Clean, spacious, plenty of selection, and some lovely low prices. It's a Total Wine that's perfectly fine. Stop in if you need something, but it isn't a place to go out of your way to take a visit. I've been here a couple of times and it us always a good stop. The cleaning is immaculate. It's bright without being stark and I don't think I've seen a single speck of dust. The staff are all consistently friendly and unobtrusive. I don't know if I've ever been helped by the same person though. You can take a couple of classes at Total Wine, but I have yet to try it out. Closest location to me but if your buying moet or Hennessy it will be locked up and you will be escorted up front. Makes you go hmmm... arboretum (10 miles away) has moet in the champagne aisle that you can just pick up and go. I realize this is East Austin but there are plenty of way more expensive items out in the open. I've purchased 80$ champagnes here that didn't require all this hassle. Good luck hunting down a manger that has the key too and the manager on duty she just seemed annoyed to have to open the cellar to get a $50 bottle. I'm really impressed with this total wine every time I go into the location. The wine selection at this store is very strong. Tequila selection is great as well. The Texas whiskeys total wine receives impress me too. The craft beer is above average and really like the seasonal selections. I will choose total wine over any other liquor store! They always have a wide selection of alcohol and wine. They always have the cheapest price, no need to price match! They even let you exchange Alcohol/wine if you don't like it. As long you don't drink more than a shot or two worth! The staff is very knowledgeable and recommends order drinks. I like Total Wine & More. They're serious about the "More" part of their name: they've got beer, they've got liquor, and they've got products related to them all. Total Wine Mueller offers a classroom where you can learn about their products. If there's no class in session, the room is available for community to use for free. They also host "Sip and Mingle" events. At the last "Sip and Mingle" I met a few neighbors and sampled a LOT of wines. Shout-out to Sarah and Jonathan for their hospitality! This is probably my fav location in ATX despite the issues with parking (sometimes) and the traffic nightmare that can sometimes plague the ever-popular Mueller area. That being said, I recently came here for a Glenmorangie scotch tasting course and it was abfab! Definitely got my money's worth in knowledge and product and they did a great job with a little tray of palate-cleansing nibbles and a dropper to cut the scotch! I can't wait to partake another class! I also love this location because they always seem to have free tastings of some really great spirits out on the main floor. I have come across some bourbons I have never even heard of recently (which is a feat for anyone who knows me) as well as some spirits I didn't even know they carried (sotol anyone?). The staff are nice, engaging, and always approachable! I also appreciate that they are knowledgeable, but when they don't know an answer, they don't BS you, they will actively help you find it. I really like this store. Good selections, especially of the hidden items. Super courteous staff. I finally made a visit as I was nearby for once and was impressed. I bought a few items, but on this visit I had just missed by a day or so, some items I really wanted. This can very easily become my favorite Total Wine. The only drawback for me is their location, and thus makes it a challenging drive, but that is not their fault. I will absolutely stop by every time in the area and I do recommend others do the same. Hello. First of all, I love your store....but, I had a member make a business purchase there in March with a check. The check was written for the wrong amount, the clerk wrote, "void" on the check and the member returned with a new check that was written correctly, for the correct amount and correct purchase. Both the checks for the correct purchase and the original "voided" check were processed. I called the store several times and was referred to Customer Service. Customer Service found the error and said we would be getting our money back. This was weeks ago. I called again, on 5/26/23, and got disconnected. I called a second time that same day and was told I would be receiving an email. I have still not heard back. My company is out over $300 and we consider this fraud and misuse of check cashing! I went to Total Wine to get a case of this good Cabernet that I had at a wedding. There were only four bottles on the shelf and I asked Rob if I could get a case of it. He said their system showed they had a case in stock and he looked up at the stack of boxes above the wine and didn't see it from the floor. Rob said it's probably up there but the vendors arrange all that for us so I don't know where it would be. Rob then proceeds to tell me what other wines I should try. I end up looking at some bourbons and went back to the wine section. A guy named Ted asked if he could help me. I told him I wanted a case of Emblem Cabernet, but there were only four on the shelf. Ted says let me get the ladder. Ted goes and gets the movable stairs and within 2-3 minutes he finds the case with the other 8 bottles and gives them to me. I have been a Total Wine & More fan since I had lived in Northern Virginia and now I get to enjoy it while in Austin. This Total Wine is the closest to my new house and I plan to come here to get my drinking supplies in the future. This location is large and has quite a big selection. I noticed they didn't have my favorite BBQ red wine from Salt Lick but I know I can always have them order it. I love this Total Wine! While I'd prefer to shop local if I could, Total Wine just kicks everyone else's ass on price and selection. I'm regularly in here buying Laphroaig 10 for under $40 while the local chain liquor store is closer to $45, and I've seen as high as $80 at indies. Tons of choices if I'm in a non-Laphroaig mood (which is rare). They don't carry LaChouffe beer, but it seems like it's an Austin-wide problem and the guy working at Total Wine did his best to investigate why they can't get it. The only thing that would make this Total Wine better was if they stayed open later or were closer to my house! read more

I like this place and have written as much before. But I love it when people are cool, and I like to give credit where it is due. Anthony was a huge help enabling my newfound interest in flavored rum creams. A weird choice for sure, as well as unfortunate, because they're delicious and almost certainly bad for me in all imaginable ways. Luckily they only had two of the mango ones I like. One of the employees was very friendly but it wasn't until I got to the check out line with my little sister (I am her guardian due to an unfortunate accident our parents were in) when I got to the check out line they asked for an ID for everyone. She's 15... why would she have her ID on her. They didnt even let me explain why she was with me, they just kept saying "we can't sell to you & we close in 10 minutes" I literally watched a woman with a child purchase something before me. I suggest you all put a more clear sign that says "if you're with a minor we will not sell to you" I wasted my time driving down to this store to just be turned away. I was there interpreting for my visiting father-in-law, who doesn't speak English. Me, I don't drink so I was unfamiliar with the products. Dad wanted Tennessee whiskey, and I found one brand, so I asked a gray-haired clerk (GHC) if this was the only Tennessee whiskey they carried? He replied that it's the only *flavored* Tennessee whiskey they have. I said, "Oh, I thought Tennessee referred to the flavor." He replied, and I'm not kidding, "No, Tennessee is one of the states in the United States." What an absolute dick. Incidentally, a different clerk was helping a customer, explained something to him, then GHC who wasn't part of the conversation overheard and interjected some unimportant pedantic exception to what the first clerk had explained.
