I had not gone here in over a year because my last experience was just that I cannot eat inside here anymore because the smell of smoke is so strong. It makes me sick. Unfortunately, you can still smell the smoke from the cigar shop next-door so for me it's still impossible to ever eat here. However, today I wanted to take out I appreciate it that they have the touchscreen system. It made it easy for me to order and it was quick and fast. I ordered 2 tacos 1 steak fajita and 1 chicken fajita minus peppers and sauces. Due to stomach and can't do the spice anymore. So you can definitely customize your order. I got a side of Torchy's Rice. The meats in both fajita tacos were amazing. Both tender and juice. The flavors were spot on. Would definitely reorder both. I usually don't care for chicken tacos but this one was amazing. The Rice had good flavor with a little tingle of spice but not much. I only notice with being so sensitive to it otherwise most probably don't notice. My husband got a side of the beans and he loved them. The chips were fresh warm and great taste. The staff is so polite and accommodating. They make the place so much more enjoyable. The restaurant is clean and they are on top of cleaning tables when people leave. Food was ok, but there were issues with the order. A refund for the order, $53 worth, was offered and accepted. That was on a Saturday about 3 weeks ago and here we are...15 BUSINESS DAYS LATER...not even counting weekends...and still no refund. I do appreciate that Torchy's reached out after my original review. They asked me to follow a link and submit my feedback through their internal site, so I took the time to re-type the entire review there. Unfortunately, after doing all of that, the website would not allow me to actually submit the review. While I understand the intention was likely to address the issue, being redirected to another site to repeat the same information, only to find out it couldn't be submitted, was frustrating and honestly added to the overall experience rather than resolving it. At this point, my concerns remain the same: the reduced portion sizes, the value for the price, and the in-store service experience. I'm glad they responded, but I would have preferred a direct resolution instead of being sent to a form that didn't work. read more

I was looking for a spot for my friend and I to go to for some happy hour drinks. Using my handy dandy Yelp I found Torchy's Tacos. I figured I had never been and who could ever go wrong with tacos? Now I had passed this place many times and always thought I need to try them. Their sign outside stands out on the strip and really catches your attention at night when lit up. So my husband decided to tag along once he heard happy hour. When we got there we sat at the bar and Lineth was our bartender/waitress and she was very nice and patient especially since my husband kept asking the same question over again. We got started with a frozen watermelon margarita for him, a watermelon Red Bull margarita on the rocks for me and a small guacamole, salsa and chips. When my friend joined us she had a sangria and the hillbilly queso. As we drank, snacked and caught up we decided to get some tacos. My husband had the steak fajita, my friend had the shrimp Baja taco and I had the brushfire. All of us loved the tacos! We loved them so much that they ordered the same one again and I tried the next one on my list the green chili pork taco and it was delicious! Let me say that we all will be back again!!! While out shopping on Brookside, The Wife and I needed a little fuel to keep us going, so we decided to give Torchy's a shot. I mean, it's tacos.... how could we go wrong? For a taco joint, the place is pretty upscale. Open, airy with a definite uptown vibe going on. The menu was a little daunting for first timers, but we muddled through. The Wife opted for the Green Chili Pork and Chicken Fajita tacos, and I went with the Crossroads and the Democrat tacos. We also decided to split an order of their Damn Good Tots. We found a seat in a (relatively) quiet spot and waited on our food, which arrived pretty quickly. We both agreed the Damn Good Tots weren't. They were actually Kinda Okay Tots. They just didn't stand out and were pretty boring. I think we only ate about half of them. The tacos on the other hand... those fairly well rocked. The Wife let me have a bite of each of hers and both were very good, especially the green enchilada one. Of my two, I didn't realize how similar they both were, or I probably would have rethought one of them. That said, both were great. Well proportioned ingredients, hot and fresh. Nothing wrong with any of them at all. If we find ourselves there again, I'll try some other tacos, and most certainly another appetizer. read more

Ambiance: I went on a Saturday night, and it was a really light crowd. There was tons of space and lots of seating. A couple of tvs around the bar and a decent amount of decor. Service: We sat at the bar, and even though there was only one person attending the bar, she was very attentive and kind. She helped us choose great tacos and made some tasty drinks. There is street parking in front and the side and a shared parking lot in the back. The inside is open and spacious. You walk up to the counter to order and get a number and they will bring the food to your table. The menu is mostly a la carte tacos and sides. There is a bar for drinks if you would like. As it is a la carte if you get a couple tacos, chips and salsa and any other sides with a drink it will add up quickly. I really enjoyed the heat of the Jamaica jerk chicken, the brisket was good with lots of jalepenos and the I liked the flavors of the Baja shrimp taco. The refried beans are decent. I'll start off by saying everything is à la cart and this might bug some people. Also heads up because this isn't anything like authentic Mexican tacos... I'd say more like hipster tacos. The chips and queso were good, but the chips were pretty cold. I love warm chips with queso, so this threw me. I had the Vagabond taco which is...Marinated grilled steak, bacon, grilled onions, chimichurri sauce, feta cheese, and pico de gallo all served on a flour tortilla. Really tasty. The tacos are interesting and unique, and just looking off the menu a lot of them sound delicious. Next time I want to try the rice. Also their drink menu looks super tempting! BUT.... Went in to pick up a Yelp special order (that I had tacked four tacos on to). The four taco order (Trailer Park, Texas Hottie, Crossroads, and Green Chile Pork) came out soon and were ready to go. My Yelp order took a while. They did scramble when they realized I didn't have the full order and thank goodness the manager got involved. She was very friendly and took control! :) The Tacos were EXCELLENT! Our favorite was the Trailer Park and the Green Chile Pork with the Crossroads following in a close third. The Texas Hottie was more sweet than hot...wasn't a favorite. As I said, we got this to go. We would definitely do that again. If I do dine in, I think I want to set at the bar. The chandeliers are cool. I'm giving Torchy's four stars for the good taco factor and I'm not blaming them for the order FUBAR b/c I did tack on the the order. I was suppose to write this review last night, however after a 22 hours drive I felt as if I'd do this place a disservice... Even with the covid-19 precautions and seating this place has a laid back relaxing 1st dinner date/get too know you vibe. Awesome Customer service the lady at the cash register understood it was my first time and offered me lots of help on the most popular dishes, the staff was friendly and attentive, and quick. We waited about 10 mints for our foot 5 for the guacamole and ships. I ordered the trailer park(trashy and Baja Shrimp Taco, I'm kinda a taco connoisseur so this place had me excited and DID NOT DISAPPOINT, my brother had the same and stated it was also delish. Ahhhh Torchy's! An Austin staple. You're welcome Tulsa. What's crazy about this is that Torchy's in Austin is a hole in the wall tiny restaurant. Well at least most of their locations. There are no chandeliers and full bar like this location. If your not aware of the secret menu you should try it. They used to have my favorite the jack of clubs which they took off....PLEASE bring it back Torchy's. The service isn't that great but I only went for lunch and all the employees working looked to be kids that didn't care to be there that's why only 4 stars. Haven't sat at the bar yet but its on my to do list for happy hour. None the less the food is the same as in Austin with great queso and tacos. read more

What's not to love about torchy's?! The different tacos on the menu are so creative and so good. I have never been disappointed with any I have tried. The meat is always moist, guac is fresh, crispy onions, an all-around just good tacos. I highly suggest getting inside of Mexican corn. I like the open atmosphere here. I've been to torchy's at a few different locations, and this is definitely the most open and enjoyable location. The only reason I don't give it up for five stars is because the servers are not the friendliest staff. Granted, I know that right now, restaurant staff is hard to come by, and most restaurants are running on partial staff, so not letting that jade my feelings too much. read more

This was our first ever visit to a Torchy's Tacos (they are a chain across the US), but it doesn't feel like a chain. It feels like a custom restaurant when you're inside. This location was a Wolfgang Puck once upon a time, and they have done a lot to make it bright, open and a totally new space. You place your order at the counter and grab a seat. You want to come in prepared, because the menu is pretty large with a lot of taco varieties to choose from. I went with the "Independent" and "Democrat" not only because it's where I stand...but because they sound delicious ;) the beef on the democrat was shredded and really flavorful. I loved the taco overall, but I did hit a bone in the meat, so careful while eating. The Independent was SO amazing! I loved the textures, colors and flavor. The sauce in this taco should be on everything! It was creamy and flavorful. Okay, so that was most of the good. The bad was the guacamole needed salt, pepper and some lemon juice. Also the portion was not very large for the price, and you get a basket of chips but you end up having dry chips and no salsa or guacamole. The ugly, well, that is the tiny thimble if salsa they give you with your taco. Their tacos are flavorful, so there isn't need for much salsa, but it would have been nice to have some to go with the guacamole. Torchy's is definitely something to "taco bout"! I would love to go back and try more flavors... Okay, so I'm pretty sad to update with a negative review, but I would feel bad if someone went here based on my last review and had the experience we did... We came in for dinner on a Friday around 5pm. The restaurant was already decently busy. We placed our order to dine in and grabbed our drinks. We noticed a lot of staff just standing around and talking but the dining room area was pretty filthy. We got a table and cleaned it ourselves. I stopped in the men's restroom to wash my hands, and there was an overwhelming stench of sewage. I suspect there is an issue with their waterless urinals, but wow it was gross and a major appetite killer. When the food came out we were surprised because it was all packaged up to go. The worker said it said to go on our ticket, but we looked at the ticket and it said everything was dine-in except the chips and quest were marked to go for some reason. We unpackaged all of our food and ate. I ordered the chips and queso and the Independent. WARNING: the queso is very spicy! I like a good amount of spice, but this was way more than average heat, so if you're sensitive to spice I would not order this. The taco was not as good as it was the last time I got it. It seemed to lack flavor and the fried mushrooms were not cooked enough. Bottom line if this was our first experience we would not go back. In all honesty we probably won't be back because it is a bit of a drive over here and for the price you expect top quality or at the very least cleanliness. read more

We ordered the queso, trailer park, fried avocado, democrat, and mr orange. Everything was so salty. way too salty to enjoy. The chicken on the trailer park was a salt bomb and inedible. The fish on Mr orange was lukewarm and hard to eat. Overall, the flavors were just awful and just way too salty to enjoy. We were so disappointed. The queso however was fantastic and so delicious. The waitstaff was really friendly and they social distanced really well and they served diet Dr Pepper which is always a plus. read more

I always order the salmon taco and the shrimp taco (I think it's called the Baja taco) and they're always super yummy! The salmon is blackened and cooked to perfection. It's always super tender and melts in your mouth. And the shrimp tacos are always fresh and tasty! I love the cabbage in this taco. It gives it a little extra crunch to it! And I'm not sure if their tortillas are homemade? But I absolutely love them. They're very tasty. Definitely a must try! 10/10 for me. read more

I was soooo excited when I found out there is a Torchy's in Tulsa! Ok, T-Town! In short, the restaurant is spacious (with a hidden hallway that doesn't seem visible from the front and leads to the restroom). All the tacos are always prepared made to order, and if you've ever been to Torchy's, the sauces are no joke! I like the spice :-) My favorites are the Brushfire jerk chicken and the trailer park tacos, but I don't think there are any bad options. The house margaritas are also solid. The service is ridiculously friendly and this little area has fun neighborhood spots like this. I drove out of the way just to come to Torchy's and don't regret it! read more

I've heard so much about Torchy's and I finally got to check it out for myself. I got the Baja Shrimp taco with a side of street corn. The taco was great. Loved the flavor and the crunch of the shrimp. It tasted super fresh and I would definitely buy it again. As for the street corn, I didn't like it at all. In fact, I couldn't finish the bowl. The corn was supposed to be roasted but it just tasted salty and burnt to me. Overall, some things are hit or miss here. read more
