Their selection is very comprehensive: ranging from Western superhero comics, to alt comics to manga horror. The store is very clearly divided, so the monthly comics are stored on one wall and the trade paperbacks and hardcover editions in the rest. I really enjoyed the minimalistic design: the white walls emphasize the colorful volumes much like a gallery space would its artwork. The clerk on duty was pleasant and helpful as several people came and went in the short time I was there. Comics are typically priced by publisher, so it's unlikely you would be surprised by the price of any of the inventory. Will definitely return.

If you haven't gone here you need to go. I wish I stayed there longer, but I was on a strict schedule. The atmosphere is creative and welcoming, with a cool artistic vibe that makes browsing so much fun! The staff clearly knows their stuff and are passionate about books and art. The store was super clean , well organized and easy to navigate through, when with such uniqueness. Overall experience was so unique, I wish i had more time to enjoy the cafe, games and books. Plan on staying here for at least an hour. I love this place! Found it by accident.

When the urge to buy comics struck, I would default to the Pasadena stores - you know the ones - and man was that a mistake. I used to be an avid collector in the 90s, and Bali Books in Alhambra was my sanctuary. Every other store, no matter how good the selection, just felt impersonal. I recently decided to start reading issues in real time instead of waiting for TPBs, and of course that meant I needed a pull list. One stop at Comics VS Toys and dammit I feel like a 12 year old all over again. The owner, Ace, immediately took my requests and helped fill in some recent back issues I missed out on. Luckily my current list is staggered and I have a legitimate excuse to pick up my stack every week. And the staff is awesome, like your favorite neighborhood bar tenders. See ya next week! Of course the best time to go to make sure they have it in stock are Wednesdays. VIntage comics can be found in bins, the wall, or the front case near the register. CGC slabs are also on hand. Prices are usually on par with the market. Just ask Paul and the rest of the crew for anything you need, they're pretty knowledgeable and willing to help. Comic supplies are also available for those in need. Parking is limited to street parking and the surrounding residential area, but it's never too far a walk. Highly recommended comic shop in the Burbank area.

(We actually went into the place because our grandson loves Pokémon cards.) My husband and a store employee together helped our 5-year/ old grandson find something he really liked. I looked after his younger brother ( almost 3 year old) while he scampered around the store trying to touch all the displays. Fortunately almost all the colorful items were in glass covered display cases. The thing I loved was that at the checkout stand there were free items such as catalogs and sheets of stickers for the children. The prices are high, but probably that is the case with all the places that sell these popular collectibles.
