Hokkien Hokkien Bundle

After I was introduced to this restaurant, there was no going back. This place has such amazing and delicious dishes. I was here all the time in college, and I try to go back whenever I can. I genuinely dream about this place. My go to meal is the hokkien noodles with the Thai flavor and chicken. It's also a very good bang for your buck. If I get this meal, I'm eating for the rest of the day. The service is always super quick! Sometimes, there might be a line, but they do a very good job at getting the food out quickly. It is a smaller restaurant ao seating can be limited ơn busier days, but that's bc it's so good, everyone's trying to go. I don't blame them.

Toss was one of my all time favorite Berkeley restaurants while I was at school there, and I recently visited and had to make a stop at Toss. The noodles here are always absolutely delicious and packed with veggies and protein. My favorite order is the flat rice noodles with Japanese sauce and beef. The staff here are so so sweet, and everything about this restaurant is nostalgic and cozy.

it was my first time trying toss, and it was pretty good! the line was short, and service was very quick too. i ordered the hokkien noodle, with malay sauce, and chicken. the noodles were perfectly chewy and they added the perfect amount of sauce. the only thing i wish i could add more of was veggies! they had plenty of seating inside, and the space was clean too! great spot for dinner & a huge portion good enough for 2 meals!

I love this place , and what's better than noodles. I got the garlic noodle combo and vegetables potstickers. The bowl of noodles were so large, I'm glad that I only ordered one and shared it with my daughter. We also had the Thai tea in a pouch It was OK. The restaurant is super cute clean and the staff was nice patient and helpful. My teenage daughter also loved this place aesthetics and food. She said that she will be back with her and her friends.

Ever since this opened up during my undergrad days, I can't believe I never left a review for Toss Noodle Bar! Especially since I'm someone who loves noods! I really like their option to build your own bowl. Step 1: Choose your base You can choose noodles (they have a whole list of options! I'm partial to spinach and Hokkien noodles), or steamed or fried rice (white or brown, with brown costing more). Step 2: Add your flavor Choose between wok-toss, soup, or curry Step 3: Pick your protein Options include tofu, chicken, beef, pork, prawn, combo There's also options for chef's special, quick bites, or chicken satay or BBQ pork on skewers. Glad to see that of all the establishments that have come and gone in Berkeley over the years, Toss is still around.

I've been coming to Toss Noodle Bar since 2021, and I'm glad the food quality has stayed consistent every time. My go to is the garlic noodle with hoikken noodles and shrimp, which also comes with bean sprouts, always flavorful and satisfying!! For drinks, the Thai tea is my favorite, their matcha looks like a newer addition and definitely worth trying. They use paper straws, which is eco friendly, but since I don't finish my drink right away, I grab an extra because the straw gets flimsy later on. The place has plenty of seating and a restroom. It can get busy since it's near a school I think. Staff are all accommodating & friendly. Parking is limited out front, but you'll find paid parking around the block. Still one of my favorite noodle spots!

When a friend first recommended Toss, I thought we were going to a salad restaurant. Toss is a casual, student-focused destination (very close to Cal). You stand in line, order, and take a number. Food is delivered to the table. This is my second time here. Each time we've had a group of four or more. The process is efficient, and service is efficient. The noodles are delicious! We had a mix of dishes and all were pleased. The ratings from our group of six ranged from 7 to 9.3 (really). And special kudos to them for having Hitachino White Ale, a Belgian-style beer from Japan. Overall, highly recommended when you are looking for a casual, quick and tasty meal.

Red curry with prawns, spinach noodles

Love Toss for a simple, consistent meal in the UCB area. You decide the type odd noodles or rice. The type of protein, the type of sauce. On this evening they had a special added to their board...eggplant basil. The eggplant was yummy. (didn't care for frozen chicken slices (B), but loved the prawns. Had red curry with prawns (A)... and the coconut prawns.... Paid $45 for 2 meals.... very happy with my dinner. Thank you for simple, good value, decent food.. clean restaurant. Sharine

Came with the family and got way too much food. Kind of pricey for what you get but the servings were huge. We got 3 orders of the garlic noodles and a fried rice. The noodles were nice and chewy. Good garlic flavor but not too much. Fried rice was as expected but it was good. Food came out fast too which e appreciated. We'd definitely come back again, but would order less.

Yummy noodles! Cute place, very easy to order, & really nice people! Food came out fast and was so good, very flavorful! They have pictures of the noodles and descriptions of the sauces which is also very helpful.

Toss used to be on the DoorDash app but not anymore. I've checked so many food delivery apps with an address in Oakland and Albany but can't find it anywhere. Toss says they still have delivery. Does anyone know which app?

This might work well in a bustling location full of non-exempt office workers who have strict limits on their lunch hours. However, I decided to try this particular spot and arrived when there was not a single customer. Then a deranged homeless woman came in. Fortunately I was able to dodge her as I was reviewing the giant backlit menu. I didn't think anything about the emptiness of the space until my order was ready. I decided to try the $13.99 Samgyeopal Ssam-jang, which featured grilled pork belly mixed with veggie soybean paste topped with fried onion, roasted seaweed, and sesame oil, all over rice (Photo 7). The bowl was a strange contrast of textures. Flavor wise, there were more misses than hits. The pork belly was overcooked with the chewy meat rendered almost inedible. The rice was weirdly mushy like it was sitting in lukewarm water far too long. The rest of the ingredients were nondescript. Definitely a hard pass on this bowl in the future. The only reason I'm not leaving one star for this business is that I felt bad for the one soft-spoken server who had the temerity to deal with the unrelenting rantings of the homeless woman. To this day, I think that the spicy wontons are the best in the area - super flavorful beyond just the chili oil taste. Definitely recommend getting these!
