This was where we stayed for our Roman adventure, and I couldnt be happier. It is located near almost all of the major attractions, so we could walk almost everywhere. There are many restaurants nearby as well. The room was beautiful, with many amenities, a comfy bed, and huge windows that opened up to let in some of that wonderful fresh air. The staff were outstanding! Helpful and all extremely pleasant. The restaurant was really nice. We ate dinner there our first night and we had breakfast there two of the days we stayed. The breakfast is a little confusing, as you can pay in advance for the buffet, or pay the day of, or you can order off the menu. It wasnt all clear at first how that worked. The whole hotel is really nice and clean, very well decorated, and I also enjoyed the nice covered patio for the smokers. read more

Not as nice as they want you to believe. It seems like a high end hotel from the lobby and restaurant but in reality not so much. Our room was not ready until almost an hour after check-in, and we booked the annex, which is just not great. The shower was offensively bad. It was clogged or something and you basically were being pelted with water droplets. There is a terrace on the 5th floor of the annex with a view of absolutely nothing and chairs that are covered so you can't get to them. The location is good, as it's only 10 minutes walk from the Colosseum. read more

REVIEW: Below is a letter I sent to the hotel directly, the managing company and American Express. I have received no response from the hotel and I had to pay the entire bill. I've spent months trying to get compensation for the horrible service, to no avail. So I am left with writing this review: From the moment we checked in, I made multiple good-faith efforts to address serious issues with our room, most notably the air conditioning, which never functioned properly despite repeated reports and technician visits. Summary of Issues * Air Conditioning - Repeatedly Misrepresented: After the first sleepless night, I reported that our room was not cooling. Over the next two days, I was repeatedly told the problem had been "fixed," yet the temperature never dropped anywhere near the requested 19 °C. A technician later stated the issue was with the hotel's central system rather than our specific room. At breakfast, two guests told me their air conditioning worked, while others in their party did not have working A/C--indicating inconsistent functionality across the hotel. When I asked the front desk to move us into the room of a guest who was checking out and confirmed their A/C worked, I was told that room was an executive category and we could only move there by paying for an upgrade. * Lighting and Noise: Our room faced an alley with motion-activated lights that switched on and off all night, making it impossible to sleep without an eye mask. Even fully drawn curtains failed to block the light. * Service and Housekeeping Issues: A room-service tray remained in the hallway for more than 13 hours. Repeated requests for robes were not fulfilled until the second day. When I requested an ice bucket, I was handed a large trash-bin-sized container rather than a proper bucket. Throughout the stay I communicated repeatedly with the front desk, both in person and through follow-ups, and they can attest to multiple conversations about these issues and my continued attempts to have them resolved. Despite this, I received inconsistent explanations and assurances that the A/C had been fixed when it had not. read more

Think twice before staying here. Per the general manager's request, I sent an email with details about our stay. Here is a copy: 'Two nights ago, our family had drinks in the bar around 1030pm, I think. My daughters were hungry and the kitchen was closed so I looked up information about finding take out on my phone but wasn't sure if there were other options I missed in my search. I walked over to the front desk - there were two men there. I said "Excuse me, could I ask a question?" to the younger one who was looking at his phone. When I asked him for help finding a place nearby for French fries, he told me that I should search my phone. I let him know that I had done this already, and because it was late and I'm unfamiliar with the area, I wanted to see if there were other recommendations. He told me to use google to look it up myself and he would not find anything more than what google would tell me. I explained that I had done that already. He then said go to Burger King or McDonalds. I said that wasn't a favorite choice and asked if he knew of other restaurants and he said no. I asked if he could look online to help and he did then and laughed and said it's only Burger King or McDonalds. He was short and dismissive and quite honestly rude. I had to beg for help and it was limited. Please feel free to check your CCTV camera footage to confirm this interactions highlighted that. I think I could overlook a few things about our stay but this interactions with the front desk highlighted the low value we received for this hotel - it was disappointing and uncomfortable. A few additional things: the phone in our room did not have a cord so we couldn't call the front desk, there were no lights in the main room (no overhead or plug in) so dark in the room after sunset at 430pm, room service woke us up the morning of 12/22 coming early to clean, the 2nd floor area seemed under construction in our hallway and entry with several extra doors unattached and balancing against frames, and dirty laundry and cleaning supplies out in the open visible 24/7. Just too many negatives to mention for a hotel advertising high quality. I could add more, these are a few examples.' Tried resolving this during our stay and afterward to no avail. What a great spot! Easy walking distance to Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, and colosseum. The room was larger than expected with a European king bed that is just massive. The bathroom was the smallest thing though. You sit on the toilet and are basically on top of the TP. The shower was tiny even for moderate built people. I had to turn sideways to the water to wash my hair without bumping my elbows on the sides. If you are on the large size, you will not fit in the shower. Overall, I would stay here again for the location and right price. read more

The Rome Times Hotel is centrally located and has a good modern feel with polite and helpful staff. The room was a good size with king king-size bed, in room fridge, and a good-sized bathroom. The water pressure was incredible and the water was nice and hot! The rain shower head was fantastic. The room had air conditioning which was needed. Our room was on the second floor and was very quiet. We made the choice to purchase breakfast two mornings and it was very nice. A buffet with fresh fruits, eggs, meats, cheeses and delicious pastries. One evening we grabbed a bottle of wine and a pizza from across the street and brought it to the upper balcony on the sixth floor. A very nice view, was quiet, and we had the entire area all to ourselves! We were able to walk most of the central district area. The room could use attention to the base boards - they needed some paint and scuff marks on the floors - this did not stop us from enjoying our time. read more

The Rome Times Hotel is centrally located (perfect for meeting, and then far exceeding your Apple Watch step goals) and has a modern feel with a great staff and plenty of amenities. The closest Metro station is a nine minute walk away, and Roma Termini is about 15 minutes away on foot as well. We explored a lot of Rome, and walked everywhere except for when we took the Metro to the Vatican, solely in the interest of getting to our tour on time. The room was surprisingly big, the king size bed was comfortable, and we had a nice second floor view of the street below. The rooms look and feel new, and and have large, flat screen TVs, very nice furniture, and even a chaise lounge to relax on. The bathroom was tight (no big deal)--but the water pressure and rainfall shower head were AMAZING. Breakfast is awesome and is included in your stay. Cappuccinos routinely appeared in front of us minutes after we sat down, and the buffet included breads, eggs, quiche, meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, and some pastries. The same breakfast area turns into a nice lounge at night, and offers food, plenty of wine, and (of course), some more meats and cheeses. There is a gym in the main building (floor -1) with two treadmills and an all in one machine--don't expect a full workout but it'll do the job. There is also a roof garden and a small, covered outdoor area (nice since it was on the main floor perfect to lounge in). The WiFi is free, but very slow (1.87/0.66 on speedtest), so I used my cell connection instead. Overall, this was a great choice for our stay in Rome. Close to everything, modern, comfortable, and safe. One warning: they don't turn the A/C on until April 15th, so until then it's either heat or whatever comes through the window. We weren't in the room most of the day when it was in the mid 70's so it wasn't a huge deal, but I'm a cold sleeper so the first few hours after we got back at night were just a tad warm. read more

Location : Great location , I can't say enough about how central and beautiful this place is and so clean and well kept. If I could go back though I would stay closer to the Trevi Fountain , meaning a hotel with a view of it because I was absolutely obsessed with it. That said , the location from this hotel there was less than 10 minutes. Hotel/Service: It's a small beautiful hotel. From the moment you walk in you are met with friendly staff , great decor , clean environment and it smells so good. I truly appreciated the good service especially after being treated poorly in lost other locations throughout Rome. The Rome Times is a certain archetype of city hotel. The kind that is somehow affordable and hip looking, but then when you get there you realize half their business model and vibe is keeping all of the lights half-dimmed so you don't notice the scuff marks and peeling wallpaper. Also, I know Romans have a reputation for being a little mean to tourists but boy oh boy was the night clerk grumpy when we arrived to check-in on a Monday night. My aunt asked for a second key for her room and he acted like he'd just been asked to transcribe the dictionary by hand. So, granted, a bad first impression. The clerks the next day were helpful enough when we needed to arrange an airport car and print a few pages. Now listen, it's not exactly a dump per se, it's just "a little dingy" as my wife put it. There are better values to be had in the city. Also, the restaurant bar is rather nice and we had a lot of fun there whether it was time for a nightcap or an aperitivo before going out. I think the bar was the hotel's saving grace for us. This could be a taste thing too. Some people like that dark vibe. read more

This such a gorgeous place and a pretty good location. So why the low score? Attitude, attitude, attitude. The people here were not accommodating or helpful at all. I mean to the point I would never stay here again. Our cruise ship broke down and stranded us in Barcelona. I did my damndest to reach the hotel to extend our current stay. I tried by phone, email, FB, and LinkedIn to contact them. The first response came from FB and it was generic feedback. In my message I made it abundantly clear that I needed a phone call from them to extend our stay. I never heard from them. We booked elsewhere and I am VERY happy we did. The other place we stayed had top notch service. We also sent emails about shuttles and other items. When we would call to talk to them about this they would say you need to send us an email. Our only reply was how many emails does it take for you to respond? We sent emails for over a month with no reply. There was a lot of communication on our side with only verbal agreements and even a promise on their end to follow up. They didn't. It made planning very difficult. Fortunately, our other hire in Rome helped us with everything with almost no notice. I'm talking about one or two people. There were multiple phones calls over several months with no help and poor attitudes. At first my GF was handling this. I said let me try. I had the same problems. They did at least reply to me via FB. Eventually they began answering my emails, but too late to help. They still have not responded to my GF emails and I verified she sent them to the right place. Annoying! We enjoyed the room, but it is dark in there. It's spacious for a European hotel. The location is pretty good. If you don't need to talk to the hotel about anything you might enjoy it here. read more

This is my third time staying at a Times Hotel and as always it's a pleasure. The rooms are modern, clean and very well kept, you get what's promised on the website !!! The only draw back is if you get a room in the annex. Visiting in the winter the use of the gym is challenging as you have to bundle up, there's no direct access from one Bldg to the other. If you need a taxi, breakfast anything you have to venture out to the main building for all services. The gym facility really needs some updating two treadmills and a small weight machine truly aren't sufficient. If in Rome and truly want a good priced, well kept hotel centrally locates than this is the place for you !!! read more

We stayed 3 nights at the Rome Times Hotel in June. Its on a not too busy street and is very modern and clean. Located conveniently to most sites, walking distance to everything except the Vatican. The Republica metro stop is also just a 10 minute walk. They'll check your bags if you arrive before check in and they have a spacious lobby bathroom to change and freshen up, which was very convenient. The restaurant/bar area downstairs is very well done. We got complementary breakfast with our stay and they did a great job. Lots of fresh fruit, yogurt bar, assorted pastries, hot foods and cereals. Cappuccino and espresso were made to order. The wait staff was very friendly. The rooms were a nice size and nicely furnished. The air conditioning worked very well (it was pretty hot out while we were in Rome). Free Wifi. Another great offering is that your first mini-bar use is free! When I began my Rome hotel search, I looked at a bunch of different ones in different locations. We wanted to be in a central location that was within walking distance to the major sites. I was also warned beforehand not to stay anywhere near the Termini. We finally settled on the Rome Times Hotel, which is located 15 minutes from the Trevi Fountain and 20 minutes from the Colosseum. It's also walking distance to the Pantheon as well! We arrived before check-in time and they held our luggage while we went exploring. Upon returning later in the afternoon, they had someone show us to our room. Our luggage was already waiting for us! We stayed in a mini-suite in the annex building, which is just down the block from the main building. The room was very big and very clean. The first mini-fridge use is complimentary, which was really nice. They also give you toothbrushes your first night, which is something they definitely do not do in the US. We had picked the one king bed and one single bed configuration - my single bed turned out to be the couch, which wasn't a huge deal. It was quite comfortable for the couch! The shower head had excellent water pressure, which was a big plus. Hair dryer was sufficient. The only bad thing I can say about the hotel is the lighting inside the room - super dark at night! The front desk crew was always helpful and very nice - we had them call us a taxi a few times and they were able to liaise with our pre-booked transfer to Civitavecchia Port when they arrived early for pickup. I would definitely not hesitate to stay in the Rome Times Hotel again if I'm in Rome (Which I expect I will since I threw a coin into the Trevi Fountain!). read more

However, after you have experienced the best its impossible to be satisfied with anything less than magnificent. I am comparing my stay with a superb hotel in Barcelona named Hotel Duquesa de Cardona. Rome Times Hotel is one of the best hotels I've ever been to. Here you can experience how the Roman life of Augustus or Trajanus must have been, but then in modern times. The hotel is with no doubt the most renovated hotel in the city of Rome. The interior is very luxurios but very warm. It has a very nice atmosphere and all people of the staff are such loving people. In particular the lobby boys. The rooms are very luxurios too, with very(!) comfortable king size beds and rain showers. It was very clean and they make up your bed very neat every day. There is a fine mini bar and the first night the water is for free! The breakfast is the best breakfast we had during our two week vacation in Italy. It had everything: normal bread, sweet bread, fruit, eggs, sausages. vegetables, yoghurt and any kind of drinks. You definitely have to try the cappuccino in this hotel. We drank this every morning and when we visit the best coffee bar in the city we discovered that they tasted the same. This means that you can drink the best cappucchino here every morning! I've had the best time thanks to this hotel and if that's even't enough. We received a jar of cookies when we checked out. Just so sweet! Many thanks! read more

Stayed here while in Rome during Christmas week. The hotel and room were very nice and had a modern feel. The room was a good size, didn't feel as small as in other places we stayed in Europe. The staff was helpful whenever we needed any help. Our only dislike was that we had no control of AC/heat. It was winter and cool outside, but the room felt a little stuffy without air circulation. We were allowed to open the huge window in the room, but it was very noisy outside when we did so. The hotel was in a good location. There were several restaurants, shops, train station, etc. nearby and we were able to walk almost everywhere we visited in Rome. Overall we wouldn't mind staying here again. read more

I recently had the opportunity to visit Rome, and throughly enjoyed my stay at the Rome Times Hotel. There were so many aspects of this hotel that made my visit to Rome truly special and enjoyable. I feel that many of the other hotels around today should model their behavior and customer service over that of the Rome Times Hotel. We initially chose this hotel because of its location and proximity to many of the attractions that Rome has to offer. This was my first visit to the city, and this hotel was in an ideal and centralized location. Many of the most popular sites in Rome were within walking distance of the hotel location and not more than a few minutes walk (even in the rain), such as the beautiful Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon. The Colosseum was also close by, but we personally opted to take a tour because we wanted to learn more about the history of some of the historical locations that are present. Apart from the amazing location of this hotel, was the phenomenal staff that was present to help us with any questions or anything that we needed help with at all. We were always greeted with a friendly "hello" from the moment that we checked into the hotel, and they do a great job of remembering who you are. For example, when we got back to the hotel after a tour, they would ask us how it went and what we thought about the experience. Every night, they would call our room to ask us if we needed anything and to make sure that our stay there was going okay. Little steps like this show how much a business truly cares about its customers, and it really made a positive impact on our stay. The decor and the rooms itself were also very modern and beautiful. There were hard wood floors in the room, and ours came with a balcony with a stunning view overlooking the city. There was plenty of space in one room for a group of four people. The bedding was also quite comfortable and allowed for a nice rest after a long day outside. Another amazing part of this hotel is that they serve a complementary breakfast with your stay for every morning that you are there. It was a buffet breakfast that was served near the bar area of the lobby, but very convenient because you wouldn't have to worry about going out and looking for somewhere to eat first thing in the morning. There were a nice selection of breads, juices, meats, cheeses, and cereal that were available to us. It definitely made the stay all the more enjoyable. Overall, I would love to come back here again if I have the chance to return to Rome, and I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends or family members who are planning a visit! This was the last stop of our four city Europe trip so I was not in the most patient mood. We traveled from the train station by subway to the closest stop to our hotel. It was not as simple as some of the other cities we went to but after we finally reached the hotel I was more than happy. The room was perfect size with a nice large shower with a rain style shower head, my favorite. The first round of mini-fridge treats were complementary which was very nice as we used them as snacks on our walks out in the city. It was not the most amazing view but being tucked away from the main street was ideal as it was nice and quiet. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was a large spread and was very tasty! The location is pretty good. It appears to be a very safe area. We traveled by public transportation and although the buses were extremely undependable I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable walking around. There were a few food places near by that we really enjoyed but generally we traveled to other areas to eat. I would highly recommend this place. read more

Overall, our 2 stays were good. This is a small, boutique hotel, which is clean, attractive and very conveniently located. The hotel staff are all polite, professional and welcoming. The rooms are on the small side, have the worst lighting I've ever seen in a hotel of this class, but do have comfortable beds. Breakfast, which was included consisted of a buffet in a nice area across from reception. The buffet was mediocre. They ran out of things requiring guests to notify them several times, which is not professional. The assortment offered was good, however. I noticed comments in other reviews about difficulty contacting the hotel. They are 100% true. Once you book your reservation it was my experience there was no way to reach them other than through email, which could take quite some time to receive a response back. One would think a Rome hotel would have a toll-free number for worldwide contact. read more

Our first trip to Rome as we were prepping for a cruise on the med sea and we found this place on expedia and knew the location looked good but had no idea how FANTASTIC this hotel would be!!! We stayed 2 nights prior to the cruise and 2 nights post and it was fabulous! Very clean! Great restaurant for evening with cool setting and a wonderful breakfast buffet. Modern yet cozy! I cannot recommend this hotel more and i will admit im super picky and freaked out about hotels. Might i add the front desk employees were very very courteous and helpful and spoke English nicely. The location is centralized to the ruins and Trevi fountain and the wine! They must have a hundred different types of wine or more. The breakfast is fantastic too. Stayed at both the Rome Times Hotel and their sister Rome Life Hotel (located around the corner) during recent stay in Rome. Both hotels have identical modern decor, breakfast service, amenities, renovated rooms. Complimentary snacks and water/soda/juice provided (small fridges in each room). There was a safe provided that was large enough for laptop computer. Wi-fi was free and reliable. Breakfast was also provided daily; the spread was amazing and delicious - eggs, bacon, sausage, meats, cheeses, freshly baked bread and pastries, cereal, pancakes, fresh vegetables and fruit, cappucino/espresso, etc. Rome Times Hotel had smaller rooms with smaller beds. Fabulous bathroom with tub and rain shower, toilet and bidet. Rome Times also was on a noisier street and the noise from the bar carried up the stairway to the rooms. Rome Times room rate was about $75 cheaper than Rome Life. Would rate the Rome Times a 4 star and Rome Life 5 star. Both hotels are centrally located near major tourist attractions and the train station, but in a quieter neighborhood away from the tourist and bar crowds. read more
