Traveled 9 hrs to get a vehicle. Was very dirty and unprepped. Very unprofessional. Tried to sneak in extra registration fees (they corrected once called out). Only reason they got 2 stars is because they did the negotiating over the phone and a lot of places wont do that, but being 9 hrs away I had no choice. Had issue w/ vehicle and their service basically said "i dont know" and refused to do anything about it. Went to a ford dealer because I had higher expectations. Their website states that they only sell at msrp but that's not entirely true. When interested in buying a car I asked the salesman a few questions and was satisfied with his answers, he stated the sales price was the msrp and there were no additional add ons or extra charges so I put the deposit down with him and he said he would call me the next day. The next day he called me and said that the owner would only sell at 3000 above msrp because he wanted service business and I was out of state so they wouldn't sell me to at the price they said they would. Extremely deceptive website where they pick and choose who to sell people the cars at certain prices. I almost would have been more satisfied if they told me up front we are charging markup instead of giving me a false sense of hope. read more

As a creature of habit, I've gone to the same dealer for years, purchased 7 vehicles, referred my father and neighbo, who also purchased from them. Had 2 unbelievably bad service experiences with them. Enter Torrington Ford! Purchased a beautiful truck for my husband, which was a fast, wonderf experience. During 1st oil change, the service manager noticed the back brakes and rotors were work more than should be for the number of miles. He corrected both, free of charge. He also drove me home so I didn't have to wait. Trusting a dealership is so important. They've won a customer for life. I highly recommend them! read more

If we could give more stars we would. Let me start by saying we live in New York, and we would not even think twice about using a dealer here even if it was in a rocks throwing distance. The owner Anthony made this process extremely hassle free by not only personally delivering our 2017 Lincoln Navigator but took our vehicle back with him (the one we traded in.). I don't think we will ever use anyone but this dealership. What owner takes his time out of his own day to make the trip from Connecticut to N.Y to hand deliver a vehicle. He was extremely patient in listening to our needs and wants when it came to choosing the perfect vehicle. We all know dealerships can cause stress, speaking to this person or that person or sign this or sign that.... not here. I cannot comment on the sales department but my experience with the service department was very poor. They service advisor was pleasant and helpful but the service manager denied multiple warranty claims on my 2 year old vehicle with 25,000 miles. All the problems were later confirmed as legitimate and fixed at another area dealership free of charge. The service department also told me that they had updated the sync software on my vehicle to fix issues I was having but did not actually perform the service. Making matters worse the service manager was rude and unprofessional on more than one occasion. Don't bring your car here for service as there are much better options in the area. read more

I can't recommend this dealership, nor would I go here again. I had a better experience back in 2015, but when I came in for service they didn't even know that my car was under full warranty. I have always had my car serviced here and all of a sudden I needed four new tires and they never informed me it was a potential issue before. When I wanted to talk about it the GM just ignored me. I ended up getting a new car, which is fine, but I asked if they could fill the gas up, and they said "yes", but they didn't. It was all rushed and chaotic and I came back to get my regular plates and they forgot all about it and my plates were nowhere to be found. I will definitely be looking for a new place to service my car. read more

I recently bought a used Ford Escape in November of this year. I have to say everyone that I dealt with treated my husband and I very well. I'm always hesitant when I have to go to dealerships but we all instantly connected. The sale of the vehicle went very smoothly.. We did though have a situation afterward but it was taken care of right away. What happened was when we bought the Ford escape my husband mentioned that the tires look bald but Ron the salesman kind of blew that off and said that they were fine. I don't know why we let that go but we did ....After receiving my new registration in the mail which took about a month I took it to my mechanic to be inspected but he also said that the tires were not in great shape and that the front brakes were pretty bad but the back were in better condition but still should be taken care of. He told me they should have never let that go by. I did call the dealership right away and I spoke to Matt the loan officer because he was the only one there at the time and he assured me he would talk to the owner Anthony Senior and he would get back to me. The next day Matt did call me back and we set up a time for me to come and have the owner Anthony senior along with their mechanic look at my vehicle. Anthony came out and told me that he was going to take care of the tires and the front brakes and although the back brakes weren't as bad he was going to take care of that too. He stated that the salesman that dealt with me (Ron)was fired soon after he sold me my vehicle but I really did not ask why....Anthony did state that this vehicle should've never left the dealership in the condition that it was. I have to say that dealing with these guys Anthony Senior, Anthony Jr (the owners) and the loan officer were really great to deal with. I'm hoping we can continue a great relation with them. Horrible experience. Walked in to get parts for my truck, seemed like I was inconveniencing the employees as I walked in. Asked for the parts I needed, employee rolled his eyes and begrudgingly walked to the back room, extremely rudely. Went to pay for my parts and the woman said my debit card was invalid. Explained to the woman that my card wasn't an invalid card, she said well this is a debit card and we don't take debit cards only credit. Educated said employee that a debit can also be run as credit. Wow! After running as a credit card it was suddenly valid! Will never go back to this place- it wasn't just one employee having a bad day and giving me horrible customer service it was everyone at the front. Customer service goes along way! read more

I went in to have a new key made for my truck that I purchased used and only had one. The issue is with only having one I would have to send it into service and was well aware prior to as well as Matt explaining to me. We got talking and mentioned the truck had an aftermarket remote start prior to me with an uncut key and we both concluded that it must be trained to the truck and that he was going to cut the key and we would try it as I may be able to train a new key being that I have 2 keys now. Thanks to his expertise and willingness to help we were able to do just this and he even took the time to do the relearn process for me in the lot. I really appreciate when a dealership employee goes out of their way to help. I have a few services I need done soon and Torrington Ford will most likely be getting my business . read more

These guys are awful. I had them replace my exhaust manifolds on my F150, and they did did a bunch of secondary damage in the process. They denied all of it and quoted me an additional 3000 to fix all the issues they created plus one unrelated problem they tried to repair and failed. They had no interest in negotiating anything until I informed them I was taking the vehicle back. Suddenly, they wanted to wheel and deal and talk salvaged and OEM parts to get the cost down. I took it back to my mechanic, and I had to force him to take 400 bucks, because he felt guilty having to send me the dealer route, to drop in a salvaged compressor motor that they (Ford) broke, which lead to it seizing. And he went item by item to verify not everything needed replacement. Most of it just needed a wrench. I've never seen anything like it. I picked Torrington because it was the closest dealer to me. The best part of the whole episode was the mechanic denying my description of how the damage occurred because he doesn't even "repair it that way." "That way" being the recommended/standard procedure from Ford. There's about a dozen Ford trucks parked behind the firehouses where I work. Three of them have Torrington Ford horror stories. My fault for not asking my bros first. Pick any other dealership. Save yourself. read more

I have never had such an easy, smooth, hassle-free car buying experience. My husband and I kept expecting "ok, NOW is when they'll lay it on us" and they never did! No hard sell, no pushiness. They happily waved goodbye when we said we needed to think about it, no comments about incentives expiring soon or not many cars being left. Got a GREAT price without unpleasant arguing, and the car is AWESOME. Rich answered all our questions and Tom made sure the financial side of it was straightforward. Ok where do I begin? Let me start with saying I had just began searching for a Lincoln Hybrid MKZ and I am so happy to say that I found Torrington Ford Lincoln online when searching for my hybrid. This dealer is in a different state, but starting with the website and the ease of the inventory, it drew me right in. I easily searched what I was looking for and found a few. I called and got Ron LaPlante on the phone. Again, so easy to talk to and the next day went down to see a few cars. Ron was so helpful, knowledgable, and easy to talk to that my husband and me ended up staying there a few hours! We also ended up speaking to the manager Mark and he was just as easy to speak with. Long story short, we bought our MKZ for a great price, and Ron thoroughly helped us with the transaction. I have to say, this is the 10th new car that I have owned, and by far the nicest, easiest and laid back atmosphere that I have had the pleasure to do business in. We ended up renting a car for the day from Enterprise rent a car, (the return location is right across the street) so convenient and had a nice lunch at George's Restaurant, also pretty much right across the street. The whole day was nice, but the best part was the purchase. It really was a pleasure doing business with Torrington Lincoln and in the future, will surely return when we look for another vehicle.
