I needed to get a special bra for a bridal fitting and only had two days and this store was a life saver. They have a great selection of different kinds of plus sized bras and great customer service. I called Torrid. They answered the phone right away and said they had what I needed. I got there, told them what I was looking for. The sales associate I worked with found the product herself and even went to the back to make sure I had multiple size items to try. She also found me a fitting room. I didn't have to wait long at all. Eventually I found the right bra. The whole process was very quick. Normally, I get bras at department stores or online but this experience will probably make Torrid my go-to for bra shopping from now on. read more

Last year, my self-esteem song was MIKA's "Big Girl, You Are Beautiful." This year, my self-esteem STORE is Torrid. I actually adamantly avoided the place for a very long time because I thought that it was mostly all-black punk grrrl clothing. But when I decided to check it out again recently, I saw that they had a few fun graphic/gothic tees, but mostly awesome and gorgeous, young-looking professional-wear and casual clothing. Do you know how hard it is to find dresses? Torrid has them in spades. They run a little short, but that's homage to their motto that yes, big girls can be beautiful, too. Their staff has always been super friendly and very helpful. Stylish, not intimidating, and they actually wear the clothing that they're selling. You won't find any stick-figure employees here. Instead, you'll find gorgeous Amazon women wearing skinny jeans and oversized belts (yes, skinny jeans...one of the employees tried to get me to try some on...I said no thanks). The merchandise is priced similarly to your normal GAP or Banana Republic (so it's a little expensive to me), and they don't have blow-out sales or awesome coupons very often. But it's worth every penny. Because the clothing is great, and I leave feeling uplifted and beautiful...not like shit. read more

I'd never been into a Torrid store and needed to return and exchange some things from my first purchase from this brand online as they didn't fit perfectly because I'm still figuring out the sizing. The associate who helped me was very kind and helpful and she stayed on top of understanding what could have easily become a messy exchange + buying more items there but they were totally patient and on it. They also gave me very accurate guidance on which sizes to buy for the fit I described I was looking for. I was very nervous that things would shrink and then be uncomfortable but the way this brand designs and cuts the clothes is truly impressive and everything seems accurately pre-shrunk and true to size. I'm excited to know my perfect size for jeans, leggings and tops because I love all the styles. I have a hard time finding cotton very many places and they offer high cotton content along with great quality, style, stretch and comfort. Needless to say, I will be a frequent customer. read more

I've had a similarly unfortunate experience at a different Torrid. The service is meh. The store is crowded. There are only two cash registers and one was dominated by a pair trying things on, running back and forth, and then asking the cashier to make orders online. The other was hung up because someone was in the midst of a transaction, paid for part of it and then walked off. So they left the register unusable because apparently it's so difficult to void part of a transaction? Not the staff's fault, but I'm not gonna wait for them to sort that out for more than 5 minutes. Store was crowded and cluttered and yet lacking in selection. I might go back, but the clothes quality (in my past experience) is very hit and miss. Good service from the staff even though she was working alone. I am frustrated by one aspect of the store. I wear I size 12 which seems to be a regular stores 16. Unfortunately none of the shirts fit me as my top half is too small. It would be awesome if they carried a size 00 so that ladies with big size difference could make complete outfits. read more

This is a review for Lloyd Center store. The management is very rude. They are so fake! They make a point to always compliment the shoppers on how they look in their clothes but it is disingenuous. The fakeness comes through. The clothes are over priced and sure to fall apart within two washes. and fall apart and don't even think of return items that you've worn-return policy is awful. It doesn't matter if the overpriced junk store clothing fell apart, it's the customers loss. If you've spent $100 on a pair of jeans and the seam tears you should be able to return them. They only reason I'm giving any type if good score is because they still have some stylish clothing for the plus size woman. read more

The atmosphere here is just plain welcoming that you don't want to leave. They helped us from the moment we walked in and constantly checked in on us the whole time we were there. I really freaking love this store. The best part of this particular store is the girls that work in there. The manager (I believe her name is Heather) is ahhhhmazing. She is so nice, and so helpful. She is always so nice to my two boys who get dragged along with mom into the 'clothes store' more often than they would like. She's made recommendations, and suggestions, and once talked me into getting a shirt that I normally wouldn't have even looked at. And you know what? She was right, that shirt is fantastic and I love it and it DOES look great on me. She's the best. All the other girls are fantastic too. Quirky, fun, friendly, I've never once had a bad customer service experience here, even when they're busy. The clothing here, I could go on and on. It's a love hate thing really. I love the clothes so so much. There is ALWAYS something in here that I will like. Always. But I hate how much money I could spend in there! They are on the more expensive side, for me anyways, but they run sales often, and you can get some killer deals when they run a good clearance sale... like last weekend when the clearance was buy one get TWO free. Crazy. So, being the tightwad that I am, I will never pay full price for anything here. There is always a way to get it cheaper. Coupons, sales, something. The only really negative thing about this place is the turn over of their items. Good for finding new things, less good when you have been eyeing a jacket or something that you really want, only to find it's sold out a week later when you've scraped up the money to buy it. So, generally, if you see something you love, probably don't wait very long to buy it if you can, because that stuff goes quick. They. Have. Pretty. Bras. For. Big. Busty. Ladies. I cannot stress how amazing this is. Big bras at regular stores are all hideous or matronly, or just plain boring. Why can't a curvy girl have pretty under things too?!? We like sexy bras too ya know! Torrid has some great sexy fun bras, and ones that fit well and flatter your shape. They all run around $35-50, which may sound like a lot, but its really not, and hello! SALES!!! They also recently updated their fitting rooms, with great lighting, big mirrors and these really excellent fans. Because holy crap did it get hot in there. Those fans are a god-send. read more

The staff is always friendly and willing to help out with anything you need. The prices are a bit high for me to justify making any purchases here but the clothing looks very trendy and upper shelf. I have shopped at Torrid for years, in several different locations. This one is by far the best. The staff is always so friendly, funny, and helpful. They make it feel like you are trying on clothes with a group of friends, rather than pushy salespeople. Hi. I was introduced to the Torrid store by a friend. We went in together and were treated so welcomingly! The ladies were knowledgeable & very helpful. They were Plus-sized and wore their style effortlessly. Im not speaking for only the big girls who are treated with a col shoulder in stores, but for anyone who feels disrepected in most retail settings. I cannot stand going in this store Heather is always rude! I will never go back here again, I heard her talk about me to another employee about what I needed today. She wasn't familiar with the catalog that had been out for 2 weeks and the item I requested was still in boxes and she didn't know which one?! Don't you get an inventory sheet when items come in and it would tell you from there what box to look in....so lazy obviously she won't go out of her way. Horrible experience ordering online! its been a month and I still do not have my items. every time I call customer service you cannot understand the person and this last time I got hung up on! They are full of excuses but at each turn it has been me tracking down my order via Fed Ex and then the USPS and now UPS REALLY! and yet they have never once contacted me as to the status of my extremely over due order! Personally I think Maurice's is a far better experience with quality as well as great customer service. (no I do not work or know anyone that works for Maurice's) I will not be buying from Torrid again!
