As a revision to a previous review, I'd have to say that the dining experience at Taco Loco has progressively declined in recent months. The first few times the service was fast, friendly, and the food quality was O-K for a Mexican Dive. Recently however, the service has slowed down and even food quality is now inconsistent. Today's experience was a testimony to their decline: We waited over a half hour before the lady communicated that they hadn't even started preparing the food. Consequently, we ran out of time and had to leave without eating. There are plenty of Mexican options in Lompoc to have to put up with this. Easily 2-stars! read more

Well unfortunately since this place has re-opened I find it to be way over priced for their products and the serving size. My friend and I ordered some burrito's for each of us and mine was vegetarian adding guacamole! The cost was almost $28.00!!!!!????? Never again! Will go back to Super Grill or Floriano's from now on. read more

Taco Loco is consistently good food at great prices. Everyone who works there is always so friendly. I personally love their chili rellenos, asada nachos cannot be beat, chili verde omelette best in world (get hash browns). Another fav is shredded chicken taco salad. I went to this place just for some tacos and was all excited to see the expertly presented tray of tacos cuz so without awesome taco for days, unfortunately not so great. There was grissle in all kinds the meat and no flavor in sauce . I decided to give another chance later that evening cuz now want burrito, again t'was not so righteous. The size of the $7 burrito was an insult to Mexican food and Mexican kitchens everywhere, so I ordered the big one, whatever it was called, it cost $12. Yeah boy, was it big, and with fresh ingredients, and with all the pork, and lots of beans, it was mostly beans. And btw the salsa verde sucked as predicted more like tomatillo sauce. Work takes me to Lompoc just a few times a year, if that. Today had the $5.99 lunch special which includes a soda and consists of a plate of good rice and refried beans and your choice of either a crunchy taco or enchilada. Even though this doesn't sound like much, i was actually stuffed. The enchilada was shredded beef, a very generous portion, covered in a flavorful red sauce and melted cheese. No chips come with the food, which is disappointing, but there is a squirt bottle of slightly sweet, quite spicy salsa on the table. Next time I'm in town, I would definitely return and have the crunchy chicken taco lunch special. read more

We went to the Taco Loco #2 on Central next to Verizon. I think out of the several Mexican restaurants in the area, this might be the best one. Its small, definitely not fine dining, but if you just want great, authentic Mexican, this is it. Great pricing, quality food. Really good breakfast burritos, we got 4 cherizo and egg, 4 bacon and egg and 2 orders of hash browns for about $35.00 and believe m i was more than enough food for 5 people. The people there where really nice but they can get pretty busy on saterdays. read more

Very consistently good. I have to say that after coming here for over 15 years (a couple of those were under the previous owner), this might well be Lompoc's best Mexican restaurant. We're always good for a carnitas torta but I venture into the fish tacos every once in awhile. It's all good. Breakfast burrito can put you in the hospital. First, it's cozy and the staff are helpful and friendly. Second, I challenged them food-wise as I have favorites at another restaurant. So far, they 2 for 2 of my favorites. I walked in for a bottle of water, then after seeing the open kitchen and how clean and nice the place is, I thought I'd try a little something. I had the grilled chicken taco and it was super delicious. The sauce was just the right amount of heat and flavor to complement the tender chicken, the corn tortillas were toasted a little bit wich added more texture. The service was excellent, the lady at the register was so great she could train people on customer service, she was very courteous, smiling and built report with customers. read more
