Well. Mind blown. We do not do much to our house but in the past the only requirement to say that a contractor was 'good', was that they were not a nightmare. Our neighbor suggested Toro Construction for a shared wall and hubby got a good impression when he got a quote. They did a good job, finished when they said it was going to be finished, and quickly took care of a couple of items that we brought to their attention afterwards. I was dreading this project but overall it was a great experience. I believe our neighbor was very happy too. My only complain is that they woke me up super early for those days, lol... Dan did work for me in 2009 block fence was happy with him then but he has changed over the years and now I am I unhappy customer with him because Dan came to give me a quote and measurement and then came back to give me a date for May 3rd 2021 he let me have my chain link fence moved because of that date and I'm 77 years of age and I also moved all the Rocks back for him to do a block fence around my front yard and he knew that and saw that. I had did all that work from 8 p.m. till 2:30 a.m. in the morning non-stop except for drinking water he gave the neighbor a card next door to me that is a problem maker Mel Benson and I told Dan ahead of time that he was a troublemaker. Dan knew this when he gave me a date Sunday. Dan told me on the phone that he was postponing my work for a couple days because of my creepy neighbor that has some problems and alcoholic. Then Monday I tried contacting Dan and he would not answer the phone to me or call me back whatsoever. until late that evening. I finally got ahold of him and he answered. Dan was nice on the phone but refuse to come and do the job I'm very disappointed with him . because he should never let someone else bully and be controlling over a job I hired him for. I regret having to put this review but I must be honest and I'm very disappointed with Dan Toro Construction I never thought Dan would treat me or any customer that way. We used Toro Construction to repair a section of stucco retaining wall that had caved in at my mother's condo complex. Dan's quote was very reasonable, the job was done within a week of accepting their quote, the crew that day was wonderful, and the end result is fantastic. Everything done as promised, quickly, and with great advice about aftercare from Dan. Will attach photos so you can see the end result -- you'll have to look carefully, as the pattern they created with the stucco is identical to the original, done decades ago. He called me back he scheduled a time that worked best for me he even waited for me because I got stuck in traffic and was running late to meet him at my house. He explained everything so thoroughly and made me feel so comfortable with my decision to go with his company. His guys were professional and did not mind my dog when she had to go to the restroom where they were doing their work even though she's a scary pitbull (sarcasm). Everything done as promised. 70'x8' with drainage and a gate. Dan gave me the lowest quote and we couldn't be happier. The job was done in two days and the guys were very respectful and kind to all my Pitbulls and no one escaped. I asked the construction crew to leave nearby sprinkler heads uncovered from dirt dug by the construction crew for wall footings. I discovered they disregarded what I asked and left the sprinkler heads covered under dirt. Also, a member of the crew communicated to me that the company would retrieve material they sent to the dump or would replace it if it could not be retrieved. The crew made a call on the phone and implied that they would resolve the issue. Later in the day, I met the owner, I also addressed the issue with the owner. At that point, the owner asked his crew member about this implication from his staff and the crew member denied ever telling me they would replace this material. The owner affirmed to me he would not resolve the issue and walked off from our discussion about a resolution. He left a sour taste in my mouth when he went to my neighbor, moments later, to put his words in my mouth as if they were mine to create a disagreement between us regarding this wall project. In any case, I am not pleased with how the owner handled the situation and I do not like that he threatened to tear the wall down. Furthermore, I feel disrespected when his crew decided to throw their beverage containers on the ground and leave them on my side of the wall. The owner should have reached out to me and introduced himself before the project and should have reviewed my concerns, since two parties are involved in this wall project. Therefore, these are some of the reasons why I would not recommend Toro Construction Company. read more

I needed to build a block fence to enclose the yard of my new house. The house had a large yard and I needed 230 ft of wall, Dan from Toro Construction met me at my house on time, provided me different options and was able to give me a really good quote on the spot. I was able to coordinate the wall construction to start right after some trees and oleanders were removed. His team arrived early everyday and in just three days my entire wall + gate were complete. I found Toro Construction through a neighbors recommendation on Nextdoor. I also read the Yelp reviews and searched through the registrar of contractors to make sure everything was good. We needed our old wood and chain link (2-layers of fence!) fence taken down and replaced with colored block with several good quality gates and knew it was going to be a big job (price-wise for us). I got a few quotes from different companies and no one could compete with Dan at Toro Construction on price and service. Dan was a pleasure to work with the whole way through. I wish I could write 10 stars on this, REALLY, It was SO EXCELLENT in every single aspect that they did! -From being the least expensive "by $2000.00 less from another companys quote" to having the best workers team I have ever seen. They put my mailbox up complimentary cemented the post in & the whole back yard was completed so fast with no mess! I was so amazed! Then I mistakenly thought the quote included my front fence panels that fell down, just to put them back up, Well, found out the quote didn't include that, but, no problem to Dan, I told him I tippped the workers $30.00 total because I was so grateful for them putting the mailbox up & the great job they did, Well, he said, if you tipped them, then they will be back out just to put that front panel fence up, And sure enough they were, on there own time!!! I have been remodeling a house and these guys put up a block wall for me. I got a couple of estimates first, Toro came in least expensive and were the most professional and easy to deal with. Dan came out to give an estimate when he said he would, told me the schedule, how the work would be done. Then on the agreed upon days the work happened. No trouble, no drama. The guys came and knocked it out and left. I didnt really need to be there. They placed the concrete for the foundation with reinforcement and placed rebar for the columns. They dug the foundation and placed the foundation the first day, built the wall the next day and installed the gates the third and were gone. The gates were custom made to fit the openings so there is no gap or strange filler from using pre-made gates. If you need a block wall built, these are the guys to do it. Its the best experience I have had dealing with contractors on this entire remodel. Cant say enough about how positive the experience was. read more
