DO NOT HIRE. 1. They use shady business practices to get high ratings. I was not allowed to see my final bill until I had posted a positive review on Yelp. Moreover, the movers insisted on reviewing my comments and taking selfies using my phone before I posted. Then, I wasn't allowed to see final charges before they ran my credit card and I didn't get an itemized invoice of the bill until after the movers had processed payment -- and even then I had to call and specifically ask before it was sent. 2. My bill was 5x higher than originally quoted. Yes, it took longer to move than estimated, so I expected some increase from the quote, but I was told there would be free wardrobe boxes in the quote email (they charged $25/per); I was forced to pay location travel even though they said I was local; and I had to pay for the movers' lunch break. When I called customer service they said that lunch was supposed to be off the clock, but aside from that one oral statement, nothing else was done about any of the costs. 3. They were clumsy in moving. Yes, they did bring a ton of Saran Wrap and covered all of the mattresses and couches as others stated, but they banged into the walls, bounced stuff off of the stair railings, and dragged instead of carrying several pieces of furniture across my wood floors leaving gouges. They pushed a bookshelf sitting on top of a screw that then gouged the whole floor. I was told "it'll buff out." Do you know how expensive it is to "buff out" wood floors?! They also didn't hang my clothes nicely in the wardrobe boxes and just threw everything everywhere without any consideration, crushing many of my dress clothes under random heavy objects. They also broke one bookshelf, drawers to a dresser, and lost the protective feet to exercise equipment. More importantly, they broke two expensive computer monitors--they were provided the original factory boxes with factory padding but threw the monitors into the boxes without any of the protective material, so essentially the monitors just rattled around in the boxes the whole time. And in their quest to figure out how much they could cram into the truck, many things were crushed. 4. Some of the movers had bad attitudes. I was told to go buy energy drinks because the soda I offered (for free) wasn't good enough. I kept getting told I had "too much stuff" and many snide remarks were made about my possessions. They played macho man games and dropped/threw/damaged items out of carelessness. They didn't put boxes where they should go even though we carefully labeled and color coded all of them. And they literally left a tornado of trash and missed items in their wake that took weeks to clean after. Not all the movers were bad in the crew, and some took pride in doing a good job. But I would still stay away. read more

I recently hired this team of movers to assist me with my relocation, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I cannot recommend this moving company enough! On the day of the move, the two movers, Dj and Carl, arrived right on time, displaying a high level of professionalism. They were well-prepared, equipped with all the necessary tools and packing materials. They took the time to assess my belongings and developed an efficient plan to load and transport everything safely. The movers were incredibly careful with my furniture and personal items. They handled each item and took extra care to wrap and protect fragile items. I was relieved to see how diligently they worked, as it gave me peace of mind knowing that my belongings were in safe hands. They loaded and unloaded my belongings very carefully and ensured that everything was placed exactly where I wanted it in my new apartment. In addition to their exceptional moving skills, the movers were friendly, approachable, and respectful throughout the entire process. They maintained a positive attitude, which made the stressful task of moving much more enjoyable. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better moving experience. The two movers went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. I am grateful for their hard work, attention to detail, and outstanding customer service. If you're looking for reliable, skilled movers who prioritize customer satisfaction, look no further. I highly recommend this moving company to anyone in need of a stress-free and seamless moving experience. Thank you Dj & Carl for making my move a success! read more

Used Tornado Movers this past Sunday to move from 1 bdrm apt to another location about 6 miles away. They gave me a really good quote (at least $10/hr LESS than other companies) and confirmed the day before. Andy and Gustove were fantastic, even with the crazy distance they had to walk to unload the truck, they happily and carefully completed my move with a smile. I would totally hire them again! Past experience: I've hired other movers in the past and had to TELL them to saran wrap certain pieces of furniture (such as my mattress and white couch) and they always pushed back telling me I would have to pay extra for the saran wrap and it would take up too much time. I've even had past movers cut themselves and bleed on my unwrapped white sofa.. needless to say I got rid of the white couch and didn't use them again. This experience: Andy and Gustove put blankets AND Wrapped ALL my furniture quickly and easily without me having to say anything. They disassembled and reassembled my furniture and help me put boxes into my storage closet. They have amazing spacial reasoning and knew what would fit and what wouldn't. Also, if you are moving to a location that is flat or has elevator access make sure you use their Speed Packs as its a super smart and fast way to move things! Overall, I would hire Tornado Movers again. The only thing I would've changed was to ask for 3 guys instead of 2. Not because of the movers, but because the new complex has tons of moving rules and the truck had to be parked PRETTY FAR Away. read more

Just moved from downtown Los Angeles to Long Beach and these guys were literally life savers! Best efforts notwithstanding, we were nowhere near ready on time and I was halfway panicked. Needlessly, as it turned out. They came in and went right to work; from the moment they arrived, my stress evaporated and I knew we were in good hands. Everything fell into place; they went right to work, knocking it out calmly and efficiently. I felt like they genuinely respected our timeline and our budget. Their demeanor is truly perfect: utterly professional, courteous, and diligent while also personable and genuinely pleasant to be around.. We couldn't be happier. Everything got to the new place exactly as it should, no damage whatsoever. I was really impressed with their attention to detail, they looked after our things as if they were their own, even taking the time to show us an unprotected nail on our headboard, explaining that they had covered it for safety but to watch out for it in the future. . Anyway, to cut a long story short, they were superb and made a potentially painful process, easy. . I couldn't be more pleased with the job they did! I hope to stay in this apartment for a long time but there's no doubt in my mind that next time I need to move, I'll be calling these guys. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Tornado Movers! After having three different moving companies cancel on me, I was stressed and worried about how I was going to get moved. Tornado Movers stepped in and came to my rescue. They were able to get a crew to me within just a couple of hours, which was incredible. Not only were they responsive and reliable, but they were also the most affordable moving company I found. Given the outstanding service they provided, the value was truly exceptional. Eliott and Renee were absolutely fantastic. They treated all of my belongings with great care, wrapping every single piece of furniture to ensure everything was protected during the move. They were professional, friendly, fast, and extremely efficient. What I thought would be a long, exhausting process was completed in less than three hours, and everything arrived safely and in perfect condition. Their teamwork and attention to detail were truly impressive. I am so grateful for how they stepped up when I was in a difficult situation. If you're looking for reliable, affordable movers who genuinely care about their customers and their belongings, I highly recommend Tornado Movers. Thank you, Eliott and Renee, for making a stressful day so much easier! read more

i contacted Tornado movers a couple of weeks before my move from Charlotte, NC, to Rock Hill, SC. They were professional and gave me the quote and answered my questions. The first thing I liked is that they responded to my calls or messages within minutes. On the day of the move they called to tell me exactly what time they would arrive and were there at that time. The two young men, Elliot and Eli were just fantastic! They took such good care of my belongings and they gave me a very accurate time estimate. They worked at a steady pace. They were pleasant and even fixed a couple of pieces of furniture which were already broken from another moving experience!! I just can't recommend these guys enough. I hope I don't have to move again for a while but if I do I fully intend to use these guys! One more thing which I consider very important, many movers have given a low estimate to get the business and then on moving day, the cost is actually $100-$200 more than expected. This has happened to me more than once. The estimate from these guys was slightly higher than the actual total cost. A very pleasant surprise!! Overall I'd rate this company and this crew in general a 5 of 5!! Wonderful job!! read more

We were stuck in closing limbo when selling our house and had to push several attempts to move. This resulted in trying to find movers at the last minute. Called around to several companies but there was either no availability or no response. Found Tornado, made the call and scheduled. Did not know what to expect since we hadn't used movers before. When the guys came out they surveyed what needed to move and began packing up immediately. They wrapped everything, they moved it all with care and had the truck loaded in around two hours. When we arrived, they had the truck unloaded very quickly. These guys rocked! Nick, Josh and DJ (MVP!) were professional, quick, and they had fun while getting the job done! My neighbor even made some pancake tacos for us all. I haven't found anything yet that was damaged and there was a ton of stuff that needed to be packed, wrapped and moved. They already had everything needed to ensure the safety of our junk. I would recommend the company as well as Nick, Josh and DJ to anyone needing moving services. Thank you Tornado and thank you gentlemen for making our move very easy!! read more

AGAIN, very pleased with the service provided!! Elliott, Steven, and Daquan each shook my hand and introduced themselves as they entered my home! Very respectful of me as a single female. They got the job done in a little over 2 hours! Great hustle from each of them, especially given they had to move me off the 3rd floor of my old apartment and onto the 3rd floor of my new apartment! (I felt so bad) but they kept moving and encouraged one another through jokes which had even me laughing. Went above and beyond in wrapping my belongings and ensure nothing got scratched or dented! Even the small gestures were genuinely appreciated. One thing that stood out to me was Elliott making sure my vacuum was one of the first things brought inside after I mentioned that I wanted to vacuum my bedroom before putting my bed in there. Once I finished vacuuming, he went the extra step and moved my bed from the living room into my bedroom for me. Thank you so much, Elliott, Steven, and Daquan! I truly appreciate your hard work, professionalism, kindness, and great attitudes throughout the entire move. Happy customer once again! read more

The team sent by Tornado movers led by Jadon - Ed, Antaion, Josh, Nick, Devaishiea, and Bernard -- were nothing short of astonishing! They were professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Customer service was incredible! In the blink of an eye, they moved 5300 square feet worth of huge furniture and all of our (family of 4) belongings while keeping everything organized and in pristine condition for our new home. All I can say is they did a fantastic job. My family and I have moved various times in various major metropolitan areas over the years, and this was the best job by far. They kept everything neat and organized. They labeled my boxes well. Nothing is broken. They were honest about what they thought would fit and not fit as well as what they thought could break if they moved it. They even approached me with valuables that we had accidentally left in one of the dresser drawers. I didn't know it was humanly possible to get such great movers. It is difficult to write this review because I am still in awe over what they accomplished. Simply miraculous! read more

Moving can be overwhelming, but Tornado Movers made the entire process smooth and stress-free. From the moment I contacted them, their team was professional, responsive, and accommodating. They provided a clear quote with no hidden fees, which gave me peace of mind. On moving day, Josh, Nick, and Medi arrived on time and worked with impressive speed and efficiency--true to their name, they moved like a tornado, but with extreme care. They handled my furniture and fragile items with precision, ensuring everything arrived at my new home in perfect condition. What really stood out was their friendly attitude and willingness to go the extra mile. Whether it was carefully wrapping delicate items, disassembling and reassembling furniture, or making sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it, their attention to detail was exceptional. If you're looking for a moving company that is fast, reliable, and professional, Tornado Movers is a fantastic choice. I highly recommend them for a hassle-free moving experience! read more

I'm not even the type to leave reviews but This company deserves the effort. The gentleman from Tornado Movers did a wonderful job on my cross state move from North Carolina to Ohio. This particular move felt a bit more complicated than the type of moves I'm sure they usually see. Within the span of a week they moved my mother out of state to an assisted care facility and my family ( also out of state) to a single-family home. The guys were all extremely pleasant, showed up on time, helped pack, and facilitated trash removal. I never heard one complaint, and in fact, in the span of the full week I never saw any of them take a break. They worked full power every time I saw them. I feel confident in saying if you choose this moving crew, they will handle your move with professionalism and care the way they have done mine. I'd like to shout out Nick, Elliot, Ace, Josh, Nico and Art. You all made an extremely stressful process much more manageable, and my family and I are grateful. read more

"Moving was Amazing", is something that is not normally stated but let me tell you that if you use Tornado Movers you will be Amazed! Jerred and Antonio were the BEST!! They simply impressed us! They were kind, helpful, VERY hard working , careful, efficient , on time and communicated well through the whole process! We unfortunately had not prepared a lot of the things to be moved due to a grueling working out of town schedule but they helped us SO MUCH to pack things quickly and safely where nothing would be damaged. They took care of our things and treated them with respect. We had to move 2 hours away and they even made it through some tough mountain roads in their truck, another impressive step here. They worked around some unforeseen events and still made this move so stressless! I cannot say enough good things about these guys....I normally hate moving but this has been a GREAT experience and would HIGHLY recommend them for sure!! Superhero Movers!! Thanks guys! read more
