The restaurant gives accompanying sauces a green one and a red one. The green sauce was amazing with all the tacos. The red sauce was a little spicy and great with the Jefa taco. My boyfriend got the al pastor tacos, the Jefa taco and the fish taco. The fish taco was crunchy with a orange sauce and citrus that was a heavenly bite. The Jefa taco was a steak taco with chorizo. While waiting for our order we were served warm tortillas chips and salsa made with love. Tacos were cooked to perfection. A little crisp on the corn tortilla and the most Devine flavor combinations. Jefa Tacos is a more upscale strip mall order at the counter kind of taco place. It's nice, clean and well decorated. Their complementary chips were very good, the salsa is warm but still pretty good. I had a fish taco, steak taco and al pastor taco. I liked the fish and steak taco much better than the al pastor. The batter on the fish taco was crisp, the fish was juicy and it was complimented with a tangy slaw. Their side of queso is definitely worth trying. read more

My 8 year old son requested tacos for dinner, and since it is Tuesday, who am I to deny him tacos? This wasn't our first visit to Jefa Tacos, but I've never reviewed it, so here we go. We decided to dine in today, because sometimes it's just nice to be out and about. It could be risky dining with a toddler and his labile mood, but Jefa is a pretty casual counter service place. The music is pretty loud, so kid noise goes pretty much unnoticed, but quiet enough to converse with your dining companions. Music choice is pretty modern Latin style music, which I really like. I love the ambiance and feel inside the restaurant. It is the perfect balance of bright and trendy while still paying homage to Mexican culture. The art on the walls is beautiful, and there is plenty to keep little eyes busy looking around at the flags, piñatas, and bright colors. When you dine in, they serve chips and salsa while you wait for your entrees. The chips are great and the salsa a little spicy but perfect to my taste. Today I ordered a Taco Salad with steak, which I have ordered before. It was amazing as usual. They serve it in a taco shell bowl. Our 8 year old had the Kids 1 Taco Plate with refried beans and rice, and he demolished that taco and said he loved the "way the mash the beans". Our toddler had a Kids Jr Quesadilla with refried beans and rice. He was not a fan of the beans today, but ate his portion and his big brother's portion of rice. The Jr Quesadilla (as pictured sans one slice) is obscenely large for a toddler. Next time I would probably order him the baby quesadilla, which they make on a smaller tortilla. Finally, my husband ordered his standard asada taco plate. It looked delicious and he is part of the clean plate club today so I am pretty sure he liked it! As if we hadn't eaten enough, my husband decided they needed to sample the churros as well. We ordered 2 churros to share, and it was probably the best churro I've ever had. They were very accommodating to allow for the combo of chicken and shrimp for the fajitas. The guacamole was fresh and I couldn't get enough! Great value, as we received a ton of food. You receive complimentary chips and salsa when dining in, and they also bring out additional green (yummy!) and red salsa. It's a fast casual joint order at the counter and either dine-in or takeout. Chips and warm roasted tomato salsa was served at dine-in and complimentary. I had the 2 taco platter with rice and beans (tinga chicken and fried fish) along with pineapple juice. The tacos were full and hearty as well as the beans (yum). Steak Taco This is legit real carved and flame grilled steak and you can taste this in every single bite as its juices erupt and spill flavor all over your tongue. It's beefy. Chicken Tinga Red shredded chicken that has a great flavor and wait for it.... you can actually taste the chicken! Many places simply smother the chicken in a heavy sticky red marinade of spices that masks the natural flavor of the chicken, but Jefa Tacos takes great care to balance the flavors of the spices that not only pair well with the chicken but enhance the overall flavor! It was great, I loved it, why don't I get it every time? Read on. Al Pastor In my book no other taco can come close to the flavor of a well done AP taco. Many restaurants have tried. Maybe its unfair to judge a restaurant by the way they deliver on a single rendition of taco but when done right, there is no need to order any other taco as the Al Pastor has long held the top rank in my stomach as the only taco ever needed to eat. Jefa Tacos delivers here too. I cannot express my fondness of the AP enough, and Jefa Tacos has really got me over a barrel as they are slinging the best tacos in the area.
