The day I arrived I had an idea of what I wanted but it wasn't set in stone just yet. I wanted lettering done in the old looking typewriter format. I searched their books to find the one that was closest to the format. I found ideally what I wanted and even though I was a walk in, I was in the waiting room within minutes. The size of my tattoo was small, so they were able to fit me in. I appreciate that. The waiting room is a bit confusing right now. They are in the middle of updating it to make it look less like a waiting room. While you wait you can do the usual and read a magazine or play around on your phone. Or if you like, walk around their taxidermy room. Yes, that's right, they have a taxidermy room. How awkwardly cool is that? The skulls are pretty awesome, especially the ones that have designs painted on them. Talk about different and one of a kind, this truly is an example of that. Once back in the chair things went rather smoothly. My anxiety was put at ease at how fast and efficient they work. Everything was done in what seemed like mere minutes to me. This being my eighth tattoo and by far the least complicated and smallest in size. I was very pleased to say the least. On my way out I stopped and looked at the jewelry they had for piercing and ended up picking up a hemp oil based balm to help with my tattoo. **For better clarification of what they can and cannot do, check out their website.**

Prior to the pandemic I had decided I wanted to get boxing gloves on my shoulder. Having not gotten a tattoo in two decades and having sworn I would never again, I just like that changed my mind. She had come to this location twice to get a couple tattoos of her own over the past couple years and thought it would make a great birthday gift to come together for an appointment. It turned out to be on of the best gifts. The shop is in a strip mall. The waiting area leave little to be desired. My BFF made our appointments on a Saturday at 4pm. She said the artist though very nice and does good work has a tendency to run late. When she said late I never really imagined what was in store for us. The shop closes at 6 on Saturday's and we were still in the waiting room "waiting" for our appointment to begin. About 2ish hours in she said we could come back. I was a ball of nerves. The last time I got a tattoo I fainted, twice. The first time I got a tattoo I also fainted, twice. Both times I had to be brought back with smelling salts. I don't recommend. She heard that and took great care to get some gummy bears in me, have cold water available, a fan pointed at me and had me lay down as opposed to seated as with my other experiences. It worked. Still hurt like heck but I did not faint. In the end after being there for basically a whole day, I was pleased with the artist Aime, the results of the tattoo and the price was fair. I wasn't really happy with how long it took to get us back there and to complete the process, but that is about the only bad thing I can say. Since the first time I have been back to see Aime 2x's, for two more tattoos after swearing them off for 20 years. Funny thing is I'm a little obsessed now... But the waiting is not a fluke. Clear your calendar and pack a lunch. You WILL be here all day. Otherwise very much recommend

As a woman I've been wanting them done for years but I really wanted another woman to do this piercing. I'm so glad that I held out! Jessie was friendly but professional and seriously did an incredible job! In such a short time they honestly look like they are already healed. I've been following her instructions (I wish I could put this in bold seriously please listen to your piercers/tat artists about after care). The first two days they were pretty tender but surprisingly not as bad as I was expecting. Now, they honestly look like they are already healed and I barely have any soreness. I'm already starting to forget they are even there! I really dig the look and vibe of the whole studio. It looks awesome and is very clean. LOVE that you can make appointments online. I had zero issues.d Jessie is for sure my go to piercer now! Also, thanks to Jessie and after seeing the place in person I'm definitely going to stalk the tattoo artists schedules and try to get some ink in the future.

This review really only reflects basic piercings since that's all I got done BUT I chose King Cobra…read moreover other local spots because they had the best reviews for everything overall! My experience with piercing shops/tattoo parlors is limited exclusively to Claire's as a child, so I wasn't sure what to expect and have always been a little intimated by those places because I'm not what I'd consider "cool" (lol). I had my original lobe piercings done at claire's and have always had issues with those piercings and decided if I ever wanted more, I'd go somewhere more professional. Hence the search for a place in State College... I suspected a lot of places would overcharge because it's a college town so I did a lot of googling, reading reviews, and asking friends for suggestions either way. I have a few friends who've gone to the other shop in town for piercings and were happy with it, but when I looked at some of the reviews I was more hesitant. I'm a weenie about this stuff and really wanted to get my lobes pierced again (new spot) and prefer not having weird issues with prices not being disclosed up front and uncomfortable/unwelcoming vibes. I ultimately decided on King Cobra because of the reviews, but when I stopped in today just to get a feel for their vibes and ask about pricing, they were super nice and answered all my questions about the cost and pain. Even though it was mostly an exploratory visit for info, they offered to fit me in then and there so I just went for it! I paid $60 total for the two lobes, jewelry cost included. I've been wanting these second piercings for a while and since it's spring break, I figured I may as well treat myself. Jake was very friendly, clean/hygienic and everything you'd hope from someone doing piercings. The actual piercing was much better than I thought it would be, very little pain and didn't take long at all. He explained the aftercare and also gave a printout of the directions. I am very very happy with the piercings and will probably go back to get the third lobe piercing once these have healed a little bit (and I can save up lol).
