I heard about Sano Pecado on Yelp! Therefore, it was on my radar when I went on a stroll through Solvang with my boyfriend. Despite the somewhat cool weather, my boyfriend and I happened to go to Solvang on a day that was quite warm. Naturally, we were a bit parched when we happened to be near Sano Pecado. We decided to stop in for a drink. There was a young man working behind the counter that immediately let us know that we could have a free sample of any of the drinks that caught our interest. We tried a couple and decided to get the cucumber lime agua fresca. It came out right away. Once my boyfriend and I were outside, we got to sipping it. I thought the drink was cool and refreshing! I honestly don't have any complaints about it! As the name suggests, it had the flavor elements of cucumber and lime. If you have been filling up on too many Danish pastries and baked goods while in Solvang, and would like to have something a bit healthier, and not too heavy, the Acai Bowls at Sano Pecado are a great option! I had the Healthy Pecado #1, which has more of a tropical taste per the person working there. It has Acai, mango, banana, apple juice, coconut milk, topped with hemp granola, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, coconut shavings, & honey. They are rather large bowls, with 24 ounce or 32 ounce options. We paid a little more and had them split it in two bowls to share. I've only had Acai bowls in Brazil, and had loved them. This is very good, as well. However, there was only a small amount of acai, which is usually the base. There was a lot of fruit. It was refreshing, tasty, and relatively healthy, without getting weighed down with a big lunch. I definitely recommend it, if it is the type of food you enjoy! They also make smoothies and infused water drinks, if on the go, and need some refreshment. There are no tables here. We sat at an outdoor area nearby at another establishment, as no one was using those tables, and they didn't seem to mind. In fact, many people seeing us eating them, went into the place where we were seated asking about the acai bowls, and then coming out and going into Sano Pecado. I met some friends here in good ole' Solvang in southern California. If you never been here to southern California, this small place is majestic and should be explored by travelers. It is reminiscent to "carmel by the sea" in Northern California off the west coast and pebble beach. If you have never been to either, I recommend to go to both places. Google it for pics. This specific acai place in solvang appears to be new as I have been to this location several times in the past. I would say about 10 times total give or take. The service was non existent as I placed my order on the interior machine as a transaction. However, when my friend and I received our products, it took over 15 minutes more than the estimated time to complete. It was pretty annoying to say the least. In total, about 25 minutes waiting for 2 products: acai smoothie and acai bowl. There was only 1 other customer in front of us who ordered one of the juices which took about 4 seconds total for them. The prices are pretty high for the products as well. I ordered the large 32 oz. Acai bowl and majority of the bowl was granola and the bottom was a small layer of acai. I don't know why it was so little for a high price of 17$ and I have had much bigger quantity and quality in taste at other similar locations. I can only assume that the reason for the hike is to catch up from missing income as a result of the COVID-19 a couple years ago. The smoothie was an acai blended one. I did t try it, but my friend said it was decent, but not amazing. The outside is among the many other side chain stores and is located on the intersection between the main road in Solvang and the end street. Solvang is small and it is easy to find on the map nearby. Overall, the quality of the products were decent, but the wait time and the price tag were disappointing, which deleted a star as the outcome. read more
