He ordered an X-ray, which came back with no clear findings. But instead of digging deeper or ordering an MRI, he did nothing else. He sent her off with some pain meds and nothing more. Over 20 years later and she's still living with back pain, wondering how things might have gone differently if her concerns had been taken seriously. Another time, she went in complaining that something felt off in her ear--like a growth in the canal. According to her, he barely looked. No further tests, no real follow-up. Later, a different doctor diagnosed her with a perforated eardrum. She also told me about my mother-in-law who was seeing this doctor. She had a skin condition that was later confirmed as skin cancer which this doctor allegedly missed during earlier visits. These are my wife's experiences and memories, and I'm not claiming to know all the details. But from her perspective, the care she and her family received felt rushed, dismissive, and careless. Patients deserve to be taken seriously, especially when they're young and vulnerable. She left his office feeling unheard and she's still living with the consequences. Shame on you.

So really they are only open 5 hours a day and close at 5pm. Which is not only unorganized but inconsiderate of others as well (take your lunches one at a time like any other customer service location). They are incredibly rude expect Jessica, she's great, but she isn't running the practice as a whole. Dr. Gilcrease himself has told me to my face that my needs arent important to him. They want to get you in and out without discussing the probelm as a whole. So incredibly hard to get what you need from them. So glad I don't need a medication for anything life threatening, I would die with their care. Sometimes it's weeks before they can even talk to you about when you can get your medication. Jessica is great, love how she recommends natural products as well I as prescriptions. However, I'm not sure how this practice is still open though, or still uncareingly opperates like this without any regard for others.

His old staff was super nice, but his front desk girls are horribly mannered. My appointments always get cancelled. They never answer the phone or remember to turn on answering service. Incredible doc...Excellent!!…read more Having worked as a Senior Physician Recruiter for many years, my requirements for a physician come from a trained background of what to look for and what to be wary of. I know how to check a background, I know what a thorough exam and appointment is, and I know what rushing a patient through in order to see more patients a day for money means to the patient. Additionally, I can recognize better equipment and practices. I had a great doctor in Dallas (Dr. Bonnet) and I could not find a satisfactory one after moving to Austin that met my scrupulous checks & desire for excellence. At other offices I was rushed through appointments, kept waiting endlessly due to overbooking, or not questioned well during the appointment or answered thoroughly...or not called back when I had a question or needed something or had to get a refill, etc... Dr. Browining is unique & wonderful!! And I thank the above posters who allowed me to finally find him! You are not only never kept waiting for much time at all, he is amazingly smart in discussions, he is so thorough in questions and answers that you feel you are his only patient... He has state-of-the-art equipment. He is caring, thorough, and beyond impressive. I've already recommended him and immediately gotten the response back that he was an incredible doctor who spends a great deal of time to ensure you are cared for. He will not schedule unecessary procedures or cram patients in as so many doctors do when a monetary business becomes a goal over care...yet, like today when I needed an ultrasound, (which is what made me think to write this), he ensures I immediately get the care needed. Care is evident in this office...but that means very little if the physician isn't a brilliant doctor...and I've been beyond impressed in that regard as well. He obviously is one of those doctors with a passion for what he does and for what's current in medical journals. I joined Yelp for one reason alone...I thought I'd be remiss in not giving credit where credit is due. I looked for 3 years for a doctor I liked in Austin. I used to have to drive to Dallas to go to my old doctor because no one else's practice ever measured up. I am, therefore, beyond happy to recommend him to anyone needing an excellent physician in Austin. You'll see a difference in what is the norm and what happens here during your very first vist, without a doubt. -Alana

He immediately addressed the issue in his office rather than referring me to a dermatologist to do the dirty work. I truly did need immediate attention and he gave it to me. I can't speak highly enough of him and his assistant for bravely going where no one should have to go. I hope this does not sound like an exaggeration, but I feel like I owe my life to him. It has only been a day, and I'm still a mess, but I have to express my gratitude to this incredible doctor. I also want to publicly apologize for cursing as he cut into it. I hope your medical emergency gets taken care of by Dr. Browning, or someone as talented and compassionate as he is.

The most basic of all of your healthcare decisions is who you want your provider to be. I've been a…read morepatient here for about 5 years and have had a couple of different doctors during that period. Unfortunately, both have left Seton, with the most recent one just having departed on 1/1/19. Seton notified me in a letter dated 11/27/18. Here are pertinent points from that letter: "* If you currently have an appointment scheduled after December 31st with Dr. XXXX, one of our staff will contact you to reschedule with another Seton physician, and ensure the smooth transition of your care. * We are also pleased to announce that XXXX XXXX XXXX, MD, Family Medicine will be relocating to Seton Family of Doctors at Hays and accepting new patients beginning January 14, 2019. * Alternatively, please feel free to contact us, (512) 504-0855, if you have any questions, would like to obtain a copy of your patient record, or choose to arrange transfer of your records to another physician." I didn't have an appointment scheduled but needed one so I called. I told them who I would like to see at the practice and they told me "no." They assured me that the letter clearly explained that I had to see the new doctor at the practice. I told them that them letter said nothing of the sort. Never mind the fact that I was due for a follow up before the new MD was seeing patients. I guess they figured a couple of weeks wasn't a matter of life and death. They were insistent. They were complete a--holes. And they still are. If you want any say in your care, go elsewhere. The one thing you will not find here is caring about what you want.

She is fantastic and we're glad to have her as our Primary Care Physician. She is the definition of what a Primary Care doctor should be. She familiarizes herself with your whole medical history and determines if you need to be examined further by a specialist. Then I found Dr. Wenzel... probably the very best Endocrinologist I've ever met. I left my last Diabetes doctor because I only saw the actual doctor twice in the year-1/2 I went there. Dr. Wenzel was very thorough, spent a good amount of time with me, and was kind enough to phone me (on a Saturday morning) to deliver the results of my lab work. Unbelievable! Needless to say. He's the ONLY endocrinologist I ever want to see. It's not just the wonderful Doctors at Seton, but also the Staff. From Reception to Nurses and PAs, you feel welcomed and cared for every visit. They also have their own Lab on site and it sure beats going to one of those places where you wait for a long time just to give a little blood. The Phlebotomist is the best I've ever seen. Never a bruise or sting. Smooth as glass. Seton also has the very best Patient Portal I've ever seen. It's easy to get a message to or from the Doctors, manage appointments, pay bills, and view test results. I just love this Medical Team and am happy to live close enough to use them exclusively.
