Went to dinner a few nights ago and it was such a great experience! Unfortunately for us it was a busy night and we had no reservation. But we decided to eat at the bar and we're so glad we did! The bartender was so friendly and helpful as we made our choices. My husband's dirty martini was just the way he liked it. I ended up with the chicken dish. Now, I have to say, I NEVER order chicken out--why bother when I make it at home all the time, right?! Well, this was, by far, the best chicken dish I have ever had!! It was crispy, yet moist and flavorful! I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day, and still wanted more!! My husband had the salmon which he also said was excellent. Very elegant and cozy restaurant with great service. I had the salmon with crispy kale and spaghetti squash for dinner, which was so good. For dessert I had the apple crisp with salted caramel ice cream on top, both homemade. The dessert took 20 minutes to bake, but it was well worth it. Great spot! read more

I had never been here before, and came with family between Christmas and New Year when no one felt like cooking. I was pleased with all facets, as was everyone else. The place is small, maybe a dozen tables, if that, with a tiny bar area. It would be a great place for fancy date night. Our server was great. Friendly, efficient, patient (when asked to repeat daily features repeatedly) and was generally Julie-on-the-spot with refills and check-ins. Food was executed perfectly. I had the black garlic NY strip with duck fat fries. I asked for medium rare, and it was exactly that from end to end, and the sauce was to die for. The crispy brussel sprouts were also spot on, crispy on the outside and sweet at the center. The pasta carbonara was a hit: fresh pasta and not at all heavy. We did some "try a bite of mine" sharing, and I thought the swordfish steak was good and the tomato sugo for a seafood medley pasta was delicious. We shared some cannoli for desert. I've been here twice for business related dinners. As such, I've had the opportunity to try a good amount of the menu. Some of the options are fantastic, and others are just okay, but nothing to write home about. Apps: -Lump meat crab cake - very simple dish that's delicious -Crispy Risotto Balls - these were okay. nothing that special about them, they honestly felt a little bland. -Beef carpaccio - Pretty good! -Fresh Oysters - Also fresh and good Mains: -Grilled Beef tenderloin - this was delicious. absolutely cooked perfectly medium rare and easy to slice. -Za'atar dusted salmon - It wasn't bad or anything, it was just salmon. Nothing too special about this dish. -Red wine slow braised short rib - I really liked this dish! Perfectly tender and fall of the bone goodness. The little raviolis it came with were whatever though. Prime steak - Also very delicious and cooked perfectly well. Sides: -Truffle Mac&Cheese - made with truffle oil so it wasn't super truffley but still good. -Truffle Fries - also made with truffle oil, not super truffley but you could def. tell that they were fried in duck fat. Dessert: -Blueberry crumble w/ Ice cream - delicious! Fresh blueberries too -Ice creams - all homemade, pretty good. Overall, this place is pretty good. The cocktails were good with a decent balance of mixers to alcohol. It is however, pretty pricey. It's really easy to rack up the bill. It's probably one of the nicer places to eat around the area (there's not too many places to go to). The menu online isn't always the full menu - they also offer specials of the day and just other seasonal offerings that you might not find online. Not too busy for a Thursday night, we had a party of four and got seated immediately outdoors. I've been here twice while visiting CT, really great food, great service. Intimate setting, dim lights, definitely great for a date! We always get started with an amuse-bouche. I think we had the crab cake the first visit, this time we had the pasta salad with roasted red peppers. For the main courses, I always order the roasted salmon, chef recommends it being cooked medium and it always comes out perfect!! Love the wild rice and tzatziki. Rib eye steak was also cooked as requested - medium rare. Some places always overcook the steak but this place does not. For dessert, creme brulee is my go to here. After a long time, my husband and I finally came here for dinner. We had no reservations but they were pleasant and seated us. On a Saturday night, it filled up pretty quickly. The bar area was partitioned off and we had no problems with noise or enjoying our meal. The spot is nice and cozy. Everyone who served us was super pleasant and helpful. We ordered a portobello mushroom appetizer that was really delicious. I had the wine braised short ribs with truffle mac and cheese and fries brussel sprouts. My husband ordered the sirloin (or was it tenderloin.. can't remember) steak with truffle fries. OMG... both were amazing! The cut of steak my husband got looked fantastic and he could not even finish it all. Nor could I finish my short rib and we both took it to go. I loved my truffle mac and cheese and the brussel sprouts were so delicious! I loved that it looked like a mini flight of main courses. We ordered a chocolate pot de creme for dessert, and it was also delicious. However now I want to try that flight of ice cream I saw, next time! I would definitely come back again for fine dining and to try the other dishes that all looked amazing! I definitely recommend this spot for an impressive meal. We came in with no reservation and I am so glad they got to take us in. We knew from the starting bread with sun dried tomato pesto that we were in for a amazing dinner. Christian provided excellent service with genuine care and ensured we knew what we were ordering before we committed to anything. I should have reviewed Tosca when it was fresh in my mind - Tosca is a restaurant that deserves a proper, thorough review. My dinner started with a nice bottle of wine and 12 oysters - I believe they were/are sourced from PEI. They were bleary meaty, a bit briney with a hint of smoke....delicious. The next dish was a beat salad. All I'll say about the salad is, Dwight Schrute would be proud. My main dish was the beef tenderloin. It was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful. It was absolutely delightful. I finished with the home made ice cream - lovey. I'm upset that the restaurant isn't fresh in my mind, because as I said Tosca really deserves a thoughtful review. Rachel, the bar tender, was super attentive, knowledgeable and pointed out the chef/owner's commitment to turning out fresh, delicious Italian food from scratch. Haven't been to Tosca in a few years , and I'm not sure what took so long to come back. This is one of my favorite restaurants! Came here on a Wednesday evening , ate outside because it was actually really nice out. More so in the shade , but still very nice. The updates they made to the patio look awesome . Our server was Nick M. And I hope he is our server everytime we go. So friendly , attentive, and just a nice guy ! We started off with the tomato & burrata salad and 6 cocktail shrimp. Give me all of the burrata , I love cheese , and add fresh tomatoes to it .... just delicious. The shrimp were super fresh and the cocktail sauce was very tasty. We also both got the cucumber jalapeño margarita. Perfect amount of spice and the tequila was very good. I'd probably get the same drink to start off next time I go back. For dinner , we got the Chatham cod topped with lump crab over a bed of asparagus risotto , and also the seared scallops over a bed of tomato corn risotto. We ordered the Mediterranean chop salad and a side of the truffle Mac and cheese (because who doesn't love Mac & cheese) to go with our meals because apparently we were super hungry . I can't describe how good the entrees were. They both were delicious, hot , fresh tasting , and the presentation was flawless . We shared a bottle of the rosé , thinking we'd take the rest of what we don't finish home , but we finished the bottle instead of getting dessert since we were pretty full. Finally had the opportunity to stop in this evening for an amazing meal! My friend and I enjoyed a few dishes offered as a chef's special...WOW! I personally wanted to see what Chef Kevin would prepare daily outside of their menu offering. Nick was out server and knew everything on the menu (we asked him how in the hell do you remember all of this? He expressed his love for what he does and clearly shows it by how he retained all the knowledge over each item). Everything from steaks to seafood, salads and daily baked bread are available all the time. If you live in the area or just visiting Connecticut via airport I'd recommend this location due to its proximity, overall atmosphere inside and beautiful outdoor patio. We had reservations for 6 people Saturday evening.12/4/2021. On arrival, we were told we had to wait for a free table and could wait in the bar. We waited 40 -45 minutes and remarked as much to the bartender. She passed our remarks on to the owner who stepped into the middle of the bar and in so many words kicked us out!! Asked us to leave!
