I received Lasik surgery about three years ago and approximately 6 months post surgery my vision became blurry. Long story short after spending about 2 1/2 years visiting different doctors, Dr. Griffin was able to diagnose my symptoms as dry eye and has prescribed two different eye drops (only on one now after 3 weeks) and although progress with this is measured in weeks or months and not days, I already see and feel an improvement in my eyes. Thank you do Dr. Griffin for allowing me to feel good once again about my decision to get Lasik and for the opportunity to enjoy the value of this procedure. read more

I cannot 'see' going anywhere else! If you are in need of eye care in the SC area, 'look' no further. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Patrick is thorough and spends a great deal of time explaining your current vision and any and all options available. read more

I have been going to Griffin Op for two years now and take my teenage daughter as well. Jim first gives awesome care to your preliminary-tests; he even makes the pressure "puff" test a breeze! Dr Patrick gives wonderful care and personal attention to my daughter and me. We have even gone to the Del Mar location both times to pick out frames for her to make sure we had the widest selection available. I love the Maui Jim sunglasses for me... The care by all the ladies for billing and fitting are great! read more

This team is amazing. When you first walk in, the lovely ladies at the front greet you and take care of you right away. Jim (doctor's assistant) was so much fun to have help me, prior to me meeting with Dr. Patrick Griffin. Jim asked a lot of important questions. Dr. Patrick Griffin is a very nice doc!! He was also fun to talk to and he actually gave me some wonderful solutions to my eye problems. I hadn't been to an eye doc in over ten years and coming to this office makes me want to ensure I come back for every upcoming check up. The hours are great! Wonderful place! read more

Very pleased with this office. Ask for Dr. Patrick Griffin. If you need to pick out frames, etc. ask for Christine. Great eye doctor! Great experience! read more

I had a great experience at Griffin Optometric Group. From the convenient appointment openings on Saturdays to the helpful and courteous staff, my experience was seamless. All employees I came into contact with were extremely helpful and happy and made sure they were providing full attention and care. Would definitely recommend this office and staff to anyone looking for a quality practice. read more

The doctor and the entire staff was friendly, helpful and thorough. This was my first time here and I couldn't be more pleased.

Dr. Patrick and Jim are great. Dr. Patrick is so friendly and calm and explains everything he clearly. Jim is great and makes the appointment fun. I appreciate that he gets so much of the preliminary eye exam portion out of the way so Dr. Patrick has time to spend with the patient. I've never had a problem getting an appointment and they are pretty accommodating. my only complaint is the cost of their glasses. They don't have much (any) of a selection of lower priced frames. The cheapest ones we could find were $300, so it cost me over $600 for exam and glasses for my teen. The eye staff is so wonderful I will keep going there for exams and updating my prescritpions (and for contacts), but I have found somewhere else to purchase glasses that is much more reasonable read more

I tore my contact in half and was only able to get half of it out, the next day I called the office and they had me come in right away. They were able to pop my contact out in seconds and gave me some drops for the broken blood vessels. They were kind and speedy through the whole process. Thank you! read more

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Patrick's for the past 11 years. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Patrick, his office and staff. Not only are they extremely professional, but they are also very kind, respectful and helpful. Along with Dr. Patrick, Jim and Helen are particularly wonderful. Jim is incredibly sweet and passionate about what he does and always asks about the family. Helen is always helpful and sweet and goes above and beyond in assisting patients with their payments, insurance and scheduling. If you are looking for an optometrist, I highly, highly recommend Dr. Patrick and his wonderful office. read more

Recently went for vision check-up. Have been wearing glasses all my life. Was encouraged to purchase all the "NEW" offerings out today. Fundus Photography ,enhanced fit polycarbonate PR,Advance UV treatment to lenses, The list goes on. Pick up my new glasses and can't read small print anymore. Wavey effect seen when you turned your head. Constant readjusting to read simple print to find spot where I could read. I voiced my concerns to lady who was helping me and she told me lenses are perfect, I should "PRACTICE" with them .20 minutes on , 20 minutes off, for up to 10 days. I've never had to Practice seeing! After 3 nauseating days I went back to see Randy Griffin, who said he was going to "TWEEK" them for me. I declined. I travel for work frequently and need to see .Can't PRACTICE anymore. Ineed my old prescription which an "old style progressive" as Dr. Griffin called it. It was't that I didn't just not LIKE new lenses, it was I could't see with new lenses. What needs to be made known and should have been made know to me before I was sold alot of "NEW" stuff, was YOU NEED TO PRACTICE SEEING you just can't put these new lens on , and go live your life. So... anyone who is entertaining purchase of New Progressive type lenses,be aware of Practice time, PLEASE ask about this. They cost me $631.00, not inexpensive. The difference in price between my old lenses $310..00, and new style $631.00 is alot. I was told ,after a number of phone calls that I would not be receiving a credit of any kind. I was paid in full. I finally was able to speak with Randy Griffin again, and he reiterated they don't give credit. I was finally told a credit of $97.00 would be given,THANKS! I went to them because this is their area of expertise, not mine. In addition, I had called 3 TOP optical shops in N.Y.C. for a price on what my old lenses would cost today and was told $310.00. Was giving benefit of doubt to Griffin Optical by calling N.Y. opticians, because N.Y. Is one of the 2 most expensive places to live , work, purchase things, just to be clear. It's not that Griffin is not a Good place for an exam, they are, it's all the small things that are of issue! read more

The worst experience I have has when it comes to eye care. My vision is worse than before. The people were extremely rude and just a horrible experience overall. read more

When I tried to schedule an appointment for the next day, the front office filled the only time slot, as they took my information. Instead of giving me the time slot they offered to schedule for a few weeks in the future. Awful customer service. read more

I am new to the area and found this place on Yelp. Good experience. Nice office. Staff was very friendly. Will recommend to family. Technician, Jim I think is his name, is a funny guy. read more

My very first visit here was nothing short of perfect. Customer service was top notch, the testing done before I met the eye doc was more thorough than I had had before at my old place. Dr. Griffin was very, VERY excited to help me with my dilemma of being very farsighted in one eye and very nearsighted in the other. I work in a medical setting and need to switch my gaze frequently. Contacts in the past have been very uncomfortable while glasses had to come off and on. Nobody before this had suggested progressive lenses. I spent more than I had hoped to but I couldn't be happier with the results! The frames I got are so beautiful, the fit was done very carefully and they are super comfortable. While I was told I would need a few weeks to adjust to the progressive lenses I actually was perfectly comfortable within just a few days. The front office staff is friendly and helpful and really know their business, too! I would recommend this office to everyone in the San Clemente area and then some! read more

As a physician, I watch closely for not only the expertise of the clinician but the expertise, politeness and friendliness of the staff. In the end though, the attitude is set from the top, so one can see why these docs are tops in their field. I have had the good fortune to have Dr. Patrick over the last few visits. With Dr. Patrick, I have found that special combination of expertise, compassion and genuine interest in his patients. If you're looking for your first optometrist or changing optometrists, Griffin is an excellent choice. read more

You can not do better than going to Griffin Optometric Group. I am lucky enough to see Dr. Patrick Griffin, but the whole office environment and staff are great. It is a comfortable and comforting experience. Everything is explained thoroughly, anything you need is taken care of. If you order glasses, they will work with you to get exactly what accommodates your taste as well as your vision needs. I wear glasses with the dividing lines and on occasion after they are all made up, I find something I need changed. No problem, no hassle. read more

I appreciate not having to wait when I make an appointment. This office does everything it can to be friendly and on time. My encounter with Jim, the technician was a kick. My family has been seeing Dr. Patrick for many years and have always had excellent care and service by everyone in the office. We have never felt pressured to purchase what we don't need and Dr. Patrick and his staff give us honest answers or suggestions. When we have purchased glasses and or contacts, items are accurate and arrive on time. We appreciate their customer service, it is what makes a difference between a good business and a great business. read more

Please do not bring your family here. VERY dishonest. We usually see Dr. Patrick and have had no issues at all with him - he was always wonderful, as is Jim. But on our last visit we saw Dr. Demoss and I am SHOCKED by the level of dishonesty we experienced with her. She looked me in the eye and told me one thing and then when we left she told her staff to do the complete opposite. When I found out what she had done, NOTHING was done to remedy it. An absolute lack of integrity and customer service. When I make a mistake, I bend over backwards trying to make it right. Not so with this office. I was met with a complete lack of understanding or compassion. I will NEVER allow my family to be subjected to this office again and I very much hope you think twice before allowing them to have anything to do with your eye care. A relationship with healthcare providers is built on trust and HONESTY - if that's what you are looking for, you won't find it here. read more

Dr. Patrick and his staff are first rate! They go out of their way to handle all your eyecare needs.

Dr. Patrick Griffin and staff are great. I was promptly seen by my doctor- who as always, was thorough and went through the time to discuss options with me. The back office optometrist was extremely friendly and helpful. Last, the front office staff spent a large amount of time helping me pick out the perfect frames for my new glasses. Overall- a positive experience. I've been going to Dr. Griffin for years and am always pleased with the service. read more

After seeing the same eye doctor my whole life (since 2nd grade) he retired. I found Griffin OG as it was close to home and made an appointment. I cannot speak highly enough of their practice. I've seen Dr. Lucy (can't remember her last name) and Dr. Griffin. They are the upmost of kind and professional and truly care about correcting your vision properly and your comfort. The office staff is amazingly kind! It's almost surreal, they are caring and understanding. I had to bring my 9 month old with to an appointment and they were so sweet to him when he tried to escape during my exam. A previous reviewer mentioned the eyeglass pricing; they carry really nice high end glasses/sunglasses, I think that's just par for the course for the area the office is in. But if that's not the kind of eyewear you're looking for you definitely don't have to buy it, they are not high pressure at all. I get contacts and the pricing on those was on par with anywhere. I highly recommend this practice and have found my next long term eye doctor. read more

I have been going to Dr. Griffin since 2000. They have the most fantastic and friendly staff, nice office, plenty of glasses choices and very pleasant, professional and friendly service. Dr. Griffin is truly the best optometrist I have ever been to and that's saying a lot since I've worn glasses since I was 8. I wouldn't think of trusting anyone else with my vision. read more
