First things first. This was an Indian wedding and we needed Indian music. They can't do Indian…read moremusic. If you want it then you need to provide them with a list of songs. This was my biggest mistake because I thought I would be able to get a comprehensive list together, but I wasn't able to. So the Indian music was lacking. In the middle of the reception, Michael walks over to our sweetheart table and asked me, the bride, what was supposed to be happening at that moment! I had given them documents of the order of things for that very reason and we had a planner. Obviously, I would have problems remembering off the top of my head what was next. I told him the wrong thing and we had to awkwardly go back and do some things we skipped over. That was very bad form for a DJ. The DJ, Michael, would yell out things like "Saturday nights" during the dance music which obviously is not the right vibe for a wedding. He did not read the crowd well and played songs for too long when everyone was tired of it and not dancing anymore. The photobooth was not set up correctly. When Joe and I spoke about it on the phone, he said there would be 10 feet of space that the photobooth would capture but they had it set up so that there was only like 6 feet. I remember this because after I got the measurements from him, I tried to get a floral backdrop that was as wide at the picture would be able to get. I couldn't get anything bigger than an 8ft wide wall but even that wasn't fully captured. The guy monitoring the photobooth was very rude and badly behaved. He was having the time of his life (which we got in our videos) and gave me attitude about how we were still taking pictures at the end of the night. Given these issues, I would say how much we paid made sense because they were on the cheaper side (compared to Indian DJs). The uplighting made the ballroom look great. We said pink uplighting but it came out purple which worked out. I have a before and after attached of the ballroom.

My uncle was supposed to sing during the ceremony and we informed J&A entertainment of this. When my uncle was practicing before the ceremony were to begin, he realized the audio of the songs he was supposed to be singing to were not the karaoke versions but the actual song being sung by the artist. When my uncle went up to Jason to try and fix the issue, Jason was very rude and blew him off. My uncle tried to give him his phone that had the karaoke versions of the songs and Jason was not having it. It just sucks because like I said, Jason did a great job of keeping people on the dance floor during the reception and does know how to keep the crowd engaged which is what we wanted and are thankful for. But he took a very special moment away from us and my uncle. Instead of trying to accommodate our requests when the issue was realized, he blew my uncle off and my uncle ended up having to try and sing over Adele and Frank Sinatra. Just very disappointing. Also, we requested a private last dance prior to the wedding and he didn't accommodate that either. He ended up playing our last dance song without asking everyone to go outside for the exit. Other than those two things he did do a great job. And even though we specifically stated my uncle would be singing during the ceremony, I would suggest having a meeting with your DJ before the wedding day to make sure all of you requests will be properly met.
