Holy crap is this place the holy land! In NC we have to buy from state mandated liquor stores where the employees have a racket of hiding the rare booze and having their buddies come and get it and then selling it for a profit on the secondary market. So I was absolutely blown away by all the "allocated" and rare liquors just sitting on the shelves here. One of the biggest selections of liquors I've ever seen. Each main type, bourbon, scotch, rum, tequila, etc...had their own locked case with extremely rare items. Prices were out of this world, way better than in NC. Johnnie Walker Blue was $199...in NC that's $259. They have a lot of the items listed with ratings. I bought a couple cheap bottles of highly rated scotches and they were fantastic and a heck of a deal at $25 and $30. One of them tastes like a $90 bottle. They have a tasting bar also where you can taste several items they have out on display. Staff is super knowledgeable about flavor profiles and can point out great buys. I find that just about anything displayed with a per person limit was a great find and I got several. Their mini-bottle selection is the biggest I've ever seen. I love the tiny moonshine jars. Back in NC I've had to buy big bottles only to find out that I didn't like it. Pulled the trigger on several mini bottles. I went on a Friday and this place was packed! Worst app ever? Could be. After 45 minutes I give up. It was only $100 order that I wanted to pick up later but no go. I tried to do the order straightforward, then go back and add my address before trying to check out, added a new credit card, and it just spends. Love the store and employees however. read more

This is a fantastic store with great product choices. They have my Mom's favorite wine at the best price! Today she left her purse in a cart outside. She called the store and a wonderful employee, Brad, went so far and above for her. He found her purse outside in a cart and brought it in for her for safekeeping until she could get back. This store was a lifesaver while we were staying in Myrtle Beach. While the hotel had bubbles, I did not want to spend $40 plus a bottle just to have a drink. I called an Uber and a lovely woman drove me over. I was very happy with the selection of bubbles that they had and their prices were not bad. The store itself is very large and well organized. Although I did not need help, there was a gentleman who offered to assist me in looking for items. If you are staying in the area and like to have your own drinks in your room, take an Uber to this place if you don't have a rental car. It will be well worth the ride. read more

I had a terrible experience checking out. The clerk came over on the Mayflower, she had zero people skills, could not find the skews and had trouble getting the bottles in the box. I was using an offer on the app to purchase 12 bottles for a 20% discount, which she did not apply. She said I did not qualify, which is complete bs, I have used this offer many times. "Faux" alcohol beverages have been getting really popular lately. Some people who can't consume alcohol for one reason or another just want the taste of a beer or a wine or a bubbly and a number of manufacturers have really stepped up to the plate with their offerings. And Total Wine has been doing a great job of stocking this stuff. That said, it's sometimes hard to find. We found an associate, asked him where we could locate the non-alcoholic products and rather than pointing or giving directions, he led us over there. And then, once he confirmed that we were now in the right spot, he asked if there was anything else he could help with. And he didn't just ask and walk off, he asked, paused while we answered in the negative, and then walked off. It was polite and helpful. Awesome. There's one particular beer that my wife really really enjoys and we were super pleased to find them here. We bought 3 six-packs and two bottles of non-alcohol wine for Thanksgiving. Ringing up our purchases at the register was easy and quick. Great COVID protocols here with all staff wearing masks, customers wearing masks, social distancing spots on the floor for waiting in queue and full plexiglass at the registers. Awesome. I went inside a finally tracked down a nice lady who was very helpful and knowledgeable about her products then the problems started. I went to the check out and had a decision to make door #1 or door#2. I chose door 2. There was an elderly couple and the line broke down. I tried to escape to the line I should have chosen. That was not going to happen because the dear sweet northern folks escaping would not have me switch. I went to the customer service counter and they said sorry but we can't do check out. That's when they brought the alligator out of the pit. She never made eye contact or said a word. I had a $100.00 gift card that was a pain to open and she was very unhappy when I ask her to assist. Still not a word she finally managed to rip it open. My purchase was $46.50. After she used my card to pay for it she promptly threw it in the trash can. Still no word. I explained it to her. She ripped into the trash and pulled it out without a word. Her face said it all. Weened on a pickle. Except in her case I'd say 2 pickles. Pathetic worst experience ever at Total Wine. read more

I loved coming in here! I looked online what they had and wanted to see if they had what I looked for but they had so much more!! When you walk in and grab a cart you can go right to go into wine part of store or go left and go into liquor side. They are not connected! Didn't matter to us we dropped wine off in car went back to see liquor side.. lol..both sides have a huge selection! Things you don't see in the stores in the area. Also they have a rewards program I suggest looking into before you go.. may be able to do it online but when we checked out they asked if we were members of the program.. didn't seem like they set you up in store because I said no and nothing else was said. We have a store in a nearby town close so I'll prob try to sign up. Very cool place. We got samples of a vodka on liquor side and some wines on wine side.. the staff was very nice and helped us find what we wanted and gave us some suggestions that worked out great! read more

Wonderful selection of all products. The store was clean, well organized and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. There was on specific wine my friends and I were looking for after we did a tasting at a winery. Unfortunately, they did not have the specific one we asked about, but the employee was super knowledgeable and offered us a sample of a sinilar wine. The suggestions he made we delicious and led us to purchase a couple bottles. I would definitely recommend. Thankfully, the store is well-staffed with friendly and knowledgeable employees to assist you. Prices run the gamut, from bargain deals to special occasion purchases. In addition to wine, beer, and spirits, Total Wine carries a wide variety of accessories, mixers, and glasses. They seem to have it all covered, down to tastings and educational classes. Employees push the loyalty program hard, and it seems worth the fuss, no matter how often you frequent the business. The parking lot is large and seems more than adequate for the traffic. It's also just around the corner from Costco, and worth a stop simply to check out the wide inventory available. read more

I was really impressed with the wine selections at total wine. It was my first time there. Prices were pretty reasonable on many of the bottles of wine that I typcially buy. There are also some very high end priced wines. I got to sample 3 different wines. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and helped me to make some selections. There's lots to choose from in the liquor section and a wide variety prices and choices. The total wine has opened up the Wilmington North Carolina (no liquor), so I'll venture there soon. read more

If you are like me and enjoy checking a great variety of different liquors in one easy location, this is the place to go. The store is divided into separate sections. One is all liquors and the other is wine and beers. Both sides have pretty much, a little of everything. They have all the usual brands you expect to find. The fun part is finding the specialty and small batch distillations. Their prices are competitive as you cover the wide range up to the high end crystal decanters of a $5000 Mccallan. They also have a tasting booth where you can try the brand special of the day. There is a classroom area where they hold classes in a variety of alcohol related topics. All this and there is an entire other side of the store with wines and beers and all their specialties. If you are a cigar smoker, there is a walk in cigar humidor loaded floor to ceiling. We enjoy going to Total Wine when we visit Myrtle Beach. The store is divided into two sections - one for spirits and one for wines and beers. If you go frequently, you should join their loyalty program. If you are a veteran, you get double the loyalty points each time you shop. Today, we checked out the spirits side first. It is well laid out and easy to navigate. Then we went over to the wine side. Oh my, they have a lot of wine. We sampled some wine and made several purchases. We're from one of those "state run liquor store" states *coughNCcough* which really means that finding good and well priced booze freaking sucks. So while we were in town to become human prunes and to make fun of other tourists, we stopped in in to hit load up on some booze we can't get back home, and stumbled into a gold mine. The manager was extremely helpful to us, giving us recommendations and finding good value priced options to maximize our pocketbooks and minimize our trunk space. The prices were fantastic, we get 1.75's for the price of .750's at home, and the staff was super helpful packing our booze for the trip back home. Will definitely stop here again next time we're at the beach. read more

I went to this store this summer and was racially profiled in this establishment. As I went with a friend to get some alcohol so she could get some for her bday. We are both well over 21 but the crazy part is kids were still in the store but for some reason I was refused service AND I wasn't even the purchaser... we were harassed by the cashier and management, which then we left. I also went to this store multiple times before this incident and never had an issue with me and my boyfriend (who is white). I want to give a honest and transparent review so my people can be aware of the discrimination going on in this store. Stay blessed read more

Where have you BEEN all my life? This is like a Target of Booze. They have everything you could think of with beer and wine and spirits and everything you need to go with it. It can be overwhelming so luckily they also have plenty of staff on hand to help you out. The atmosphere is bright and the store is well labeled and organized. I could really spend all day there. I think the prices are decent and you can also sign up for their rewards club to earn coupons along with other promotions throughout the year. They also host various free and paid events to help educate you on different alcohols. I just love it here so much! read more

I really like to support local businesses (or at least local / regional chains), but after coming to Myrtle Beach for years as a visitor, I haven't been able to find a local liquor store with a wine, beer, and liquor selection that meets my needs all in one stop. Most places I've stopped while looking for wine get only slightly more involved than "red," "white," "pink," and "Boones," even when craft beers or the usual spirits can be found. Total Wine & More might be a near-nationwide chain, but in this case it allows for a wider selection than smaller independent stores seem to offer. And since I'm not from here and time is precious on vacation, that's pretty great. I don't doubt that if you are from the area and/or get to know a local shop, you can find more cost-effective options, especially if shops will special order in quantity, but as an annual and short-term visitor, the convenience is worth it. Their online ordering functions as "Order for Pickup" only for all alcohol (SC law prohibiting delivery, I assume), but even if you don't want to save time by ordering ahead, the website seemed to give pretty accurate information about what was in store. It was quick and easy to determine online that there were several bottles of wines that were perfect for the family meal I was planning, and they were there when I went in to make my final selections. The liquor section seemed more than adequate, as well. I didn't spend a lot of time in the beer area (saving that for next spring, I guess) and didn't spend any time at all with the cigar / smoking materials, so this review speaks to neither area. read more

If there were an option for 0 stars I would most definitely rate that. I felt like I was in a spy movie or something whilst walking through both sides of this store. Constantly being followed, I had my I.D checked 6 different times in one trip, and the managers were very smug. After I had already spent near $300 in the spirits side, I travelled to the wine/champagne side. During which the manager followed me over and spoke briefly to the manager on the wine side, while both parties were staring at me. During browsing the following continued and my mother who was with me even heard them on the walkie-radio device stating that I was headed to the checkout. This was my first and last trip to Total Wine. I am ashamed I spent money with this business and am appalled at their "customer service". I'd also like to add that I was the only person of color in the store at that time (as far as I saw) so the dots are there anyone can choose to connect them or not to. read more
