Burrito de carne asada
Mariaelena Z.

Although I didn't capture a photo of my dish, the quality of everything was exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed my taco dinner plate and specifically ordered the tripa taco well done, which turned out to be how I requested; a delightful surprise. Additionally, we ordered two large horchata drinks, which were both refreshing and delicious. My husband opted for a burrito and he expressed his satisfaction with its superb taste. We were grateful that this restaurant was open on New Year's Eve, as it was our first visit but certainly not our last. We left as content and satisfied customers. The restaurant was clean and organized and the owners were very friendly.

I always come here when in Aurora for their tacos dorados desebrada. I grew up in Aurora and this place is by far the best place for their crunchy tacos. It might be because I grew up here but this is my favorite restaurant ever for cause dining. Tacos are crunchy but not overly cooked and the meat is soft and melts in your mouth. Their side bar always helps spruce up your food. Salsas are all very spicy and perfect blends of vegetables to get a good consistency. I hate watery salsas lol. Wait staff has always been young men from their family or family friends that have always been very courteous for the 20+ years I've been coming here. They get really busy on the weekends as they stay open late but they have a not of booths since it's for in and out service. Definitely will always recommend!

Tongue taco

Tongue taco $3 - This taco was surprisingly not greasy. The tongue was meaty but not very flavorful. Good, but my favorite is still from Las Cemitas. Other tacos (like al pastor) are reasonably priced at $1.50. Definitely good tacos. ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . Excellent authentic food. Friendly and attentive service. I got the chicken quesadilla and it's was great. The cheese is quality and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. My friends got chicken, steak and chorizo tacos. They loved the chicken and steak. They didn't like the chorizo as much, apparently the meat was a little grainy and not seasoned well. Everything else was amazing. Give it a try!

JP P. was a little off on this one. The al pastor, carne aside, and chorizo everyone should stay away from. Especially when they are used in a taco that can only be used to fill a cavity (I don't have any!). But it is worth the trip for a pollo tacos dorados. Those things are addictive. I love them! Very delicious!

Definitely not my favorite taco place around. Served us tacos on FLOUR tortillas without asking? Salsa verde was not good.

They were extremely overpriced. The tacos were little and they didn't taste like anything never ever going back. I'd rather eat grass.

La Sierra was approximately a 35-minute drive from our home in the western suburbs. We arrived at approximately 8:30 AM. As we drove up my wingman John commented that he would not have come into this neighborhood or restaurant if I was not with him. Yes, the neighborhood was a bit rough (I grew up in Pilsen in the 1960's) but to me it felt like home in Chicago. We walked in and were warmly greeted by the hostess and waitress and told to sit-down anywhere we wanted. We chose a booth in the second room of the restaurant; the walls were covered with photos of Mexico and the smell coming from the kitchen was heaven. Our waitress quickly approached us for our drink order, she mentioned that they had Cafe de la Olla (made with piloncillo-unrefined whole cane sugar from Latin America, and cinnamon sticks) which we both ordered. The coffee arrived in a colorful Mexican traditional mug (just the way my mother used to make me). It was delicious! We then ordered our breakfast, which was Mexican Chilaquiles (a traditional, comforting breakfast dish consisting of crispy tortilla chips simmered in red or green salsa until slightly softened) with eggs, meat & refired beans. We were both in "Heaven", the tortilla chips were perfectly cooked with just enough "Crisp" to them. Just the way my mother used to make me on a weekend morning. My wingman & I both agreed that we will be returning and bringing our fellow foodies with us to try the other dishes offered!

At first I wasn't sure if this place was even open as all the reviews I saw on Yelp and google…read moreappeared to be several years old. There was a line when we got there (around noon) which I feel is usually a sign of tasty food. The tortilla chips were so yummy with a flavorful seasoning and delicious salsa. The service was quick and the food was great. While the interior leaves something to be desired, everything seemed clean and the food was great!

The parking looks awful until you spy the public lot just one storefront away. The interior is simple, which I prefer. Some cute knickknacks but not too much. The menu is the traditional Mexican fare, tacos, burritos, fajitas, plates, etc. Everyone should be able to find something to please them. The waitress was so sweet and helpful. They were doing a lot of take out orders and had my party and another couple dining in. She did great making sure we all had what we needed. We all started talking to one another so felt like dinner with a bunch of friends. My friends had the steak tacos and the Americano plate. Both really liked their items. The tacos were well filled and the meat tender and juicy. The plate had lots of steak on it as well as rice, beans, tortillas, etc. The sauce was a tad spicy but not overpowering for my non-spice liking friend. The star of the night was the Crazy Burrito. Massive burrito filled with shrimp, steak, fries, rice, guac and more. And when I say massive, I mean MASSIVE. Everything inside somehow all went together incredibly well. But each bite was different depending on what the ratio of the items was. Probably 1 of the top 3 burritos I've ever had. The steak, meat and shrimp were all perfectly cooked. Will definitely go back next time in Chicago.

The restaurant was clean, quiet, the bathrooms were clean, the cashier so sweet and patient--I couldn't ask for more! We ordered a asada burrito dinner, a chorizo burrito, and a large horchata to split. We were given a basket of chips and a delicious salsa that had flavor, but wasn't too spicy! The burritos were generously filled and had avocado! That's not something I see everywhere. The beans were a great consistency, the rice was soft and flavorful, and the horchata was top notch! It had a unique flavor, too, and wasn't watery. The cup also wasn't overfilled with ice! While we were patiently waiting for the burritos, we fell victim to the slideshow and decided we just had to try a gordita lol. It was SO good, but the portions were so filling we had to take the rest of the gordita and part of a burrito with. The tomatillo sauce was perfect and the red sauce had quite a kick to it, but not enough that it was painful. The food didn't NEED any extra sauce, but I like to try them, anyways! I wished I lived in this area so I could eat more gorditas, but I will definitely stop here again if I am around! If you're lucky enough to live in the area, please do support this sweet business!

We will definitely be back. Thank you!
