Worst experience we have ever had, they held our items in Los Angles for 3 weeks before loading onto a truck. We only had the few items we drove across the Country with and had to get back to work. We had to make desks out of cardboard boxes since we had no furniture. I reached out daily and they would not respond. When they did finally arrive 4 weeks after packing up our home in California, the main guy rushed us and boxes were falling out of the truck, it was packed so tight. We are missing valuable items, broken items, I received other people's items. Stole cash out of my purse while I was on a business call. Quadrupled our quote and they will not refund a penny. Only wanted cash after the first deposit, I found out other moving companies do not require cash. They would not unload until I handed them the cash and then put 90% of the items in the basement even though they were all marked with specific rooms. I had to hall all the boxes up the stairs and put them in the correct rooms. We have been in NC for 6 months and I am still realizing more and more boxes they did not unload that were ours. I will never us a moving company again, I will take the time and pack a POD myself and get help from family and friends. Then I will know my items will make it safe. By the time they were done they charged us $20,000.00, our house in CA was 1400 sq feet. I would have been better off selling everything and starting over in NC and just brought clothes. We had the master bedroom, living room couch, dining room table & chairs and my husband's desk along with boxes of clothes, Christmas items and patio furniture. $20,000.00 pretty much broke us to get started over in NC. They will hold you hostage because they won't give you any $$ back once they give you the final quote. They expect you to know exactly how many boxes you will have on your first phone call. They never gave me a final bill to file with my tax guy, so I am having to sift through all my Zelle payments, cash withdrawals and proving to him what we paid. My son used a different moving company, and it increased $1000.00 form his first phone call, should have used them. Lesions learned the hard way. DO NOT USE THEM! THEY ARE THEIVES! First, this company should be called worst class movers. After I paid the cost to move, I was told they would need another 7000.00 to start. I was told by the broker the crew was professional and well trained. When to crew arrived, they were not professionals, but people picked up from the street. They had no idea on how to pack especially fragile pieces. Consequently, I had to follow them around and tell them how to pack fragile items. On several times I found them packing China by just stacking the pieces together with our packing material. As a result, several pieces of everyday and good China were broken. When I unpacked boxes, I found items just thrown in together with no packing to protect them. When they started on a Saturday, they were late and had seven people to pack when they told me they would return the next day they were three hours late and had half the people to complete the packing so they went and got people off the street who could not speak English. After waiting two weeks to get a delivery date they finally got moving. When the van arrived it was the driver and one person to unload what it took seven people to pack. As a result, thigs were not put in right areas or just piled up in the garage with boxes marked fragile on the bottom of stacks of boxes full of books. Highly recommend this company. My niece needed to moved only two large furniture pieces from my house to her condo. A loveseat and TV entertainment cabinet. All other movers she called around wanted to charged an arm and a leg or only have huge trucks to move a room full of furnitures which ends up costing thousands of dollars. I found this company, First Class Movers, and talked to the owner Anthony. Told him my situation and he charged us flat fee of only $225 to get the 2 furniture pieces from my house in Fort Mill, SC to my niece's condo in Charlotte NC. I had a terrible experience with this company. I had scheduled services a week in advance and hadn't gotten a confirmation on time or anything until I called back to double check, left a vm and then eventually got in contact the day before the move. The day of the move I got a call saying their truck broke down...long story short it wasn't the companies fault and they ran into some bad luck with a break in, but I was ensured that they would get a rental or fixed in a timely manner. I had to check in multiple times that day for an update. It wasn't until I called the 4th time that day (around 5pm...8hours after I was supposed to have moved) that I got confirmation a crew was wrapping up and they'd be with me after. I asked for an ETA, he said he would call his guys and check right back. I had to call again after an hour and a half of hearing nothing to cancel and schedule for the next day. Told them to call me first thing in the morning to confirm a time. Never heard from them. Just an absolutely terrible customer experience. I understand stuff happens and sometimes it's out of your control. But this was just poor poor communication the whole way through and they lost a customer because of it. read more

I had real high hopes for this moving company. My husband and I just moved to a new city after getting married the week before, and needed to have our POD unloaded. I reached out via Yelp and received contact information for Anthony (the owner). At first, communication was there, he worked with me because our POD was delayed. Once it got to the actual move in day, I was told that he (and his guys) would be there in the early morning afternoon. Once 11am rolled around, we didn't hear from him. I called and finally got an answer. He told me that his guys were on their way and would be there in an hour. And hour passes, nobody is here still. After playing the same song and dance for 5 hours, his moving guys (NOT HIM) call me and ask for my address and showed up at 6PM. Mind you, I've given Anthony my address along with explicit driving instructions to find our place. The guys get there, are already out of breath, and tired and sweaty. Turns out, they were notified 30 mins before arriving that they had another job to do (after moving 4 other households all day long!). The owner did not properly communicate with his workers that they had another job to do. The guys didnt know wether they were here to load or unload... Poor communication. Not only were the movers annoyed, so we're we! They DID NOT completely unload the POD like we were told by the owner they would within our 2hr window. They were too tired and sweaty (which I understand) to compete the job. Some of our items were drenched in sweat and got damaged on the stairs going up because the poor guys were just that exhausted. The owner then had the nerve to charge us full price for the incomplete unloading! The guys didn't even finish!!! This didn't seem like this was the first time this happened to these guys before... I requested a quote for packing and loading the truck (only) from several moving companies and Anthony from First Class Movers was the first to respond. He was also the most responsive and willing to help. He met with my husband at our home to assess our belongings. Anthony gave us a reasonable quote and was very transparent with the charges. What I was promised is NOT what I got. I was promised furniture pads to protect the home I moved out of. What I got were 72 new scratches and deep divots in the hardwood floors, and Anthony told me "don't tell the new owners, maybe they won't notice." I also had a light fixture half ripped off the wall in a staircase, and divots in the walls and front door. Anthony brought in a painter...who did not use the paints I gave him. I had to borrow a paintbrush from a neighbor to paint over whatever it was he used on the green wall. I was promised a chase vehicle that would carry our emergency generator, the gas cans, and other things that shouldn't go in a moving van. There was no chase vehicle. The movers threw the carefully-labelled boxes with stains and laundry detergents in with everything else. One bottle of bleach dumped out and destroyed multiple boxes of books. Which they say insurance refuses to pay for, since they didn't pack the boxes themselves. The webpage promises a stress-free move...what I got was a crew that put our furniture in rooms upside down - and refused to put it right-side up despite repeated requests. Several boxes were damaged. I walked in one room, and a box was shoved off the far side of the desk. I got a crew that refused to read the boxes and put them in the rooms as labeled. Almost 50% of the boxes were in incorrect rooms, and I had to carry boxes from the kitchen to the office, and the bathroom to the kitchen. Or for heavy boxes, I had to open them up, and individually carry items up and down stairs. And this crew had the nerve to ask about their tip when they were leaving. I was promised that my furniture would be carefully padded and protected. What I got was TWELVE damaged pieces of furniture. Several pieces were only wrapped in packing tape, which pulled the finish off of the furniture. One cabinet has a door smashed in, another has deep gouges all over it, as do several bookcases. I'm told they are "only" from IKEA, and not meant to be moved, so insurance will not cover them. It has been a month, and Anthony has not been forthcoming with reparations for any damages. I am now pretty convinced they don't actually HAVE any insurance. He originally promised to pay for the damaged books, but I have not seen any payment. I used these movers a little less than a year ago, so keep in mind things might have drastically improved since, but I did not have the best experience. The two men who came were fantastic and professional - no complaints about them whatsoever! However, my coffee table broke somewhere along the line (these things happen of course). They promised it would be replaced in about a week and even took pictures for proof for their boss- Anthony. I was instructed to keep the broken table until the new one came in. I contacted their higher up and he also promised it would be a week and to keep the table. A week goes by and I hear nothing. I give him a call and he says they were switching insurance and it would take a little longer but he was working on it. During the next month (with a broken table as decor for my new apartment) I keep calling and texting but with no answer. I finally gave up and threw the old table out about two months in. It has been 75 days since my move with First Class Movers on December 18th, 2019. In that time I have scheduled with Anthony (owner/mover) "7" times for him to come and rectify the unresolved issues from the move (see image below). Within this time frame some of my correspondence requesting a definitive date and time to address these issues were left unanswered for days to weeks; the longest being 20 days. He has no showed every scheduled visit, with the most recent being Feb 26th, Feb 28th and Feb 29th. When it was drawn to his attention on 2/29/2020 that he did not show up on any of the agreed dates, Anthony retorted that the world does not revolve around me and he will contact me when he is free. Worst experience ever. Hired first class movers took 3 days , pice went up 3 times. Many broken and dented pieces of furniture . When they arrived the last day they asked for payment I said give me a minute my husband will transfer and I will pay they said okay. I had scheduled a move for next month, but the experience wasn't pleasant. I wanted to move on a Friday, but I was told I'd be charged $16 more an hour because it was on the weekend. First off, Friday at nine in the morning isn't the weekend, and second off, don't most people move on the weekend? I would get the normal rate if I waited until the following Monday, and while it wasn't what I wanted, I agreed to the move. The person I talked to said they needed a credit card, even though I'd need to pay in cash the day of the move or be charged a fee (which I totally understand) so I gave the person my information. They said they would be placing a hold on my card, and I said okay. I should have asked more questions. Today, a charge for $110.41 went on my credit card. I was not told I would be charged anything in advance. I would have been fine with paying a deposit if that was necessary, but I was not told that I would be charged anything ahead of time, let alone $110.41. I called the credit card company just now to dispute the charge and report my number as stolen. I cannot attest to how they are as movers, so I hate to give them a one-star review without knowing anything whatsoever about their service, but if someone is going to charge me $110.41 without doing anything and without telling me anything, then I'm going to freak out. The reason why the company gets any stars it's only for the two gentlemen who did the moving. The two people who worked were very polite and did a great job. I was so grateful that I gave them each a generous tip. They worked hard! I moved my items in the same city to my home and even provide my own truck. The move distance total was less than 6 miles. When I spoke on the phone with Anthony he noted a certain price. He was not able to send a statement because he stated he was out of town and not near a computer. There was a big difference in the price when it was time to pay. When I inquired about the price he noted that he had to charge an additional amount for transportation for the movers. I literally could've filled up both their gas tanks pay for mileage and it still wouldn't equal the cost he created afterwards. After a long day of moving and talking and texting with him about he bogus charges I gave up. I requested a full detailed receipt and I have yet to receive it weeks later. I even reached on numerous occasions and didn't get any receipt. My advice there are several moving companies in Charlotte so please shop around. We used First Class Movers recently for a local 3BR move, and despite a few hiccups, Anthony made it right in the end, which I appreciate. They were also the fastest to respond and the best value, and they even gave us a military discount. I definitely recommend getting the flat rate option vice the hourly option for a big move, as the team took a whole extra day longer than estimated to finish our move--that would have been stressful if I was on the hook for the hourly rate. Also, the flat rate came with insurance, which we ended up using when a box was accidentally dropped. My only complaint was that they never came by to pick up the empty boxes after we unpacked. That's not typically part of the deal, but they'd said they would do it. Overall, good communication and great value. The team of 3 movers were very cautious with our items, cordial and helpful. I would have given them a better score if they weren't so SLOW!!!! It took 6 hours to load items that were already boxed into the truck and unloaded. I didn't have any appliances or couches, sofas or chairs. TV's and boxes, 3 dressers, 2 bed frames, 1 mattress and that took 6 hours. I've move people faster. I can't say enough about the quality and professionalism of the team. I recently moved from South Carolina to North Carolina and I was a little bit last minute on scheduling movers. Luckily I found first class movers on yelp and gave them a call. I told Anthony what I had and how much I would be taking with me and he quickly gave me a quote along with all other fees I would be paying. There were no hidden fees or surprises and he even changed his schedule around to fit me in. My friend and I were moving in together and coming from two different locations. The pricing was very straightforward and there were not any hidden fees. My boyfriend and I were able to calculate the cost of the move as it went on. The team of three were courteous and did a good job handling our things and placing them where we asked in at our final destination. It did take 8 hours to complete the move. We were moving from a fully furnished one bedroom apartment and half of a two bedroom with only a bed in the same complex to 25 minutes away into a single story house. We just finished a massive moving project, downsizing from a 6000 square-foot house to a house half the size. First Class Movers, and Anthony were outstanding, very responsive, honest, and accessible. Our home contents had to go to multiple locations, and included extremely heavy pieces such as exercise equipment, large armoires, and refrigerator freezers. These guys moved me a little over a month ago. Did a fabulous job with minimal scratches to the wall on my stairs which was pretty much unavoidable. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5 is because I was originally given a move time of 12pm but was told there was a morning move before me so I would be updated if the time was pushed back. Unfortunately, I wasn't and had to reach out myself to get an ETA. The movers didn't end up starting my move until 4:30pm making for a long night, not finishing up until 11pm. Robbie and Jacob helped us move on a Friday night from a condo in uptown and a storage unit to a townhome. It was a tough move because the condo was far from the freight elevator and townhomes come with tons of stairs. Both of them were fast, professional, and really friendly. I can't say enough good things about the move. What would have been really stressful ended up being so much better because of our movers.
