Great food and very affordable! We stopped by on a Friday night and the place was hopping! We were lucky to snag the last table. It seemed like their "to go" is pretty popular too. We ordered at the counter and it didn't take long for our food to arrive. I tried the chicken quesadilla which was delicious! Big portion - LOT of cheese - and it came with guac! My boyfriend had the fish burrito and a beer which he said was both a 10/10. Our meal also came with complimentary chips and salsa. This is a restaurant where you order at the counter and someone brings your food out. It's in a storefront in a strip mall. Clean, colorful, and good music. We ordered the shrimp tacos and chilaquiles. The tacos were served on a flour tortilla, a practice I've never seen. The filling was somewhat like coleslaw. It was a weird combo. YESSSSSSS! I've been struggling to find my go to taco spot and I can FINALLY say Jefa Tacos is it!!! My husband and I stopped in for dinner here during the week. Throughout our time there carry out and dine in orders were consistently being prepared. Staff members were friendly and helpful. They also gave us complimentary chips and salsa. I think the chips are made to order bc they came out fresh and were still hot. They were delicious. The space can seat up to ~50 people. It was designed nicely and sets the tone of an authentic Mexican taco spot. I tried 3 tacos - tinga de pollo, al pastor and the Jefa taco. Their chicken tinga has been the first 1 I've ever had that was not dry. It was cooked perfectly, juicy, and was full of flavor. My husband and I shared rice and beans and I'll definitely be adding that the next time we're back. I don't normally order rice and beans since everywhere I go they seem to be meh. This queso is delicious, nice subtle kick to it too! The service here is awesome. We let them know I'm allergic to raw tomatoes and easily could accommodate. I'm from California and honestly it's hard to find some great authentic pork tamales in this area. But once I came here I couldn't believe how much nostalgia I got after I tried their pork tamales. Reminded me of my childhood!! It was hot and fresh, dipped the tamales in their red hot sauce and it was the cherry on top. Good customer service but the food was so mid. So over priced, I got a burrito dinner and it cold and filled with mostly all topping. Barely any steak inside, I felt like I was eating just a cold cheese and lettuce burrito. This place is Located on the far North East side of Aurora. You think your in North Aurora but your not. Great location since there are very few Taco joints in this area. This place is very clean and organized. Has a great Mexican feel to it. First I want to say I love that they serve free Chips and Salsa. What's unique is that they serve the Salsa warm. I love this and the flavor is awesome with just a-little spice to get your taste buds going. The rice was better than most Mexican restaurant in Aurora so that's a plus. We went straight to the Specialty Tacos and it was worth it! We had the Jefa tacos...... Wow very different but not disappointed. Skirt Steak, Chorizo, Chihuahua Cheese, Roasted Padilla and there signature dark sauce. You have to try it. My new favorite is their Fish Tacos. Beer battered Tilapia with cabbage slaw, Pico de Gallo and their spicy chipotle mayo. If you Love Fish this will hit your taste buds. Their Pastor tacos are very good nothing special. I have really enjoyed this restaurant and it seems to get better each time. From the start, this small tucked away restaurant feels comfy and fun. And the staff is great. We were greeted warmly and helped when we had questions. No special requests are turned away. They have a very nice assortment of choices from the usual to some fun and interesting options showing their flavor and style. I have been enjoying the tamales on my last few visits, especially with creama and cotija cheese. The tacos and flautas are fantastic as well. I appreciate that they serve their salsa warm. A few places do this and if you're not familiar it may seem strange at first but it really helps the flavors come out of the salsa. I want to add again about the service. Jefa is minutes away from us but it took a few years to stop in. After eating here, I now wish I would have come sooner! We met some friends here for dinner on Saturday night at their recommendation. Jefa's menu is pretty extensive so picking something out isn't easy. In the end the Tinga de Pollo taco's and dish sounded best, and they did not disappoint. My wife had the nachos which I tried a few of as well. Both were terrific. To cap things off my friend recommended the Horchata, which I got to go. Horchata is never a bad call!
