely be adding that the next time we're back. I don't normally order rice and beans since everywhere I go they seem to be meh. That wasn't the case here. It was very good!

Thank you to my fellow Yelpers for recommending this hidden gem in Aurora. Located in a strip center on Butterfield Rd....Jefa Tacos serves fresh and authentic Mexican foods at affordable prices. You order yourself from their huge selection of tacos, tortas, burritos, tamales and much more. Breakfast served all day! While you wait for your food to be made ,they serve you warm homemade chips and salsa.. complimentary! We tried their Taco Asada,Shrimp and Jefa tacos along with a Grilled veggie tostada and a Steak tostada. Everything was flavorful and delicious! They also have a variety of Mexican sodas as well as desserts. Kids menu also available. Super friendly staff makes you feel at home and the food was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try more of their fantastic Mexican cuisine.

Cute, casual taco joint with a friendly staff. this recommend eatery was so affordable and the food was flavorful. I loved the colorful decor. Chips were warm and the salsa had a bright Smokey flavor. The veggies tostada was loaded and is worth a return visit on its own. I also took two tamales home to try later and I loved that the staff recommended how to best reheat them.

I stopped in here for lunch on a Wednesday in between meetings and what a nice find! The place wasn't very crowded as it was the beginning of Lunch time. The restaurant was well lit with traditional, colorful art hung on and painted on the walls and ceilings. The place was very clean and had a pretty packed menu. I tried a shrimp and pastor taco with rice and beans. I was seated and chips and salsa came out as well. The shrimp taco was my favorite of everything I tried. I liked the fast service and clean welcoming environment!

A hidden gem! They have the best Shrimp and Fish tacos I have ever had. The food is always flavorful hot and made fresh to order! The vibrant atmosphere and friendly service make each visit a delightful experience. Don't forget to try their homemade warm salsa. It's a place you'll find yourself returning to, eager to explore more of their delicious offerings!

Super my first taste of Mexican on this trip stateside. Enormous portion too much for me and good overall flavours combined with a good heat

I have been here a couple times now and every time my family and I eat here the food tastes great. The complimentary chips and salsa are good but I wish there was more. The last time I visited I ordered nachos. They were flavorful and very filling. The atmosphere can be a little over whelming because of the lights, music, and TVs going but didn't bother us too much. Would recommend to others to try.

Service was fast, but food was not authentic. Melted cheese like at the ballpark for nachos.

La Sierra was approximately a 35-minute drive from our home in the western suburbs. We arrived at approximately 8:30 AM. As we drove up my wingman John commented that he would not have come into this neighborhood or restaurant if I was not with him. Yes, the neighborhood was a bit rough (I grew up in Pilsen in the 1960's) but to me it felt like home in Chicago. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the hostess and waitress and told to sit-down anywhere we wanted. We chose a booth in the second room of the restaurant; the walls were covered with photos of Mexico and the smell coming from the kitchen was heaven. Our waitress quickly approached us for our drink order, she mentioned that they had Cafe de la Olla (made with piloncillo-unrefined whole cane sugar from Latin America, and cinnamon sticks) which we both ordered. The coffee arrived in a colorful Mexican traditional mug (just the way my mother used to make me). It was delicious! We then ordered our breakfast, which was Mexican Chilaquiles (a traditional, comforting breakfast dish consisting of crispy tortilla chips simmered in red or green salsa until slightly softened) with eggs, meat & refired beans. We were both in "Heaven", the tortilla chips were perfectly cooked with just enough "Crisp" to them. Just the way my mother used to make me on a weekend morning. My wingman & I both agreed that we will be returning and bringing our fellow foodies with us to try the other dishes offered!

There was a line when we got there (around noon) which I feel is usually a sign of tasty food. The tortilla chips were so yummy with a flavorful seasoning and delicious salsa. My first visit to La Birria Loca…read more I was initially expecting a sit-down restaurant, but it turned out to be carry-out only, with a few picnic tables in the back for seating. That was a surprise at first, but we made it work. One thing that caught me off guard was the pricing. When ordering, I was asked if I wanted pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole, but it wasn't clear these were additional charges. I assumed they came with the meal. Three orders plus drinks ended up being over $100, which was unexpected. I did have to double-check the receipt, and to their credit, the staff quickly removed the extra charges once I brought it up and told him I didn't need pico, sour cream and gaucamole. Our tab still came to $87 for the 3 entrees with drinks. Despite that, the food itself was very tasty. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared, and we were genuinely surprised at how good it was. Consume was one the best I've had hands down. They portion sizes are well worth it. Their hot sauces were also excellent, with spice levels clearly labeled by number, which made it fun to try different heat levels. Overall, even with the confusion around pricing and setup, I would definitely come back again for the food.

The parking looks awful until you spy the public lot just one storefront away. The interior is simple, which I prefer. Some cute knickknacks but not too much. The menu is the traditional Mexican fare, tacos, burritos, fajitas, plates, etc. Everyone should be able to find something to please them. The waitress was so sweet and helpful. They were doing a lot of take out orders and had my party and another couple dining in. She did great making sure we all had what we needed. We all started talking to one another so felt like dinner with a bunch of friends. My friends had the steak tacos and the Americano plate. Both really liked their items. The tacos were well filled and the meat tender and juicy. The plate had lots of steak on it as well as rice, beans, tortillas, etc. The sauce was a tad spicy but not overpowering for my non-spice liking friend. The star of the night was the Crazy Burrito. Massive burrito filled with shrimp, steak, fries, rice, guac and more. And when I say massive, I mean MASSIVE. Everything inside somehow all went together incredibly well. But each bite was different depending on what the ratio of the items was. Probably 1 of the top 3 burritos I've ever had. The steak, meat and shrimp were all perfectly cooked. Will definitely go back next time in Chicago.
