My boyfriend and I came in for a couples massage for 60 mins for ONLY $120 (excluding tip). Total Relax is the best kept secret in Rosedale. It's calming, the ambience dark, and there is relaxing music that plays during your massage. Lydia and Carrie were our masseuses and at first, I found it strange that they massage by hopping onto the same table as you. I had asked for a hard pressure massage, and they delivered! I had trigger points that heavily needed to be worked on. I thought I was going to pass out with how much pain I had. If you are not used to this firmness, I would highly not suggest. If you are, YOU NEED THIS. I have an office job that often makes me not have the best posture and my shoulders tend to hike up, which creates knots. The girls got rid of them for both of us. I have been here several times with a varied experience. I often found myself here because it was the closest and most convenient. But I think I need to scratch it off my list. My last visit the therapist spent almost 40 mins of the 60 mins walking on my back. IMO, this is a therapist's dirty little secret - the longer they can walk on your back, the less effort they really need to exert. It literally takes no effort or energy to just use your body weight and stand on someone's back. I don't mind 5-10 mins of it to loosen things up but beyond that it is just a therapist being lazy and this time it was ridiculous how long she kept going at, just doing the same steps over and over. Then the remainder of the massage was very mediocre so I'm out. read more

Place was ok. I had Ivy at the Round Rock location. I got a 90 min massage with the expectation of getting my lower back worked on (a recent car wreck left it tight and sore). Massage started ok but I feel like she got tired half way through. After telling her a few different times that I really needed lower back work done, she paid no special attention to it at all. I was confused and disappointed. So finally I spoke up and asked again. She then proceeded to tell me that she couldn't work on it any more? Ok. Environment is decent. Not the worst but definitely not the best. I paid $80 for almost a 90 min massage. She skimped out on the the first 10min and the last 5.. So really it was a 75 min massage. I could have went to Brookstone and got a free massage in a chair and it would have been about as good as this. I won't be going back and I won't be recommending this place to anyone. read more

I went here for the first time last evening (10-3-14). I walked in and was greeted within a minute of walking through the door. I was led to the back and given a private, dimly lit room with ethereal music flowing. The massage therapist was friendly, and soft spoken. Throughout the duration of the massage, she did not try to chit chat with me, just massaged my body. She adjusted her pressure in tune with my sounds. haha I told her that I carried most of my stress in my shoulders, and lower back, so she focused mainly on those regions. After the massage, she took a hot, wet towel and rubbed it over my body. That was nice. :) From start to finish, I never felt uncomfortable, or rushed, or as if I were an inconvenience to someone there, like I did when I went to a chain massage parlor. The staff was professional, sweet, and had a calming quality to their movements, tones, and speech patterns. I will definitely go back, and recommend this parlor to my friends and family. I am already trying to get my husband to go and have a massage with them. The reason for 4 stars is that they are a little pricy compared to places like massage envy, and chains, but I would say totally worth the extra $15-20 bucks. I walked out feeling 17 years old again! I slept like a rock for the first time in months without having to use pain killers or muscle relaxers for my back. Thank you! read more

Total Relax is a great massage venue. I've been coming here 2-3 times a month ever since it opened and I'm always completely rejuvenated after each one of my sessions. The staff is thoroughly trained in the Chinese art of massage, which, according to your specific needs, can be both deep tissue yet always extremely relaxing. The name of the place says it all. I should also like to point out the design of the place is very sophisticated and adds to the the relaxing ambiance of the place. I used to go to regularly to get a massage as my only splurge bc I have regularly occuring upper back pain. They always managed to help relieve some of the tension, but the staff has changed and I had the worst massage of my life there last time. No matter how many times I told the therapist the areas I needed her to work on, she ignored me. I literally said, "please stop rubbing there and rub my shoulders. Time is almost up and again, that is what I came in for help with." I had already told her where I hurt several times. Still nothing. The rest of the time she seemed to just use her forearms and hardly applied any pressure. She disappeared atleast four times during the massage, twice for hot towels and the other two I am unsure of. Each time she was gone for 5+ minutes. I was in severe pain when I got there and left the same way, but $100 poorer. She was a Caucasian lady in her 30's... I wish I remembered her name so you could avoid her too. I have no idea where to go for affordable pain relief now. :( read more

I found this place last minute when driving in the area. I walked in and asked for an hour foot massage. I had my own private room with a very comfortable table. The therapist asked what pressure I wanted, which I appreciated. I told her not to be afraid to use deep pressure. She massaged all the tendons and ligaments that usually get ignored during a foot massage. It was uncomfortable at times but immediately afterword I felt a release and my plantar fasciitis has not bothered me since. Love this place. Will definitely return. read more

HORRIBLE MASSAGE. The therapist left the room 7 TIMES during my massage without warning or explanation for extended periods of time. I ended up getting about 45 minutes of the 60 minute massage I expected. I tweaked my shoulder/back this past weekend so Monday around 4PM I decided to look for a massage rather than trying to go to the gym. I was looking for somewhere on my way home and luckily I found Total Relax on Yelp. I can't tell you how many massages I've had throughout the years (let's say 16 years), and how so many of the "deep tissue" were such a let down. Granted I like really deep pressure and can take the pain, but this was the first time I was actually blown away by the massage. Cissy was great and I feel so much better today. She listened when I explained where my issue was and wanted the majority of the massage on my back. Also, Cissy was so in tune that she could feel all the other sore spots to take care of them rather than me pointing them out. She also did some stretches, hot stones, and hot towels that felt soooo good. The ambiance was perfect and everything was super clean. I'm so happy I found Total Relax!
