What a difference this camp has made in our sons's life. Jennell has the patience of a saint and has a unique method where she's able to have my son understand how to make & form letters. She begins the lesson by doing a fun obstacle course and then starts the handwriting lesson. She also does a bit of reading comprehension as part of the lesson - when really it's to practice more handwriting. My son has some intrinsic muscle immaturity and she was able to develop a grip for him. We are doing another camp this coming month and can't wait to see even more improvement. Can't recommend Jennell enough!! My son is in Kindergarten and his TK and Kinder teachers noticed that he was having a challenging time with fine motor skills. He wasn't going to qualify for services but he DEF needed some help. My friend suggested T.OT Camp and I am so happy she did. Highly recommended!!!! I am currently bringing both my kids (7 yo and 9 yo) to Ms. Jennell for help with their handwritings and after only TWO sessions, I already see a huge difference, especially in my older child!!! Ms. Jennell is great with kids, she's kind and friendly but firm so the kids don't get all crazy in class. I was surprised to see that besides working on handwriting, she also works with kids on reading articles and teach them on how and what to highlight in the passage so that information can be reviewed in an efficient manner. It's a wonderful skill for kids to have and I was pleasantly surprised that they're learning that with her. Ms. Jennell is also very respectful and asks for parents permissions before class to ensure that the kids can read articles on certain topics, I really appreciate her thoughtfulness. In addition, she not only teaches handwriting but she assesses each child individually and recommends tools (if needed) for the child to use based on their individual needs. My 5 year old is part of the summer camp and has been enjoying each week. Last week they learned about sharks and this week they've been talking about dinosaurs (as a parent, I've been learning too!) Ms. Jennell's daily updates with pictures taken from their day, and "dinner inspired conversations" have been my favorite to view. My daughter has been so proud of the work she's been bringing home. Through her journal writing, I've been so impressed to see her improvements. I cannot say enough wonderful things about TOT Fine Motor Camp. My 4 year old truly looks forward to attending her "asteroid" group every week, to him he gets to spend a hour playing every Saturday morning. Her office is warm, inviting and so clean! She sets up the class so my son thinks he is playing but he is really working on motor planning and handwriting. The highlight of his session is always the art project and of course he enjoys earning stars to go to a treasure chest! This camp has been great for my 10 year old son. He has been struggling with his penmanship. He is left handed and I've struggled in trying to help him. Jenelle has been great! As an OT she has shown me why he has been struggling and has given us techniques to help. Even his 4th grade teacher has commented on his improvement. Also she has been teaching him paragraph writing as well as grammar. My son loves going to camp every Friday and is it is never a push to get him to go.
