    Chicken francaise
    Amy P.

Came here on a Tuesday for dinner. Ordered the chicken francaise special, fra diavolo, ravioli and mussels. The mussels were delicious. The chicken was tender. The fra diavolo and ravioli were fine. The sausage kale soup was good. The service was a bit slow but think of it as a more European paced dining experience. The dinner salads were nicely dressed. Server was attentive. Ambiance was nice but a bit loud. Outside dining available. Plenty of parking.

    Wild mushroom ravioli

We loved this place! The ambience and service were excellent. Multiple reviews said the service was slow, but this was not our experience. Our server was attentive and extremely professional. This felt like high-end Italian dining. We ordered the grilled Faroe Island salmon and the wild mushroom ravioli. Both were delicious! We plan to return and work our way through the menu.

We arrived early but by 5:15 PM the place was full.

Better place for lunch in my opinion. Different menu. Try too hard to be upscale. Fish dish ordered came out raw Slow service

Sorry, but the food was bland. It looked nice, but lacked flavor. And it was overpriced for what it was.

Before everyone arrived, I went in to ask if we could be accommodated. The first hostess said yes, as long as we split into two separate tables. Five minutes later when everyone arrived, another hostess refused to seat us, saying they couldn't accommodate relatively large groups on weekends. We explained that we were happy to split into two or three separate tables, with no more than 3-4 people at each table, and that no tables needed to be rearranged. The answer was still no. The biggest issue wasn't the policy--it was the way it was handled. The hostess rolled her eyes and treated us with a surprising lack of professionalism and respect. If this was truly the restaurant's policy, it should have been communicated consistently from the start and by all staff to all the other customers too. Our group has been dining together at restaurants around the area almost every day over the past few weeks, and we've never been treated this way anywhere else. We left and took our business elsewhere.

You order at the counter, receive a table number, seat yourself, and your food is delivered to you. When you're done eating, you bus your own table. The male cashier was cheerful. The woman who dropped off the pizza seemed like she's already over it, whatever "it" is. If you sit in a booth close to the arcade game, you can get a peek of the pizza chef kneading and spinning the dough in the air like a pro. The large cheese pizza took about 15 minutes to be served and was so delicious! The sauce:cheese ratio was just right, the crust was thin but not floppy, the sauce wasn't too liquidy that it slipped away between my fingers, it wasn't greasy, the crust was firm but not crispy enough to crumble at the first bite, and the large pizza is enough for two hungry adults. The root beer (Rookie's) was a great choice! It was freshly poured from tap and tasted so unique. It's worth the $4 mug. The interior is light, bright, airy, and full of windows. They have print newspapers, a Deadpool arcade game, and ample seating, both tables and booths. Two single-stall noncoded restrooms were in the back around the corner. Definitely recommended!

After I paid she told me they were switching out taps and she would bring my beer to my table. Never did. Brought my pizza and reported taps were broken. Had to go to register to get refund--while my pizza was getting cold. Had to get manager to do refund. Never gave me credit receipt and got huffy when I asked for written receipt, saying it will take several days for credit to show up, implying *I* was being unreasonable. Did I mention that you order at the counter and seat yourself. But at least half of the tables were filthy and during the time I was there I never saw anyone cleaning tables. The restroom was equally nasty. Yet they want you to tip for service you never receive and to do so before your food arrives. Stay away if service means anything to you.

We had the Margherita, Capricciosa, Caesar salad, and the Nutella pizza and flourless cake for dessert. Kids devoured their Margherita slices and we really enjoyed the acidic, salty, roasted, crusty, chewy, fluffy, perfectly balanced notes of the artichoke, olive, tomato, and cheese Capriciossa. I know Caesar is a boring choice but sometimes the stomach wants what it wants, and this one was worth noting; I especially enjoyed the little nub of chewy pizza dough bread with it. I got it anchovy-less, because I don't love crunching on the little dudes, personally. Accessible entrance for wheels is around the back via a ramp in the alley--there's a doorbell for entry. They provided crayons and a coloring sheet for kids which always wins me over instantly, and were highly aware and educated around food allergies and their menu. 5/5 and an easy recommendation all around.

It didn't take long to identify the state's core competencies: Producing world-class cheese Perfecting brick oven pizza Aggressively curating a very specific political vibe Curiously, only two of those things are edible, and unfortunately, you can't get pizza without being reminded of the third. Also worth noting: I'm not convinced any other style of pizza exists in Vermont. If it's not artisanal, wood-fired, and served on a reclaimed barn board, it apparently doesn't make the cut. So naturally, my brain locked in and I ate pizza two nights in a row like a creature of habit. Night 1: Pizzeria Verità Parking was...aspirationally convenient. After navigating downtown Burlington, which feels like a live-action sociology thesis, I made it inside. Let's address the elephant in the room: the price. With tip, I dropped nearly $30 for what amounted to a personal-sized pepperoni pizza that politely declined to fill me up. I assume part of the cost goes toward sourcing ethically massaged tomatoes or ensuring the mozzarella had a fulfilling upbringing. Now, to be fair, the pizza was excellent. Truly. Great crust, quality ingredients, clearly crafted by someone who cares deeply about their art. But the value? That's where things get a little...Vermont. Delicious? Absolutely. Filling? Not quite. Financially efficient? Only if you measure wealth in vibes. I went in skeptical, left impressed, and still had to consider a second dinner.
