Learning about Italian wines from experts!
    Kay S.

Have you ever take a wine class at Total Wine? They are so fun! You get to try so many wines and learn about where they came from. And it's only $20! You get way more than $20 worth of wine to try during the class. PLUS, they pair it with as much cheese and crackers and fruit and deli meats as you like. My friends and I have been going to these for a few years. They are always a blast!!! To register for a class, go to the Total Wine website or download their app. Look for the location near you, scroll to the bottom of the landing page and you'll see a list of events! When you get to the class, fill up your plate with snacks and scan to QR code at the front of the room. Then you can follow along with the features wines to see the prices. After the class, buy the ones you liked to take home or don't buy anything at all. I just go for the fun experience!

I like this place because of the following: 1.) Same day delivery 2.) Outstanding selection of beer, wine, and liquor. 3.) Great prices 4.) Nice loyalty program 5.) coupons and savings all the time. Five great reasons, five great stars.

When I come by, the parking is easy and the staff informed and always helpful. They have an abundant wine and spirits selection, as well as craft beer, including our local favorites! They have a good frequent purchase program. Did I mention cigars? Yes indeed!!!

Terrible service made me and my friend feel like thieves ! We purchased liquor and after that we used the restroom but because me and my friend were in the same stall we were "suspicious". I couldn't even wipe my butt because Jason was banging the door ! In the middle of me returning the liquor Jason proceeds to tell us to get out ! Rude. Will never shop here again.

I could spend so many days in here... and so many $$$!! The selection is just beyond compare! You want wine... section after section to choose from. You want whisky... it is just about all here! Rum.. heck things I've never even heard of are here to choose from along with all your favorites. Beer... ohhhh lord the beer selection... most places I go it is hard to find one porter among all the IPA crap... but not here... dark beer is abound! Then there is the service... the people here are beyond helpful, knowledgeable, and helpful! They know their stuff and are glad to help. What a great combination. My only issue would be that once I start looking I just loose myself completely. I want to try sooooo many things... I want to see it all.... I just loose all track of time and money... lol! It is a place I can only come to every so often or I'll go broke! The prices are great. Best I have seen... I just want to get so many things to try... It is truly wonderful in here... what a way to spend a few hours...

Anyone can walk into a liquor store and buy a bottle of wine or spirits but only at Total Wine can one walk out with their adult beverages and full of knowledge. I am referring to their tutorial classes. I recently attended "New World. New Wines, exploring the Southern Hemisphere, Australia: Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz Argentina: Cruz Alta Malbec & Unáime Chardonnay Chile: Chateau Los Boldos Carménère & Cima Cabernet Sauvignon New Zealand: Palliser Estate Sauvignon Blanc South Africa: Neethlingshof Chenin Blanc Uruguay: Pisano Tannat. Brian, who is a new Associate at Total Wine, assisted by Joanne, gave an outstanding class. The lucky ones to ride home with me were, Chateau Los Boldos Carménère and Neethlingshof Chenin Blanc. Can't wait for next month's class to see who the lucky passengers will be.

    Glenmorangie Tasting

This is probably my fav location in ATX despite the issues with parking (sometimes) and the traffic nightmare that can sometimes plague the ever-popular Mueller area. That being said, I recently came here for a Glenmorangie scotch tasting course and it was abfab! Definitely got my money's worth in knowledge and product and they did a great job with a little tray of palate-cleansing nibbles and a dropper to cut the scotch! I can't wait to partake another class! I also love this location because they always seem to have free tastings of some really great spirits out on the main floor. I have come across some bourbons I have never even heard of recently (which is a feat for anyone who knows me) as well as some spirits I didn't even know they carried (sotol anyone?). The staff are nice, engaging, and always approachable! I also appreciate that they are knowledgeable, but when they don't know an answer, they don't BS you, they will actively help you find it. All in all, this place is the entire package when it comes to being a reasonably priced Booze-topia!

You walk in and immediately know you are not in some polished Instagram cocktail lounge. It is loud, a little gritty, and full of people who are clearly there to have a good time and not pretend otherwise. The beer is cold, the Lone Star flows like Texas water, and the vibe is pure old school Austin. And yes, the legendary bathroom situation deserves its own paragraph. The men's room features a giant ice filled trough for a urinal, which feels like something out of a 1970s roadside saloon documentary. Somehow it is both ridiculous and perfectly on brand. It actually becomes a conversation starter because you walk out laughing and immediately tell your friends they have to see it and go pee. The crowd was friendly, the bartenders were quick with the beers, and nobody was taking themselves too seriously. I ended up staying longer than planned, drinking Lone Stars and talking to random people like we had known each other for years. If you want craft cocktails served with a rosemary sprig this is not your place. If you want a hilarious, slightly chaotic, authentically divey night in Austin with cheap beer and great stories, Dirty Bill's absolutely delivers. Five stars and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Me and the wife went tonight for my birthday and I would absolutely recommend The Guest House! The ambiance is friendly, energetic and the service was impeccable. Our waitress and sommelier were genuine and extremely attentive but never overstayed their welcome. Cocktails were on par with downtown ATX but don't expect a heavy pour. Food is excellent and could easily contend with Odd Duck and Jeffrey's. This restaurant is modern, inventive and... different. A DJ in the restaurant creates a fun and "young" vibe for folks just starting to branch out into fine dining (IMO). Let it be known you can easily spend a fair amount but it's worth the visit. Here are my issues: The dress code is not enforced, seating arrangement isn't intimate, and it doesn't feel exclusive. I understand TGH is trying to put themselves on the map and I respect that. However, patrons can very easily drop $1K on dinner, and while the caliber of the staff matches the asking price, there appears to be no standard for the clientele as T-shirt wearers are accepted at the same level as black tie. Maybe that's just Austin and maybe that's acceptable for TGH. As the restaurant matures and further hones their craft, I would hope the standards increase. I've spent far less money for far better food and equivalent service while adhering to restaurant decorum. To TGH - Commanders Palace you are not. Keep up the good work but I expect a more intimate and professional dining experience for your asking price.
