    Choco cake
    Boris L.

I'm a Bolivian with Argentinian family members looking for a good Argentinian place in Wisconsin and this place just opened. The food: I got a choripan. The choripan was huge, it had tomatoes and lettuce that tasted fresh. The choripan itself was not spicy (even though I like spicy) but it was really good. I also got a beef empanada. It was tasty and a great price for the size. Lastly, I got the choco cake, it was delicious. The service was amazing, really attentive and they were very friendly. The decorations made you feel like in a small restaurant in Argentina. Lastly, they announce they'll be showing the World Cup 2026, so it's a must if you're Argentinian and/or Uruguayan.

Lomito pampa with fries. Empanadas for scale. Delicious!

The cost is very reasonable and the food is exceptional. As a matter of value, this is the best restaurant in Madison.

First time here. We were on our way up north and stopped in for a hot beverage. It's part of a…read moresmall strip mall on the west side, with a few metal café tables for outdoor seating. Inside is a large area with plenty of seating, plus some additional rooms for groups to meet. We received a friendly greeting and helpful service at the counter. I ordered my usual London Fog (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam), and they did a great job preparing it. I also ordered a Cranberry Orange Scone, which they warmed up. After a few minutes (to allow the tea to steep), both items were ready. The London Fog was excellent -- flavorful, balanced, and not overly sweet. The scone, however, was disappointing; though warmed, it tasted dry and stale. Two other issues detracted from the visit. Much of the furniture looked worn and past its prime, and there were flies throughout the space that were a constant distraction. Overall, the experience was underwhelming. While the beverage was very good, the food quality and atmosphere would keep us from recommending or returning.

But this place is a gem , coffee drinks are excellent, the food has so much flavor , I chose one of their breakfast burritos and wow was that delicious , the yogurt dish was simply but had granola and berries to knock it out of the park , the eccentric atmosphere give you a kid friendly atmosphere and a cozy grandmother's place with mismatch furniture and scruples g rooms for those damn kids people bring to breakfast

Butterbird, I'm honestly offended we found you this late into our Madison trip…read more This place was an absolute 10/10 across the board! Vibes? immaculate. Service? incredible. Food? life-changing fried chicken, cheese curds, and cocktails that I'm still not over. Environment? somehow cozy and cool at the same time. This is the kind of place that feels way too unique to ever become a chain... which is devastating news because I desperately wish there was one in Kansas City. And honestly, that's probably why it's so special. It feels deeply Madison in the best way- intentional, high quality, and focused on doing their thing really, really well. Also, shoutout to Ian, the manager, who was amazing and made an already great experience even better with trinkets! Anyway, if you need me, I'll be emotionally processing the fact that we only got to eat here once. Can't wait to come back!

Overall, nothing to write home about, but nothing bad. I ordered the Butterbird Classic (fried chicken sandwich) but removed the pickles. I got the sauce on the side. I'd been worried the lettuce would overtake the chicken, but it was a very small amount of lettuce that really had no impact either way on the sandwich. The chicken thigh was a decent size and cooked very nicely. There wasn't much to it, it didn't really have much flavor, but again it wasn't bad at all. I tried one bite without the sauce, then added a small amount of sauce. It's got a dill vibe going on which I dislike, so I did not add any more, but the sauce did help with some flavor. My co-worker got her sandwich with the sauce on it, and it was also a very small amount of sauce. On the side, I got way more sauce and gave the rest of mine to her. She used almost all of it.   I also got the French fries with my order. They were good fries where I did not feel any need to use ketchup with them. We all commented that they reminded of us McDonald's fries, but obviously a little bit more gourmet. Another coworker got the coleslaw instead of fries, and said that it was good but way less substantial than the fries. So, the food didn't live up to the hype, and I'm not sure I'd spend the money again, but I do really want to try their Old Fashioned on Tap... so I might have to go visit in person when I'm not working and get another order.
