Drinks menu and bar area

All the cocktails are 5 euros. They are delicious and large with great fresh ingredients. All the food is reasonably priced too and fantastic. We especially loved the fried squid, came back the next night for more! Delicious tapas and great friendly service, not possible to go wrong here.

Walked in here for dinner and had an enjoyable meal!! It took them a little while to seat us because they said they were understaffed. But after we were seated the service was very quick! Ordered salmon and some empanadas and they were both delicious! Loved the sauce on the salmon and the empanadas were warm and so cheesy! Great experience!

Tapas plates we ordered were vegetarian and were delicious for this non-vegetarian. The ambience was like being in a neighborhood eatery not a tourist restaurant even though I was the tourist. Service was friendly and patient with my terrible New York/Long Island accent. We walked from our hotel that was near the Barcelona Cathedral.

Prawns - quite good and the heads are delicious!

Great spot for very good tapas style eating and great drinks. Enjoyed the mixed charcuterie board which is quite large including a soft Brie and a semi soft cheese as well as multiple toasted pieces of bread and multiple salamis and thin sliced cured meats. We also had the olives which were tasty and not too salty. The spinach empanadas were also good - creamy spinach filling. The pizza was ok but filling - 2 slices. The prawns were the best tapas of the night and came with the heads which are quite good if you know how and what to eat. I had a glass of the house red which was nice and dry while my wife had the sangria which was also quite good. Overall, a worthwhile place to check out. We are not huge eaters and left quite full and the total was only $69 euros for a family of 4.

Best Place so far! Stumbled upon this hidden gem behind the market when looking for a late lunch. It is in a quiet corner with Great food .. Menu of the Day was delicious. Drink, soup, dish, and dessert for 15ě is unbeatable. Cannot wait to go again and would highly recommend as noticed a lot of locals stop by - no better sign!!

First day in Barcelona and this place was wonderful. The food was so tasty, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the drinks were what we needed. No need to find dinner, this place kept us full and happy. Try the mussels! Delicious! It's in a great location for people watching with its kid park nearby. I highly recommend.

English speaking establishment with friendly service. They make margaritas in martini glasses thought I was drinking a lemon drop. The Mojito was delish as well. They have an array of vegetarian and vegan food which has been a bit difficult to find variety of. The food is absolutely delish. Wish I had found this place a bit sooner. It's a definite must try if you are in town.

Salmon (ate half already)

Prawns were alright but the sausage with chimichurri, salmon, fried squid, and potatoes were bland and did not taste good. I know tapas are mostly the same deep fried items, but I've had better tapas than these. On a Tuesday night, sounded like the restaurant was 50% Americans. Service is okay and it is located across a park. Restaurant vibe was lively though.

Great tapas at a decent price. Definitely worthwhile for a lunch stop if you're in the area (which is also pretty centrally located for a lot of local attractions). Good service and selection, and good food to boot!

Stumbled upon this spot. Got to eat outside right across from a park. Delicious meal, kind servers, and all around perfect meal! 10/10 recommend

Loved this cozy place. It gets very busy but the service was friendly and attentive. We loved the food and so returned a number of times.

Thank goodness we had a reservation, otherwise the wait time for walk-ins was quoted to be 2-3 hours. We were seated at the counter, smack-dab in the middle of all the action. The drinks were just okay, but the tapas were great! We tried the anchovy dish, jamon, tomato toast, paella, padron peppers, spanish omelette, mussels, and finished with the crema catalana for dessert. All of the dishes were outstanding and they did not disappoint. Service was phenomenal and they were all very friendly and engaging with diners. They guided us on how many plates to order and stopped us from ordering too much, which I appreciate since we weren't sure how big each portion was. Would definitely come back if I had the chance!

The street outside this resturant is not safe in my estimation. I mean my beautiful daughter did get chased by "a newer uninvited resident." Inside? The best resturant in the city. Maybe in all of Spain. I could make a case for it to be THE BEST RESTURANT ON EARTH. (Except that title goes to Commanders Palace in New Orleans or Caviar Kaspia in Paris. But maybe not.) Great service. Great food. Great feeling place. Drawbacks? The neighborhood. The entrance to get in is AWFUL. The place is always too crowded and it can get very loud. Yet I am giving it the maximum stars? "Why Mancow," you ask. Ready? I don't know! Its just THAT SPECIAL.

We were led to the dining room upstairs. The menu has English descriptions beneath each dish. We ordered 10 dishes: Pan Con Tomate (bread with tomato and tomato sauce), Patatas Bravas (Spanish potatoes; not greasy, very tasty), Albondigas de la Yaya (meatballs with tomato sauce; very tender meat), Calamares a la Andaluza (fried squid; nicely cooked and not rubbery, like them alot), Bastoncitos de Pollo (homemade chicken nuggets with BB sauce; crispy and tender, tasty BB sauce), Empanada Compesina (not too crazy about this one), Empanada Picante (spicy meat; it is okay), Spaghetti Carbonara (very soft, lots of sauce; nice dish), Yakimeshi (rice with squid and shrimp; my favorite!), and Macareno (hamburger, doble cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and fried egg; very juicy, mouth watering and very American hamburger!) Water is a very pricey item in Europe. We ordered three bottles of water at 2.30 EUR or 2.60 USD each. We did get 30% off our bill! The server was friendly, patient, polite, and very warm. The dishes were reasonably priced. We had a wonderful dining experience at this place. Highly recommended if you visit the area.

Second trip back to Barcelona. Had to make the right restaurant choices for my favorite tapas…read moredishes. I was definitely right on the mark as all restaurants I've walked by before dinner wasn't as crowded as this. And this place had a line out the door. Pan con tomate (toasted bread with tomato spread) was done sooo right here because they used crisp brioche bread and the tomato spread had a nice balanced ratio of olive oil blended into it. The patatas bravas (brave potatoes) took me back to the first time I had this in 2018. Such good crisp skin, soft fluffiness and that aioli mayo signature sauce on top - I swear I feel they make their own sauce for this dish. Grilled octopus here is special as instead of a tentacle - you get a fatty piece with multiple cuts of the octopus. Even better just as you would get multiple pieces of fatty toro in an omakase. I just loved the ease of dining in Barcelona where you share small intricate flavored plates with a glass of wine to balance these dishes. It was a nice long but roomier restaurant in the back. Very deceptive to the eyes but in a good way. You get to see the chefs cook near you that makes you appreciate the work of art put into the food. And can't forget the oxtail dish that's uniquely in the form of a patty and broken up into shredded meats. Fabulous to everything.

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.
