The day I arrived I had an idea of what I wanted but it wasn't set in stone just yet. I wanted lettering done in the old looking typewriter format. I searched their books to find the one that was closest to the format. I found ideally what I wanted and even though I was a walk in, I was in the waiting room within minutes. The size of my tattoo was small, so they were able to fit me in. I appreciate that. The waiting room is a bit confusing right now. They are in the middle of updating it to make it look less like a waiting room. While you wait you can do the usual and read a magazine or play around on your phone. Or if you like, walk around their taxidermy room. Yes, that's right, they have a taxidermy room. How awkwardly cool is that? The skulls are pretty awesome, especially the ones that have designs painted on them. Talk about different and one of a kind, this truly is an example of that. Once back in the chair things went rather smoothly. My anxiety was put at ease at how fast and efficient they work. Everything was done in what seemed like mere minutes to me. This being my eighth tattoo and by far the least complicated and smallest in size. I was very pleased to say the least. My only complaint is the fact that they require a deposit but yet won't draw up your tattoo ahead of time especially if it's a smaller tattoo. They also aren't as good at customer service as one would hope for in something so permanently placed on ones body. I got arrogant and snippy responses from their one tattoo artist because I got nervous of the fact that they were asking for my tattoo information again the day of my appointment because the papers that had my tattoo info on it was thrown away by an apprentice. I'm a very understanding person but tattoos should be drawn up ahead of time so if edits need to be made, they can be done before the appointment. On that note, If you can get past the rough exterior of their customer service, it's the place to go for brilliant tattoo artistry.

My son recently graduated from Parris Island M.C.R.D. He had mentioned getting a tattoo when he…read moregraduated so his sister wanted to surprise him with an appointment at Rising Phoenix Tattoo. However, when he got home he informed her he was ordered not to get a tattoo as it would not have time to properly heal before he began combat training in seven days. When he called to cancel the appointment and tell them he would return when his training was complete the man cursed him and hung up the phone before he could finish speaking. I have tattoos. My daughter has tattoos as do half the people in our family as well as many of our friends. I will be sure to tell them of this reprehensible, unprofessional behavior, and recommend another tattoo shop.
