This location is staggeringly convenient- a brief walk from the Pantheon, shopping, restaurants, and transit hubs, it is also a great spot to hail a cab or an Uber.
As a group of 9, we had several rooms, and they were all unique and quite different.
It's this uniqueness that brings with it some pluses and some minuses. Also, there are a couple things this hotel does that are excellent and exceed any expectations I would have had before.
Great: LOCATION, as highlighted above.
Also, free breakfast room service! And beyond fresh bread and fruit, they also offer eggs and breakfast meats.
An ingenious espresso maker also sits in each room, and once mastered, it quickly creates delicious coffee that tastes very fresh.
Air conditioning! We came during a heatwave. Prior hotels had AC that did not impress. This place has AC that will leave you needing a quilt when it is till 90 degrees outside.
Service: the staff here is the most friendly hotel staff I have ever met. Whatever we asked for; cold water, towels, coffee pods.. they provided immediately and warmly.
A secure street entrance: the main entrance is located right on the main walkway, and it requires a code to get in.
Not so great: no shower in our room. We can adapt, and we did over the several night stay here, but we really feel like there need to be an actual shower in any hotel. Our bath tub sits in the middle of the room, with no enclosure, and only a handheld wand for water. The other rooms has similar tubs, but they had a bit more privacy, and they had shower heads.
No storage. Our suitcase ms and bags occupied most of the seating in our room, with no room for any of our fellow travelers to sit with us, and it looked a bit messy all the time.
We theorize that we must have gotten some kind of honeymoon room.
All in all, I'd recommend this place. The shower and storage are not deal-breakers considering all the pluses this hotel offers. And it certainly is unique! read more
