Honestly the best staff, in particular we loved Sara, Carlo, Luca. Sara was genuinely friendly and helpful during our stay. The rooftop bar had some gorgeous views of the city. It can get windy up there so dress appropriately. Our room had the best view of the pantheon. It was nice to see the insane number of tourists and watch it die down in the evening. This hotel includes breakfast daily from approximately 7am to 10am and the options were pretty good. Coffee, pastries, bacon, eggs, yogurt, fruit, and fruit juices. The pineapple juice was my personal favorite along with the cappuccino. Nice. No frills hotel immediately adjacent to the Pantheon. Great location. Stayed here for a quick layover. It's a tough comparison since my previous stay in the area was a wonderful airbnb about a minute down Via dei Pastini in which we had half a floor to spread out over. All in all perfectly fine. The best hotel right in the middle of the action unlike all my previous times, the travel agents booked us out of town. My last stay I booked was at Sofitel, beautiful hotel w a breakfast buffet better than st Cesar Palace but it was in the middle of nowhere! It was 15 euros to go from point A to B. Albergo Del Senato is in front of the Pantheon, piazza della Rotonda, I am on the 1st floor which is actually 2nd floor, I can watch the beautiful piazza from my window n people watching till 2am, restaurants are open till 2am weekends, 1am weekdays. There are about 8 restaurants near by n even a supermarket, I was very lucky to find this gem, I booked this during all the Fearmongering, right now they are 100% booked till thanksgiving. There are only 2 rooms w balconies opening to the pantheon, this must be Presidential suite, ours was a junior suite w such comfortable bed n pillows. I'm still shocked there is zero inflation, gelato 3 euros? Unheard of, pizza 10 to 12€, caipirinhas 9.50€ taxi 20 min to Villa Borghese only 9€? Where's the inflation Joey? Stop blaming other people! It's you creating skyrocketing inflation! I told my kids to come here when they come to Rome. I wish I could rate this 6 stars! Arrive Derci! read more

Beautiful hotel with amazing views. We had a superior room (I think that's what it was called) and it guaranteed a view of the Pantheon. And oh what a view. We also had a patio to sit and enjoy all the activity. It was perfect. Our room was nice. King sized bed. Bathroom was roomy enough. Not a lot of space for suitcases and we weren't there long enough to unpack so we just lived with suitcases on the floor and furniture. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. Loved the cappuccino each morning. Got one to go to enjoy on the patio. Scrambled eggs and bacon along with breads, fruit, yogurt, and cereal were available each morning. With all the activity in the square, it can stay loud at night. But having the view of the Pantheon cannot be beat. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Great stay. read more

Beware of being double charged for "city tax" of 6 Euro per person per night. We paid in Euro "cash" upon check out and they also charged the credit card that was on file for booking the room. They gave me a receipt for the 24 Euro that I paid in cash, but it was in italian so I didn't realize that it really wasn't a receipt saying "cash" payment. Instead they took my Euros and charged my credit card. Hotel would not work with me after several attempts back and forth. The hotel is in an excellent location and no other complaints. We stayed four nights at this quaint hotel next to the Pantheon. Our room was on the fourth floor facing the Pantheon so we had a great view of the square. The room is smaller in size but clean. Front desk, bell person, and housekeeping are all very friendly. This hotel has a nice rooftop patio that overlooks the entire square. On days where we left early for ours, the hotel did pack us a little snack bag so we can bring it with us. Their breakfast service in the dinning room is very nice if you get a chance to try it. We stayed here for two nights. The location is ideal, especially if this is your first trip to Rome. It was easily walkable or at most a few minutes bus ride from sights like the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and so forth. We also found it an easy transfer to/from the airport via bus to termini station and the leonardo express even when we had to be at the Vatican at 7:30 am and left for the airport at 6:30. If I didnt have a limited amount of time and desire to see all of the above, I personally might stay a little further afield. But if you love being right in the action, you'll love this locale. The rooms were fine. They were clean with a nice bathroom and decorated in a very classic style (well represented in photos). Not large but not particularly small, especially for Europe in a large city. We did wish the minibar was refreshed daily. It tells you something that my biggest complaint was not refreshing the mini bar! We found the service excellent and enjoyed the the excellent restaurant suggestions from the desk. Although, the fact that you had to leave/retrieve your keys each time you entered/exited was a bit of a hassle and meant there was often several people waiting. Overall, I would have no problem either returning to this location or recommending it to others. read more

We were actually switched to this hotel by the hotel group since our original booking location would not be open upon our arrival. This was no loss! Hotel Albergo del Senato is beautiful: immaculately maintained, centrally located, and lovely rooms. Our room was sizable by European standards and had an AMAZING view right over the Pantheon (normally would be too touristy for me, but since Rome had only just reopened, it was basically empty). The storage was just enough, the bathroom was nice and big for two, there were plenty of outlets and USB ports (therefore, room was updated), and everything was just a great quality all around. The staff is also very courteous and fluent in English as well as Italian, so my husband felt as comfortable as I did. I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitors to Rome. read more

My family and I were lucky enough to score the penthouse suite a few summers ago, at a very reasonable price. We had two bedrooms, a living room, and a master suite with a marble bathroom including a sunken Roman tub, all overlooking the Pantheon which was the building right next to us. And to make it even more spectacular, we had our own large private garden deck, 6 or so floors up, with views of everything that makes Rome so great. The hotel was clean and lovely... the staff friendly... and the breakfast spread was great. I love it here. And if I can ever stay here again, I most certainly will. read more

I can sit in our room and look out into the plaza and look at the Pantheon. Simplify amazing the beauty and character of this 2000 year old building right outside our window. The hotel was great, nice employees, loved the free breakfast every morning. The hotel elevators are super small, like 2 people very tight small. One thing we didn't like they kept our room key everytime we left the facility, not sure why that is but we never had an issue with anything so I didn't let it effect this review just be prepaired. Would love to return in the summer to enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar. read more

We stayed here for 5 nights in July and had the greatest time in Rome. Beautiful and clean hotel with air conditioning (helps alot with the hot summers in Rome). It was my birthday but we didn't tell any of the staff. Just went out and celebrated with a nice dinner in one of the many excellent restaurants nearby. When we returned to our room, there was a bottle of champagne sitting in an icebucket with a card greeting me a happy birthday. What a nice gesture. Topnotch! What an amazing place! I had a top floor room with a small balcony that looked over the most jaw dropping sights I've seen. ROME! At your feet! Centrally located at the steps of The Pantheon, this hotel could not have been better located. The staff were so kind, friendly and eager to help with what you need. I don't make it a habit of writing reviews unless I really am in love with something. When I say that I love it, I say it from the bottom of my heart. When you arrive to this location the first thing you notice is the humongous Pantheon looming over the square. There is a large fountain that lights up at night and the square is full of music and people. Then you have this building. Elegant, artistic, simple and easy on the eyes. When you walk in, you are greeted by some of the nicest, kindest, warmest people Roma has to offer. They laugh with you, they share with you, they befriend you. It's not stiff or boring or all business all the time. They take good care of their clients and at the same time offer amazing suggestions and take the time to really get to know you. They share their magic with you. This place is like Disney land, the happiest place on earth. The hotel is clean, offers fresh breakfast, they are accommodating, the price was great for the location (center of the city, 15 minutes from everything) everyone is excellent. If i could give it 10 stars, I probably would. I highly recommend this venue. If ever in Rome, this is the first great choice you get to make! read more

Stayed 10 nights in 2nd time Rome during August. Very elegant yet friendly hotel in a superb location. Loved the gold color of furnishing of our twin room and excellent bathroom amenities. On a previous visit to Rome also in a summer, we had stayed at a different hotel hidden on a back street near Forum, and although the hotel was lovely, we had to walk 'a lot' to reach anywhere for both sightseeing and food. We learned having a base in center of the town was crucial especially in summer heat like Rome's. Albergo del Senato is so easy to come back to have a rest in the hot afternoon, still enjoy the vibrancy of the town outside windows, and step out again to grab snack or dinner. Plenty of choices of gelato, cafe, restaurant, and small shops in walking distance to every direction, and walking these cobbled paths from the hotel is very enjoyable itself. We made reservation from the hotel website. Requested a twin room on a higher floor facing into the front columns of Pantheon, and they immediately emailed us and confirmed that they would have the room ready. The view from our windows was excellent, the front desk cheerful and respectful. We were so glad to have chosen this hotel, and will definitely go back. read more

We recently spent six nights at the sublime Albergo del Senato. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Julia, we knew this hotel was special. Every single employee of this hotel was amazing from front desk, Bellman, Housekeeping, to the Bartender with his "orange twist" on the classic Spritz! Kudos to whomever is in charge of staff selection, you have done a wonderful job. The common spaces are not common at all, they are gorgeous. And the rooms, are even better! Possibly the most beautiful bedding we have ever experienced in a hotel room, along with an extremely comfortable bed. The bath was completely on par with everything else in the hotel. In room safe, closet space and mini fridge all helped make this a memorable stay. The hotel is conveniently located on the Piazza della Rotonda, and our room looked out on the 2000 year old Pantheon. Michelangelo once said The Pantheon looks like it was the work of angles, I can't imagine a more breathtaking view. Good little hotel with a fantastic location. Service was excellent. Breakfast is typical Italian hotel but the coffee is tailored to American taste (a little disappointment since I prefer stronger). Room was reasonably sized and very comfortable. The only negative I have to say is that their rooftop terrace closed ridiculously early, especially given the view of the Pantheon they had and we ended up going over to the Minerva a block away to sit on their bar. Otherwise, can comfortably recommend this hotel. read more

The staff were amazing and professional. They have a great rooftop that we were able to use even in January. We just bought a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers and had the roof all to our selves and got to see some of the most amazing views I've ever seen! I hope one day to stay here again. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved everything. Our room was 307, on the corner of the building with a view of the Pantheon, so close it felt like we could touch it. Every staff member of the hotel was helpful and friendly. The location can't be beaten. We were able to walk to most every tourist spot. When we didn't feel like walking, a taxi stand was within yards of the hotel's front door. Breakfast was included in the room rate - a basic spread of meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, juices, fruit, and an egg dish, and good strong coffee served with a smile. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If I had to say anything negative, it'd be that the firmness of the mattress was a bit too firm, and we referred to our bed as "the rack" by the 3rd night, but that's probably just me being picky. Great hotel. Great location. Great hotel staff. I'd book again in a heartbeat. read more
